K-Dramas have come a long way since its emergence. From its OGs like Boys Over Flowers and Secret Garden to the 2010s contemporaries like The Heirs and Descendants of the Sun, this generation of K-Dramas continues to break the barriers of genre. From a Friends meets Grey’s Anatomy type of medical comedy-drama, to a surreal, vivid portrayal of between life and death, K-Dramas are both comfort watches with their familiar tropes, but remain refreshing with unique themes and storylines.

There’s something about Bruce Springsteen that breeds a certain kind of fanaticism. Men and women with jobs, children, and real adult responsibilities lose their minds whenever he goes on tour and spend a ludicrous amount of time and energy following him all across the globe, even if it means hearing him perform the same songs again and again and again. They collect rare vinyl bootlegs, post endlessly in online fan forums, and pore over set list statistics on the Brucebase and My Bosstime like they’re studying the Talmud.

Earlier this week, Bruce Springsteen’s public relations team sent out a press release that summed up the major events of the year. It focused on the continuation of his Letter To You world tour, including his triumphant Sea.Hear.Now headlining set in Asbury Park, New Jersey, the acclaimed documentary Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band, and a 40th anniversary Born In The U.S.A. vinyl package.
It ends with a very tantalizing sentence: “Upcoming releases in 2025 will include a look back at Springsteen’s storied recording career,...

Throughout the years, Hyun Bin has shown his range as a leading man in romantic K-drama series and action films. Attention fell onto Hyun after his lead role in the romantic comedy series My Lovely Sam Soon, which established the actor as a charming romantic interest, a type of character he would become largely beloved for. Still, Hyun's skills aren't limited to romantic narratives. Action films like Confidential Assignment and The Negotiation present a different side of Hyun that is equally welcomed by fans.

The First Descendant Update Potentially Made the Most Pointless Boss Weapon an Absolute Beast to Use
The free-to-play multiplayer looter shooter title, The First Descendant from Nexon launched last month and has garnered a quite good player base. The game recorded the concurrent peak count of 264,860 players on Steam.
While that is impressive, there have also been some issues that have bothered players and one of the many was related to a boss weapon. But it seems like the latest update has fixed that and made the once useless weapon a beast.

Pop history is littered with prolific partnerships, but the artist-producer pairing is arguably one of the most indispensable. Not only can an intrepid knob-twirler coax the best out of an artist, the most fruitful of these collaborations are often reciprocal. Think George Martin and the Beatles; Timbaland and Missy Elliott; or Jam & Lewis and Janet Jackson. Taylor Swift and former Fun guitarist-drummer Jack Antonoff have both achieved commercial and critical success outside of their work together, but their alliance over the last several years has, more often than not, resulted in pop magic.
The duo first worked together over a decade ago, on the unassuming “Sweeter Than Fiction,” a song from the British-American film One Chance. The following year, Antonoff co-wrote and co-produced three tracks for Swift’s blockbuster album 1989, the success of which propelled him to the top of every A&r exec’s wish list, helming tracks for Pink,...

Before Korean dramas exploded globally and started appealing more to Western audiences, the beginnings of K-dramas were the absolute best. Nothing can compare to the nostalgic feeling of the early 2000s. Between the light-hearted OSTs, wacky, brightly colored clothing, and the body-switching storylines, there was always something to make you belly laugh and feel good. And for most Og fans, many got their start into Korean TV and culture from shows such as Boys Over Flowers, Secret Garden, Winter Sonata, Full House, or the beloved Goong otherwise known as Princess Hours.

Actress Candis Cayne opened up about the factors that led to her decision to step back from her close friendship with reality TV star Caitlyn Jenner, years after their bond was showcased on the TV series I Am Cait.
Cayne expressed that she and Jenner no longer maintain regular communication and went on to reveal the breaking point in their friendship. “I can’t separate my friendship with her and her belief system anymore,” she told The Messenger.
Cayne, a trans activist, described Jenner as “a cult member, a Fox News cult member.” According to Cayne, she and a few other women attempted to enlighten Jenner about the importance of their cause and how progressive views were essential to support others, but to no avail.

