Despite Taika Waititi‘s already heavy portfolio, the Kiwi director keeps adding to his slate of movies and other franchise projects, the most recent one being a live-action Judge Dredd film. The violent and bleak comic satire, which became hugely popular in the UK since its launch in the late 1970s, has been a Hollywood pet project for the longest time.
In the past, Sylvester Stallone tried and failed while Karl Urban somewhat succeeded in bringing the comic book character to life. However, this time around, the project will be a collaboration of the action-fanatic mind of Drew Pearce and the eccentric genius of Taika Waititi (The Hollywood Reporter).
But despite the made-to-be-successful pairing of the two, the future of Judge Dredd looks as bleak in reality as it does in the comics. And Waititi’s growing list of the following undeveloped projects is to blame for the growing suspicion...

Following its disappointing box office takings three decades ago, the star-studded Western The Quick and the Deadis gaining belated attention on the Netflix streaming charts. Coming from director Sam Raimi and starring Russell Crowe, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Sharon Stone, this cult favorite underperformed at the time and only grossed $47 million against its $35 million budget.
As a revisionist Western about a female gunfighter joining a deadly dueling competition in the Old West town of Redemption, The Quick and the Dead delivers a stylish, genre-bending spectacle that wasn’t appreciated in its own time. With over-the-top early performances from future Hollywood stars, in hindsight, it’s striking just how much talent was involved in this underappreciated Western.

Action icon Jason Statham got the ball rolling in 2025 by starring in A Working Man, the action vehicle directed by David Ayer, but now a forgotten project from the star has become a surprising streaming hit over 10 years later. Statham stars alongside MCU veteran Benedict Wong in Redemption, formerly titled Hummingbird, the action film following a damaged former special forces soldier in London’s criminal underworld who steals another man’s identity. Redemption is streaming for free on Tubi and Pluto TV in the U.S. and on Starz globally, where it’s been one of the top 10 movies on the platform for 74 days. Redemption grossed only $12 million at the box office against a $20 million budget, and it earned “rotten” scores of 49% from critics and 38% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes.

Kevin James is a henchman trying to quit the mob in the first trailer for Guns Up. The movie marks the actor's return to the action genre after having played neo-Nazi leader Dominick five years earlier in Becky.
As the Guns Up trailer shows, quitting the mob is easier said than done, as James' character's final job goes off the rails. "With the clock ticking, the ex-cop has one night to get his unsuspecting family out of the city before he gets snuffed out," reads the synopsis for the action movie. The trailer features James' Ray Hayes showcasing his lethal skills, which leads to his son questioning whether he's "John Wick," the beloved assassin from the franchise of the same name, played by Keanu Reeves. However, after Ray's wife, Audrey (Christina Ricci), takes care of a few mob men herself, their daughter remarks to her brother that their dad "married John Wick.

When it comes to forgiveness on Bold and the Beautiful , the bar is hilariously low. From blackmailers to baby snatchers, the streets of Los Angeles are paved with second (and third and fourth) chances. So why should Finn’s daughter, Luna, be the exception? Sure, she made some…dramatic choices – like drugging Steffy, kidnapping her, and killing two men along the way. But let’s not pretend she’s the first Forrester-adjacent villain with a body count.
Redemption Is a Family Affair
Finn (Tanner Novlan), the ever-noble doctor with a bleeding heart, is in a unique position. He can either follow the expected path of outrage and rejection, or he can surprise us all and open his door – and his heart – to his wayward daughter. It may not be popular, but it just might be smart. After all, Luna’s (Lisa Yamada) been cast out, and when people feel...

I’ve come to a slightly unsettling realization lately: I may be one of the last people alive who plans their TV watching.
Seriously — when I see a trailer or read about a show or movie that looks promising, I jot it down.
If it doesn’t show up on my streamer of choice right away, I go find it.
Prime Video’s Deep Cover (Peter Mountain / Copyright © 2024 Copertura Productions Ltd. All Rights Reserved)
I’ll track down the network, check air dates, stalk the actors’ IMDb pages, maybe even see what else the showrunner has done. I like to know what I’m getting into, and I like to know why.
But here’s what gets me: the average viewer doesn’t seem to be doing that at all.

The TV boom might be leveling off, but we are still in the golden age of spinoffs.
Networks have decided to go all in on expanding the worlds of their popular shows, with some being upfront about it while others find a way to rebrand the approach.
Starz is all in on spinoffs — the Power universe specifically — that have a four-season ceiling, while CBS refers to it as “long-term development.”
(Sergei Bachlakov/CBS)
What that means is that the executives crunch the numbers, find a character with the potential of a massive return on investment, and give them a show.
The character’s popularity may be primarily influenced by the actor portraying them, as they finally capitalize on the image they’ve been cultivating for years.

