Tiger 3 will be a tribute to the late Girish Karnad (known for playing RAW Chief Shenoy from the previous Tiger movies) after he died back in 2019 due to a health issue.

Fifth movie in Yash Raj Films' Spy Universe after EK THA TIGER(2012), TIGER ZINDA HAI(2017), WAR(2019) and PATHAAN(2023). Shahrukh Khan who played the titular role in the latter is rumoured to make cameo as the character in this movie in the same vein as Salman Khan made a cameo in Shahrukh Khan's.

Emraan Hashmi's character and the movie's main antagonist Atish Rehman is partially inspired by Solomon Lane, the arch nemesis of Tom Cruise's character Ethan Hunt in the MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE franchise and essayed by English actor Sean Harris. Both villains are veteran intelligence operatives who went rogue, both sport a beard and are seen wearing long trench coats in most scenes, both share an ambiguous relationship with the female protagonists of their respective series'(Harris' with Rebecca Ferguson, Hashmi in this movie with Katrina Kaif) and unlike other terrorist masterminds both are driven by political ideology rather than monetary profit.

This is the first collaboration of Yash Raj Films with Emraan Hashmi, who will be playing the film's main antagonist. Previously, Hashmi has been the most frequent feature in films produced by his uncle Mahesh Bhatt and Balaji Telefilms.
