There’s been a lot of buzz lately about Avengers: Secret Wars, and now fans are wondering if we might see the Wasp team up with Wolverine in the movie. It all started when Evangeline Lilly, who plays Hope van Dyne in the MCU, shared a sweet post about her time at Supanova Comic Con & Gaming.
In the post, she included a photo of herself standing next to someone dressed as Wolverine. The cosplay was solid, but what got fans talking was what happened in the comments.
One fan joked that the photo was her way of confirming she’d have scenes with Wolverine in Secret Wars. Lilly didn’t say yes or no, she just replied with a wink. That little tease was enough to send fans into speculation mode.

Delroy Lindo opened up about Marvel’s long-delayed Blade reboot starring Mahershala Ali, which he describes as having “just went off the rails.”
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly to promote Ryan Coogler’s lauded Sinners, the veteran actor commented on the reported creative differences that have plagued the remake, about the Wesley Snipes-originated Daywalker vampire slayer from Marvel’s comics.
“When Marvel came to me, they seemed to be really interested in my input,” the Da 5 Bloods star said. “And in the various conversations I had with producers, the writer, the director at the time, it was all leading into being very inclusive. It was really exciting conceptually, but it was also exciting in terms of the character that was going to form. And then, for whatever reason, it just went off the rails.”

‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Directors on Their Successful Series Revamp and Season 2’s “Resistance Tale”
[This story contains spoilers for Daredevil: Born Again season one.]
Whenever a production has to use the phrase “creative overhaul,” one would assume that the battle lines have been drawn between incoming and existing creative teams. But that scenario couldn’t be further from the truth in the case of the Daredevil: Born Again directors: Justin Benson, Aaron Moorhead, Michael Cuesta, Jeffrey Nachmanoff and David Boyd. Their unified aim was to simply create a satisfying follow-up for the fans of the preceding Daredevil series, including lead actors Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio.
The original Drew Goddard-created Daredevil series streamed on Netflix from 2015 to 2018, and on the heels of Marvel announcing Daredevil: Born Again in 2022, the previous three seasons starring Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil and D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin transitioned to Disney+. Daredevil: Born Again then entered into production in early 2023 before shutting down mid-year due to the WGA and SAG strikes. During the hiatus,...

Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine is arguably one of the most memorable superheroes, especially post the boom of comic book movies. The character enjoyed immense popularity in comic books before making the jump to the big screen in the early 2000s, kick-starting a frenzy for modern superhero movies.
Despite years of a prolific presence, the character was criticized for his apparent uselessness by comedian Pete Holmes. During an interview, Holmes, who is known for parodying several superheroes, including the X-Men, described why he felt Wolverine was worthless. Here are some comic book moments that might convince Holmes about the true prowess of Wolverine.

Avengers: Doomsday could see Anthony Mackie's Captain America lead a new-look version of the revered supergroup. However, the Avengers will share the spotlight with the X-Men as Marvel enters its mutant era, and Mackie wants to see his Sentinel of Liberty team with a few of them.
Speaking with Screen Rant, Mackie talked about his favorite X-Men characters and which of the superpowered mutants he'd love to see Sam Wilson join forces with in Doomsday. One name he's especially enamored with is James Marsden's Scott Summers/Cyclops, a character he's admired since childhood. "Look, I am a big Cyclops fan. That's my favorite X-Men," he said.
"I have a Cyclops action figure on my key chain that I've had since high school," Mackie continued. "When I was in high school, the X-Men cartoon was really big, and this was before the movies. I've always been a huge Cyclops fan,...