After a year of anticipation, The Bear Season 4 is finally coming out this month!
The majority opinion is that Season 3 was a disappointment. Compared to the earlier two seasons of The Bear, the last season had significantly less plot development than the previous ones.

However, the Season 4 trailer gives me hope that the upcoming season will be a delicious delight.
The Season 4 trailer was recently released, and everyone has been cooking up theories about what’s happening next.

There’s a part of Eliot’s (Christian Kane) past that the crew of Leverage: Redemption has no idea about, and it has to do with one of the villains from the original TNT series Leverage. In Season 3 of the prequel, unbeknownst to the others, Eliot worked for Damien Moreau (Goran Visnjic), and he once hinted as much, explaining at the time to his teammates that he’d been trying to protect them, which he saw as his job. Still, we never found out what exactly he did for Moreau, and it seems like that question will never be answered, according to the reboot's showrunner.
In the “The Big Bang Job” episode of Leverage Season 3, Eliot revealed to the crew that the worst thing he had ever done in his life was for Moreau, and he’ll “never be clean of that.” But when thief Parker (Beth Riesgraf) asked what he did,...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for the Leverage: Redemption Season 3 finale “The Side Job.”] This very fun heist drama, with three seasons of the revival on Prime Video now done, has been doing deep dives on its characters’ pasts and figuring out who they are. In Leverage: Redemption Season 3, by the finale, it was Parker’s (Beth Riesgraf) turn. The thief took the lead in a major way on this con, taking down a mark using child labor to the point he didn’t care who got hurt, with assists from the others (as she’d expected). But how far would she have gone without intervention from Eliot (Christian Kane)? Plus, what’s the appeal of Sophie’s (Gina Bellman) new relationship? TV Insider spoke with Riesgraf, Kane, Bellman, and Aleyse Shannon (Breanna) about the finale and their hopes for Season 4. [Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for the Leverage: Redemption Season 3 finale “The Side Job.”] Could Parker (Beth Riesgraf) actually kill a mark?! That’s the question the Leverage: Redemption Season 3 finale asks. Parker runs a job herself, taking on a local factory kingpin (Ricardo Chavira) using child labor, and at one point, she threatens to throw him into a bone grinder. (Dark stuff!) It’s Eliot (Christian Kane) who finds her. He has her back, no matter what, he says, and yes, he tried to talk Nate out of killing the man who murdered his father, but he was an alcoholic who carried around Catholic guilt, hated himself for the death of his son, and wouldn’t have lasted a week after pulling the trigger. Their conversation then turns to the Season 4 premiere from the original run. Then, on a mountain, they’d talked about how they weren’t like the others. Sometimes, it’s on them to do ...

The end is here for the scheme team for another season. Leverage: Redemption airs its Season 3 finale in just two days with one final con centered around the team's thief, Parker (Beth Riesgraf). Titled "The Side Job," the episode follows Parker on what initially appears to be a solo mission to bring down a local factory kingpin reaping the benefits of child labor. Before she sets out, however, Collider has an exclusive sneak peek that sees her surprising corrupt lawyer-turned-fixer, Harry Wilson, played by The Pitt star Noah Wyle, with a heart-to-heart conversation and an important proposition.
In the footage, Harry gets quite the jumpscare when he cheerfully walks out to his car, only for Parker to pop up from the back seat when he climbs in. It serves as an important lesson to the newest Leverage member — always check your back seat for intruders — but it also opens up...

The Prime Video series is currently halfway through the season with a number of jobs left to be pulled off. Devlin also serves as showrunner on The Librarians: The Next Chapter, and in an interview with ScreenRant regarding that show, Devlin discussed the major delay experienced by Leverage: Redemption renewal chances.

Leverage: Redemption showrunner Dean Devlin is also waiting to hear word about a renewal. A follow-up to the original Leverage, the Prime Video series is currently halfway through season 3, and there has been no word about a potential season 4. It is the show's first time being hosted by Prime Video, as seasons 1 and 2 were presented by Freevee. With a new streaming service involved, the renewal remains an open question for both viewers and the showrunner himself.
In an interview with ScreenRant's Grant Hermanns about his show, The Librarians: The Next Chapter, Devlin explained the major delay to Leverage: Redemption's renewal. Just as audiences have not heard any news, the cast and crew are still waiting, as Prime Video continues to gather "a lot of data." Although Jason Statham’s new movie didn’t perform as well as The Beekeeper at the box office, one of his older flicks has made a stunning re-appearance on streaming charts. Statham stars alongside action icon Jet Li in War, the 2007 film following an FBI Agent (Statham) who seeks vengeance against a mysterious assassin (Li) who murdered his partner. War recently began streaming for free on Tubi, and the film has snuck into the top 10, sitting at #8 on the streamer’s charts at the time of writing. The film was not particularly well-received by critics or audiences, earning a “rotten” 14% score from the former on Rotten Tomatoes and a 51% on the audience-driven Popcornmeter. It also grossed only $42 million at the box office against a $25 million budget.

