Victory Road (2011)

Trivia

Victory Road

Edit
This PPV is infamous for Jeff Hardy showing up high on drugs and in no condition to wrestle for his main event match with TNA World Heavyweight Champion Sting (Steve Borden). The "match," such as it was, was Sting hitting the Scorpion Deathdrop and pinning Jeff in a mere 1:28. This was during a time when Hardy was facing jail time on drug charges. TNA apologized for the match.
Dave Meltzer's "The Wrestling Observer Newsletter" voted this show as the Worst Major Wrestling Show of 2011. Bryan Alvarez and Vince Verhei were very critical of the show, rating the Knockouts Tag Team Title match where Rosita (Thea Trinidad) and Sarita (Sarah Stock) defeated Angelina Love (Angel Williams) and Winter (Katarina Severen) for the titles "minus three stars," and the Sting-Jeff Hardy match "minus five stars."
Just after Sting enters the ring, the referee can be seen throwing up the "X" signal with his arms; having just finished speaking with Jeff Hardy. Normally, the X is used by referees in professional wrestling to signify a legitimate injury to a wrestler. Or is otherwise unable to perform. In this case, the referee learned that Hardy was severely intoxicated after their short conversation.
Although Kurt Angle appeared on the promotional poster, he did not compete or even appear at the event.