Marvel's Phase 5 has certainly had its ups and downs. That said, the movies and shows that make up the fifth (and current) phase of the MCU have collectively done some pretty exciting things for the MCU timeline. While there are still a few movies and shows left at the time of writing, Phase 5 is close to nearing its conclusion.
By the time it concludes, the McU's Phase 5 will consist of 15 projects released between 2023-2025. Including 6 movies and 9 shows on Disney+, Phase 5 has certainly been more tumultuous than its preceding MCU phases. However, the way in which it pays off elements from Phase 4 while also setting up Phase 6 is pretty exciting, featuring some of the best MCU moments of all time. To that end, here's Marvel's Phase 5 explained in full, which projects have already been released, and which are still on the way ahead of Phase 6.

Fall swoops in on much cooler, football-fanatic winds, but the NFLs return didn't slow No. 1 Beetlejuice Beetlejuice one iota at the box office. As it turns out, theres still plenty of life left in the mischievous ole ghost with the most over $100 millions worth, in fact. Believe it or not, 36 years may have passed since Tim Burtons original film hit theaters back in 1988, but the long-awaited sequel, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, didnt miss a beat over its opening weekend.
Michael Keatons return as the beloved character made an estimated $110 million domestically (per The Numbers) en route to the top spot. In fact, Beetlejuice Beetlejuices opening-weekend numbers were good enough to approach the all-time record for the most money made by a film premiering in the month of September, as only $13 million separated Burtons highly anticipated sequel and the current record holder, It.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has never been one to be afraid of introducing some totally unexpected characters into their movies, much to the delight of comic book fans. It can be difficult to keep track of the hordes of characters introduced by the movies of the MCU, from gallant heroes to devious supervillains and every shade of morality in between. The franchise is no stranger to unleashing some bizarre new cast members in various movies, with several still hard to believe even years later.
Unlike more gritty and grounded superhero properties like the Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy, the MCU doesn't shy away from the inherent silliness of many comic book characters. Still, it can be shocking when the series pulls some obscure names from the comics, letting audiences get familiar with even the most oddball of superheroes. In other cases, the MCU has also demonstrated a boldness when...

The MCU may be about to make huge changes to comic book lore with Robert Downey Jr.'s casting as Doctor Doom - but it can be easy to forget that Iron Man established this precedent. Iron Man launched the MCU into the stratosphere in 2008, preceding nearly two decades of iconic Marvel Comics adaptations that are still going strong with Deadpool & Wolverine being its most recent triumph. Nevertheless, it is impossible to ignore the apparent effect that Robert Downey Jr.'s departure has had on the MCU.
This has led many to surmise that Robert Downey Jr.s MCU return has been orchestrated to help recapture the incredible success of the Infinity Saga. While this remains the most cynical reasoning behind Marvel's decision to recast Rdj, there is no denying that having someone who is arguably the MCUs most famous contributor embody a role as iconic as Doctor Doom raises...

Deadpool & Wolverine featured plenty of blink and you'll miss it Easter Eggs, but I hope one Scarlet Witch reference means that the character is coming back. Yes, there were plenty of incredible cameos, and it was cool to see the Fantasticar in the void, but what I really want from the MCU is for Wanda Maximoff to come back. Her life in the MCU was riddled with sadness and grief, and the character deserved so much better from her time in the limelight.
Despite losing her parents and becoming an orphan, she pushed forward with her brother to make a better life. Then, when she lost her brother, she found a home with the Avengers. Then, when the Avengers split up and took sides, Wanda ran away with Vision to try and have a quiet life away from contention. But just as things always did, her world came crashing down,...

2024 has been a good year for movies with several huge releases already out, including Inside Out 2, Deadpool & Wolverine, Dune: Part 2, and many more, but there are more exciting films still to come before the year is out. Chris Evans' costume from Fantastic Four was drastically updated in Deadpool & Wolverine, and I am still disappointed by it. By the time of Deadpool & Wolverine's ending, I had minimal complaints about the movie. More so than any Multiverse Saga film aside from Spider-Man: No Way Home, I thought Deadpool & Wolverine used the promise of variants and cameos most effectively. Not only were the cameos of Deadpool & Wolverine well-chosen from a purely exciting standpoint, but they also perfectly fit the themes of the film's story.
Perhaps the most surprised I was throughout the film was when Chris Evans was introduced. From the Deadpool & Wolverine Easter eggs to the Avengers to the ultimate reveal that Evans was back as Johnny Storm rather than Captain America, the cameo and how it was handled will live long in my memory. However, despite being overly exciting and stoking my excitement for the...