With the latest episode of To Be Hero X, we might have come to a closure of another hero introduction, and this time it was Yang Cheng’s New E-soul. Before him, we had already been presented with Lin Ling’s character arc, which fell under The Commoner’s origin story. And there will be more such heroes about to be introduced to us one by one.
But now, if you go comparing the two that we already have, you’d see there’s a clear distinction between Lin Ling and Yang Cheng’s character arcs. Here, one definitely seems to be done better than the other. The Nice arc had much more potential to work with, but they ended it in such an abrupt cliffhanger that New E-Soul’s storyline feels way more compelling so far.

As far as revival shows go, Leverage: Redemption has been impressive, with the third season recently premiering on Prime Video. With Season 3 now halfway through, fans might have begun to wonder about its renewal chances, especially considering how positive critical and audience reception are no longer enough to guarantee renewals these days. The metrics for renewals have become far more complex, and this is a fact not lost on one of the show's stars,Beth Riesgraf, who plays Parker. The actress recently addressed the show's renewal possibilities, suggesting that the streamer's subscription volume might be the ultimate deciding factor.
The original Leverage premiered on TNT in December 2008 and soon won over audiences with its weekly case format, which delivered back-to-back heist thrills. The show sees the central team of five, consisting of a thief, a grifter, a hacker, a hitter, and a mastermind, leverage their skills for a good cause,...

Blade Runner has been one of the best and biggest sci-fi franchises of all time, although it did not really start of as a franchise back in 1982, when Scott adapted Philip K. Dick’s epic novel featuring the chase between Rick Deckard and Roy Batty.
And while the movie took many liberties with the story and despite an initially lukewarm reception, it has not only become a beloved cult classic, but it has also become one of the best films of all time.
Of course, as time passed, the story evolved, and we now have numerous derivative works from the Blade Runner universe, including several popular comic book series, which are getting a special release soon.

We’re getting a classic Leverage episode with the Thursday, May 15, edition of Redemption, and so it’s fitting that one of the original series stars, Beth Riesgraf, who has continued to play thief Parker, stepped behind the camera to direct it (her fifth of the series). In “The Shakedown in Clone-Town Job,” Sophie (Gina Bellman‘s grifter), Eliot (Christian Kane‘s hitter), and Parker get caught in a small-town speed trap run by a corrupt mayor who is also the local judge, endeavoring to help the oppressed townspeople wrest power from his hungry clutches. Below, Beth Riesgraf talks about directing this Leverage: Redemption episode, teases what to expect, and previews Drew Powell‘s upcoming return as former-mark-turned-Leverage International member Hurley. A Working Man made its debut on digital platforms at the end of last week, but that hasn’t stopped the film from continuing to earn at the box office. Jason Statham’s latest action vehicle now sits at $36 million at the domestic box office and $51 million internationally for a worldwide cumulative total of $87 million. While this is still significantly less than The Beekeeper, the latest action movie collaboration between Statham and director David Ayer, it is enough to make it one of Statham’s 20 highest-grossing movies ever. Despite mixed reactions from fans and critics — 49% score from critics and 87% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes — A Working Man has passed Snatch, which also stars Brad Pitt, to reach Statham’s top 20 list.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for the Leverage: Redemption Season 3 premiere, “The Weekend in Paris Job.”] If you ask hitter Eliot Spencer (Christian Kane), the hits he takes is just part of the job, as he says in the Leverage: Redemption Season 3 premiere. The season begins with the crew — Eliot, grifter Sophie Devereaux (Gina Bellman), thief Parker (Beth Riesgraf), and hacker Alec Hardison (Aldis Hodge) — mid-con in France when they have to flee. In the process, Eliot’s arm is slashed with a knife. Then, while trying to lie low, they end up in the middle of another con, and Parker suggests that Hardison, feeling like he’s not sure about how they crime anymore, give Eliot’s usual role a try, especially since the hitter’s lost a lot of blood and his left arm isn’t working. Parker even cuffs Eliot to a table, but he ends up freeing himself to help Hardison fight a guard.

Gunslingers, directed by Brian Skiba, seems like an extended action sequence, as apart from the stylized Western-style gunfights, the film does not have much to offer. The problem I had with this film was that the audience was given little to no information about the motives and past lives of the various characters. So for 103 minutes, I felt like I was watching a bunch of people, about whom we never came to know anything, trying to get the better of each other. I didn’t understand why the narrative fastidiously abstained from delving into the lives of the characters and giving us any context about any of them. Also, I failed to understand what Nicolas Cage was trying to do in the film and what difference it would have made had his character not been there. There is a thin line between what could be funny and what just seems like absurdity.