Welcome to Derry, the prequel to It, set in Stephen King's fictional town, could potentially explore other stories set in the same location. The show might incorporate King's stories like Insomnia, Secret Window, Secret Garden, "The Road Virus Heads North," Bag of Bones, and "Fair Extension." The inclusion of these stories would add depth and interconnectedness to the fictional world of Derry, offering a fresh and eerie perspective for viewers.
The fact that Welcome to Derry’s It prequel will be set in Stephen King’s infamous small town means that the series could explore more of the author’s stories from this unsettling location. Prolific author Stephen King likes to use the same locations across various novels and short stories. This has allowed the writer to develop an interlinked fictional world with locations like Castle Rock, Derry, Ludlow, and Jerusalem's Lot recurring throughout his work. In 2018, producers took...

Many popular K-dramas include fantastic soundtracks that are just as good if not better than their storylines. In recent years, K-dramas have gained popularity among Western audiences, getting attention for their creative storylines and dynamic characters. With these shows becoming more easily accessible, their popularity is ever-growing.
For those new to the genre, popular K-dramas can get them started on their journey. This might include adaptations like 18 Again or award-winning shows like Beyond Evil. Others may prefer to get acquainted with the genre through music first. For these individuals, soundtracks exist that provide emotional connection and complex musical compositions, matching up with the storylines and tone of their K-drama.
Secret Garden (2010)
One of the best soundtracks comes from the Cinderella-like story K-drama Secret Garden. The songs on the soundtrack provide just the right balance between fantastical and grounded. Sporting vocals by series star Hyun Bin, “The Man” is the heart of this soundtrack.

The Secret Garden explores themes of health, positivity, and the magic of nature, making it a universally beloved novel with numerous adaptations. Dickon is an important character in the story, described as a kind-hearted young boy who has a deep connection with the natural world. The role of Dickon has been portrayed by five different actors in various screen adaptations, each bringing their own unique interpretation to the beloved character.
Dickon in The Secret Garden is one of the key characters of the classic novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett. The 1911 novel follows 10-year-old Mary Lennox, a wealthy and spoiled British girl who is sent to live on her uncle's estate, Misselthwaite Manor. There in Yorkshire, her sour attitude softens as she learns to appreciate the countryside and the kind staff members who live there. Mary soon learns of a locked and secret garden on the grounds, and it's there she discovers the beauty of nature.

Most Stephen King movie adaptations are hit or miss, often failing to capture the terrifying elements that make his novels so great. The movie adaptations of Pet Sematary, Secret Window, Secret Garden, Cell, Firestarter, and Graveyard Shift all fall short compared to their novel counterparts in terms of scaring audiences. It is a prime example of how most Stephen King adaptations struggle to be scarier than the original novels, and even when they do succeed, they often require significant changes to the story.
While some movie adaptations of Stephen King's novels honor their source materials by recreating their terrors, others do not even close to matching the quality of their book counterparts. In his career as a writer, Stephen King has published over 60 novels and 200 short stories. Even on screen, the author is no less prolific, with many of his short stories and novels having multiple remakes and adaptions. Time and again,...

Asian Movie Pulse’s tribute to anime gave me an excuse to revisit “Spirited Away”, often dubbed as one of the greatest anime movies of all time. Iconic Studio Ghibli’s production, which with Oscar (and a bag of other awards) reached a worldwide audience. Securing Endeavor Content to represent a second season of a cross-cultural fantasy rom-com four years after the show’s debut was good news for “Dramaworld” and its producer, Korean-American company Third Culture Content.
So, too, was the attachment of major talent, including Daniel Dae Kim, Henry Lau, and feted Korean actor Ha Ji-won.
But, arguably, the greater triumph was managing to produce the show this spring. It was a time when Covid-19 was expanding from epidemic to pandemic, and most other film and TV series were going on hiatuses of unknown duration.
“Dramaworld” originally aired on Rakuten-owned streamer Viki but Endeavor Content is now shopping both seasons around. Children’s fantasy media has long been one of Britain’s chief exports. From Peter Pan to The Chronicles of Narnia, to Harry Potter, the UK has been entertaining audiences around the world with stories of magic. But though Frances Hodgson Burnett’s 1911 novel, The Secret Garden, is a classic of British children’s literature, it is not an example of children’s fantasy. Nor did it ever pretend to be. Rather Burnett’s prose led its readers through a tale of catharsis and wonder that takes place completely in a setting that obeys recognizable laws of horticulture. We need both kinds of stories. One kind of story allows us to escape into a world where anything is possible while the other suggests that we can find happiness and healing in a world that acts like our own. The distinction matters, and it’s one that the latest film adaptation of The Secret Garden,...