For many comic book fans, one of the most enjoyable and talked-about sequences in Deadpool and Wolverine saw Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) jump to various different timelines/universes in search of a Logan (Hugh Jackman) variant to replace his world's anchor being after escaping from the Tva.
The Merc with a Mouth encountered several alternate reality versions of the iconic X-Man, including Old Man Logan, "Short King" Logan, Wolvie in a John Byrne-inspired brown suit as he faces off with the Hulk, Man of Steel star Henry Cavill as the "Cavillrine," and - arguably the coolest of them all - Age of Apocalypse Wolverine.

Is there a main cast member of the X-Men franchise more underutilized than James Marsden's Cyclops? Seriously, the iconic leader of Marvel Comics' most notable mutant team of superheroes is often overshadowed by the hulking presence of Hugh Jackman's Wolverine, and after movies like Logan and Deadpool & Wolverine, it's not hard to see why. But Scott Summers deserved better, and while the X-Men prequels tried to thrust a young Cyclops (played by Tye Sheridan) front and center, James Marsden's version of the character has been all-but-forgotten. Despite the Marvel Cinematic Universe bringing back so many old characters for their Multiverse Saga, Marsden's Cyclops is one that always seems to slip through the cracks, including in his own franchise.

Deadpool & Wolverine, featuring Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool and Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, was one of the year’s most eagerly awaited films. Fans had long anticipated seeing these two iconic characters team up, and the movie delivered, leaving audiences thrilled with its story.

However, while Evans’ return was a fantastic surprise, it also means we’ll never see the long-desired showdown between Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. in the MCU—a matchup fans have been hoping for since Civil War. Curious why? Read on to find out!

Hugh Jackman’s portrayal of Wolverine has been nigh perfect in live-action films. However, there seems to be one criticism that keeps coming back to the actor, despite his stellar performance as Logan Howlett. Among the more important cameos in the movie was that of Chris Evans, who returned to the MCU—albeit not in the way you might have predicted—in one of the best moments of the movie.

While Jennifer Lawrence has been under the radar in the recent past, the actress was the ‘it girl’ of Hollywood in the 2010s as she starred in multiple acclaimed films and blockbusters. Gaining global stardom due to her role as Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games franchise. She was also the highest-paid actress in 2014.
In 2013, Lawrence reportedly achieved a rare feat. While she earned critical acclaim for her role in Silver Linings Playbook and won the Oscar for Best Actress, she also headlined the year’s highest-grossing domestic release The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. The only other actor to do this was reportedly Tom Hanks in 1995 with Toy Story and Forrest Gump.

Fresh off the record-breaking success of Deadpool and Wolverine, Marvel Studios is getting its franchise back on track. The previous year had been uncharacteristically rough for the studio after a number of box office failures, but it's back in the $1 billion club thanks to its most recent installment.
With that, attention has now shifted to what's next for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Immediately, we have Disney Plus series Agatha All Along to look forward to, which will no doubt be a fun spooky standalone series during the Halloween period. And speaking of Disney Plus, rumor has it that Marvel has gone back to the drawing board when planning the next chapter of the Multiverse Saga.
With those rumors have come reports of cancellations and renewals, as Marvel is seemingly looking at capitalizing on what was successful, while resting anything that wasn't. And among those reports is a new one, backing...

