The Twilight Zone Reboot Moving Forward At CBS; Jordan Peele And Simon Kinberg To Produce
Not to be outdone by Netflix and Black Mirror season 4, CBS All Access is moving forward with a new interpretation of The Twilight Zone.

The Hollywood Reporter has the scoop, confirming that Get Out helmer Jordan Peele and Simon Kinberg will oversee development of the sci-fi revival, though CBS stopped short of mentioning an episode count and/or a tentative release window. Common logic dictates that the network will let this announcement simmer for some time while it tends to Star Trek: Discovery, its other high-profile All Access series that’s poised to conclude its opening season on January 7th.

What we do know, however, is that The Twilight Zone reboot has appointed Marco Ramirez (Daredevil) as showrunner, and Peele is of the belief that there’s no better time to reintroduce the seminal classic:

Too many times this year it’s felt we were living in a twilight zone,...

Jordan Peele's Twilight Zone Series Officially Picked Up By CBS All Access
CBS All Access has officially ordered the new Twilight Zone series reboot being developed by Jordan Peele (Get Out), Simon Kinberg (X-Men), and showrunner Marco Ramirez (The Defenders, Daredevil). The only reason that I'm excited about this new series is the fact that Jordan Peele is involved.

When talking about the series, Peele said, “Too many times this year it’s felt we were living in a twilight zone, and I can’t think of a better moment to reintroduce it to modern audiences.” Kingberg went on to say, “The Twilight Zone was a touchstone in my life. The opportunity to continue its lineage is a dream come true, and I’m so thrilled to be doing it with Jordan, Marco and the team at CBS All Access.” Julie McNamara, executive VP originals at CBS All Access added:

“The original The Twilight Zone bridged science fiction, horror and fantasy together...

CBS All Access is officially journeying back to a dimension not only of sight and sound, but of mind.

The streaming service on Wednesday announced that it has ordered to series The Twilight Zone, a “modern reimagining” of the classic sci-fi anthology to be executive-produced by Jordan Peele (Get Out), Simon Kinberg (Legion) and Marco Ramirez (Marvel’s The Defenders). Word of the official green light comes just one month after CBS CEO Leslie Moonves announced the network’s plans to revive the Rod Serling-hosted classic via All Access.

With the Klingons heading for the planet Pahvo, Captain Lorca is ordered to retreat to keep the Discovery‘s spore drive safe. But Lorca doesn’t want to leave the poor Pahvans helpless, so he agrees to head back to the starbase, but uses the ship’s warp drive rather than the spore drive, which gives them a couple hours to figure out the Klingons’ cloaking technology. Get Out Director Jordan Peele to Develop The Twilight Zone Reboot For CBS All Access
CBS has been looking to reboot the classic Rod Serling series The Twilight Zone for some time now. Now they are moving forward with the development of it and according to Variety, it will be made exclusively for CBS All Access. "All Access will be the home of a new version of one of the most iconic television shows of all time – The Twilight Zone."

Get Out’s Jordan Peele To Spearhead Twilight Zone Reboot For CBS All Access
Looks like Star Trek: Discovery is about to have some company.

The Hollywood Reporter brings word that Jordan Peele, the creative mind behind 2017’s horror hit Get Out, is working to bring The Twilight Zone to a totally new dimension: the 21st century.

More than 50 years after the hugely influential sci-fi series ended its initial run, and after Bryan Singer’s (X-Men) failed attempts to launch a revival – for the record, BioShock mastermind Ken Levine also flirted with the idea of an interactive movie and/or series – The Twilight Zone is headed back to television, where it’ll join a whole host of TV comebacks from yesteryear (see: Twin Peaks).

It’s unclear as yet whether CBS has already handed out a series order to Jordan Peele’s revival, or if the reboot has merely entered the early stages of development, but we’ll be keeping a close eye on...

A ‘Twilight Zone’ Revival Is Headed to CBS All Access
CBS is really trying to make All Access happen. It has renewed The Good Wife spinoff The Good Fight for a much-deserved second season, alongside Star Trek: Discovery. But seeing the success of the latter, perhaps, CBS is now reviving The Twilight Zone to run on its paid platform, creating (perhaps) a site that is becoming increasingly dedicated to sci-fi (and revived sci-fi from the past, no less). According to Variety, CBS CEO Leslie Moonves announced the news about bringing the series back today, and it won't be the first time. The Twilight Zone originally ran …...

On CBS’ third-quarter earnings call Thursday afternoon, Moonves revealed that a “Twilight Zone” reboot will be aired exclusively on All Access. “Where others worry about cord cutters, we don’t,” Moonves said on the call. “Where others are losing subs to cord cutters, we’re growing.” CBS embraced TV’s streaming future early on,...

Wonder Woman Is Even Better with Lightsabers in Star Wars Mashup
David Thewlis, Saïd Taghmaoui, and Gal Gadot in Wonder Woman (2017)
Wonder Woman was a massive success which helped get Warner Bros.'s Dceu slate back on the right track, after the critically-panned Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad. With any big hit movie, that often opens up the floodgates for parodies, mashups and more, and Wonder Woman is certainly no exception to that tradition. A new fan made video takes footage from Wonder Woman as imagines it as part of the Star Wars universe, giving Diana of Themyscira and several other characters lightsabers during their battle scenes.