There’s always been magic in Frances Hodgson Burnett’s “The Secret Garden,” a classic children’s story that, for all its harsh lessons about the nature of the world, relies on some pretty strange twists of fate to deliver its story. We’re talking, of course, about the robin redbreast, a cheery, chattering little bird responsible for one of the story’s biggest revelations. While Burnett’s 1911 novel never shied from the rough stuff — like most of her work, the book is concerned with orphans and illness — it used real-world pains to make its pleasures richer. And still, even it relied on a plucky robin to guide its heroine, the sassy Mary Lennox, to a literal key that opens the titular Secret Garden.
Yes, magic is part of Burnett’s world, but the story’s latest big-screen adaptation stretches that concept to strange ends, and not all of them benefit the film.

Bruce Springsteen’s music has always been cinematic, which is one reason why so many of his songs strike a chord at the movies.
Friday is the premiere of the film, “Blinded By The Light,” which tells the story of a British-Pakistani teenager and his journey after discovering the Boss’ music. Based on the book, “Greetings From Bury Park,” by Sarfraz Manzoor, the film makes excellent use of Springsteen classics like “Jungleland” and “The Promised Land.”
But no matter where they’re used, Springsteen’s songs enliven film scenes. And the man himself does as much in “High Fidelity” — a fantasy sequence from the 2000 film in which he gives advice to John Cusack’s character as he strums his Fender and tells him to “move on down the road.”
Which is what we’re going to do, after serving up these six great examples of Springsteen music used well in films.

Announcing very possibly the first clean sales sweep on one of the major new titles brought onto the market at Cannes, Studiocanal, part of Vivendi’s Canal Plus Group, sold out worldwide on the David Heyman-produced “The Secret Garden.”
Studiocanal’s notably all-women sales team, overseen by distribution chief Anna Marsh and headed by international sales chief Anne Chérel, has also licensed “The Lost Prince,” to be directed by Academy Award winning Michel Hazanavicius (“The Artist”), to near all the world outside the U.S.
The sales, compounded by bullish first results on Studiocanal’s Romain Gavras’ “The World is Yours,” beg the question as to the possible depth of Cannes’ pre-sales market. This year’s market buzz has, to date at least, centered very largely on a narrow band of high-profile titles backed by standout director, star or producer talent.

During the entire final season of Once Upon a Time, Weaver aka Rumple has taken a backseat. In "Secret Garden," he seems to be just one step behind Gothel, but he knows everything that's going on -- he was woken up a while ago when he was shot. But he was probably awake even before that. So why is he letting all of these evil characters hurt the people he loves, like his grandson Henry? I know that he needs to find the Guardian so he can pass on the dagger and finally be with Belle again, but at what cost with this new curse that's brought everyone to Hyperion Heights? I think it's about time Rumple end this once and for all so everyone can have their happy ending before the series ends.

Farewell, Rapunzel.
On Once Upon a Time Season 7 Episode 11 the polarizing character lost her when she sacrificed herself to save Drizella, and it made for an exciting hour of this soon-to-conclude ABC drama.
It was only a matter of time before Rapunzel redeemed herself, and it was obvious she was gearing up to swap places with her daughter the moment Drizella was caught inside Gothel's spell.
The icy demeanor from Rapunzel towards Drizella was at times cumbersome, but having the mother-daughter duo at odds has made for some of the best moments of this rebooted season of the series.
If you watch Once Upon a Time online, you will already know the true extent of their hatred for one another, but it's a big thing to have one of them die for the other.
I'm not so sure Drizella would have done the same thing had the roles been reversed.

This Stephen King article contains major spoilers.
Stephen King, the master of horror and one of America's most important writers, has enjoyed a very successful career, thanks to his prolific pen and the many adaptations his tales have inspired, whether it be in the movies or on TV. While for many fans, King means creepy novels like It or 'Salem's Lot and sprawling epics like The Dark Tower series and The Stand, others have flocked around the stuff based on his work. And for good reason: has any other modern writer inspired as many cinematic classics? King might even be the best-adapted writer in literary history. At least it's easy for a nerd to think so.