The video features regular footage from the Wonder Woman, particularly the training scenes on Themyscira where Diana (Gal Gadot) is training with her aunt, Antiope (Robin Wright), but instead of the traditional swords, this fan has edited in lightsabers, along with all of the traditional lightsaber sounds. Of course, it's rather ludicrous, since there is literally no connection between Wonder Woman and Star Wars,...

[Editor’s Note: The following contains spoilers from “Star Trek: Discovery” Episode 1 and 2, “The Vulcan Hello” and “Battle at the Binary Stars.”]

Liz Shannon Miller, TV Editor: While anyone who knows a little bit about “Star Trek” comes to a new iteration of the franchise with certain expectations, there is the basic fact that the pilot of any TV show is, to borrow a term, undiscovered country. And the launch of “Star Trek: Discovery” has been accompanied by plenty of early press suggesting that we were in for a whole new take on boldly going where no one has gone before — a take that might prove darker than previous installments.

And, no lie, introducing a major character like Captain Philippa Georgiou (Michelle Yeoh) and then seeing her brutally murdered by a Klingon is a strong indication of that. How much did that shock you, Hanh?

Hanh Nguyen, Senior Editor: Honestly, it didn’t, which in itself surprised me since I haven’t been following the development of the show that closely. While I am a fan,...

47 Fall TV Actors Ranked Most to Least Liked, From Michael Weatherly to Matt LeBlanc (Photos)
CBS: America’s Most-Liked Network? Maybe, maybe not, but our country’s most-watched broadcast channel has six of the eight most-liked actors on TV this fall, according to a study by TheWrap and The Q Scores Company. That’s a pretty good start. Unfortunately, Les Moonves also employs the three least-liked dudes. Looking into the 54 leading men across the Big 4 broadcasters’ fall schedules, we found seven dudes without measurements, and 47 we could rank. All numbers in the story come from a Summer 2017 study unless otherwise noted. Also Read: CBS Eyes Big Q2 Profit, Expands All Access to Canada Here’s how the marketing company arrives.

Game of Thrones (2011)
‘Game of Thrones,’ ‘Power’ Lead This Week’s Xfinity On-Demand TV Ranker
Game of Thrones (2011)
As audience habits change and viewers increasingly find other ways to consume programming, the Nielsen ratings only tell part of the story. Streaming and on-demand platforms continue to play a more important role in reaching eyeballs, particularly among young demographics.

Xfinity On Demand has agreed to exclusively share with IndieWire its weekly on-demand ranker, which adds up the cumulative views of all episodes within the series (past and current season). While not available nationwide, Xfinity’s on-demand service can be found in around 20 million homes across the country, demonstrating a good cross-section of U.S. audiences.

The list includes series that both are and aren’t in season, which is why “Outlander” appears. (Apparently fans are gearing up for the show’s upcoming return by diving into past seasons.) No surprise, “Game of Thrones” (which generally hovers inside the top 20 all year) is No. 1, given the show’s huge popularity.

Why the Oscars’ Envelope Snafu Didn’t Hurt Its Chances With Emmy Voters
A version of this story first appeared in the Down to the Wire issue of TheWrap’s Emmy magazine. When it comes to giving out awards to people for giving out awards to other people, the Emmys have always loved the Oscars. Not only have the Academy Awards won more Emmys than any other awards show over the years, but the Motion Picture Academy’s shindig back in February landed six more nominations this year, plus another one for Oscar.com’s “All Access” experience. Meanwhile — and we know that this might be beside the point, but we’ll mention it anyway — the “And.

Floyd Mayweather takes time out as cowboy ahead of Conor McGregor fight
Floyd Mayweather took some time out in the lead-up to his fight with Conor McGregor — by visiting a dude ranch and dressing up as a cowboy. Wearing bright wight sneakers, we see Floyd transforming (kind of) from city slicker to cowboy as he gets a tour of Bonnie Springs Ranch near Las Vegas with his posse. Whether it’s the pioneering spirit that inspires humans to go boldly where no one has gone before, not to mention the intoxicating sense of discovery that follows, or the multispecies cast at its heart, Star Trek has a long history of breaking boundaries with its progressive characters and multifaceted stories, and that’s a legacy Fuller and Kurtzman will hope to honor with the soon-to-be-released Discovery.

And so, following its presence at Sdcc last month, a slew of Star Trek: Discovery character posters have beamed online to lend budding viewers a chance to get acquainted...

Boldly Go And Look At These Awesome Star Trek: Discovery EW Covers
After a stop-start production process, Star Trek: Discovery – the latest TV iteration of the Trek franchise – is finally about to debut on our screens. To celebrate its arrival in this galaxy, Entertainment Weekly‘s new issue is sporting three variant covers of the series’ stars, showcasing the prominent female characters that will headline the show. Notably, Sonequa Martin-Green’s lead First Officer Michael Burnham (yes, Michael) and Michelle Yeoh‘s Captain Philippa Georgiou.

These covers look great, make no mistake about it, but the tagline for the issue has grated many Star Trek fans. “Where no woman has gone before” is a nice reference to the fact that Discovery has a female lead character, but it does seem to forget that the franchise has had one before. Kate Mulgrew played Captain Kathryn Janeway on Star Trek: Voyager, which ran for an impressive seven seasons from 1995 to 2001. Come on, EW, you must know that.