There's mounting clamor to cast Morena Baccarin in the DC Universe; the actor even hinted at her preferred parts. New fan art revives a petition to cast her as an iconic Batman villain.
Morena Baccarin caused quite a stir at the recent Fan Expo Canada after saying she wanted to be a villain in James Gunn's DC Universe. The actor has been gunning for a part in a DC film since the height of the Dceu; she could have been cast in any tentpole film, but especially in Batman v Superman, Birds of Prey, or even The Suicide Squad. Baccarin has now confirmed she's gunning to play Catwoman (per X user Agents of Fandom), most recently portrayed by Zo Kravitz in The Batman. One fan even rendered an image of what she could look like in character on Instagram (she also sports a pixie cut).

After taking in $41.5 million across Friday and preview screenings for the second-biggest opening day ever for a September release, Tim Burton's Beetlejuice sequel looks set to claim the No. 1 spot at the domestic box office this weekend - a position Deadpool and Wolverine has held (bar a brief Alien: Romulus takeover) since it arrived in theaters over six weeks ago.
Bo estimates were always fairly high for the superhero team-up movie, but it has gone on to exceed all expectations, recently passing Joker to become the highest-grossing R-rated movie of all time.
Now, D&w has crossed $608 million domestically to become the 15th highest-grossing movie ever in the US.
Marvel Studios really needed this win after its last few movies underperformed (The Marvels was actually the lowest-grossing MCU instalment), and we'd say Kevin Feige will soon (if he hasn't already) be on to director Shawn Levy, Ryan Reynolds and...

Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber used to be one of Hollywood’s power couples. Their love, which lasted for more than a decade, was full of laughter, joy, and an everlasting bond.

Hugh Jackman played a more comic-accurate Wolverine in Deadpool & Wolverine, and new art shows one of his variants interacting more meaningfully in the MCU movie. Deadpool & Wolverine's cameos were a highlight of the film, and one of the most notable was a short version of Wolverine, with Hugh Jackman's face superimposed on a much shorter actor's body. Standing at 6 ft 2 in, Jackman is nearly a foot taller than Wolverine's canonical height of 5 ft 3 in. However, new fan art shows the shorter version of his hero in an important scene in the film.
In a recent post to X by Marvel Latin News, the titular heroes of Deadpool & Wolverine are shown walking in front of Liefeld's Just Feet in a shot many will recognize from the trailer and the movie itself. There is, however, a significant adjustment made, with Wolverine in his yellow and black suit standing about a foot shorter than Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool.

With Deadpool & Wolverine, the MCU has finally opened the door to each and every Marvel comic book character that has ever been made to appear in the films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Except for Sub-Mariner and the Hulk, at least in their own features. Or Conan the Barbarian. And NFL SuperPro, with his ally Almighty Dollar, are a long shot at best. But despite the few exceptions, that's it. Every character that can be in the MCU is in the MCU. Or are they? There's one character that has yet to appear, one that has taken the printed page of Marvel Comics by storm, powered the digital comic format, and can take a bite out of crime: Jeff the Land Shark. And I'm furious that this exceptional character has yet to grace the silver screen.

The MCU has a packed lineup of projects set for 2025, 2026, and beyond. While several movies are currently in development and impacted by the strikes, none are as highly anticipated as Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, which are expected to carry on the MCU’s tradition of grand crossovers.
Fans have high expectations for Secret Wars, with nearly a hundred rumored characters set to appear. We’ve previously covered speculation that Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine will be among them.
The latest notable rumor involves a character who has only appeared in the MCU in a technical capacity—Reed Richards. As you may know, the Fantastic Four will officially join the MCU with the release of Fantastic Four: First Steps next year. Pedro Pascal will portray Reed Richards, while John Krasinski previously played a variant of the character in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

The MCU’s Multiversal Saga has introduced numerous variants and a surge in fan service. While some returns of legacy characters, such as in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, received mixed reactions, others, like No Way Home and Deadpool & Wolverine, were well-received and successful at the box office.

Wolverine may be one of the greatest heroes in the Marvel Universe, a valiant member of the X-Men who has time and again put his own life on the line to protect others, but hes also a vicious killer who wont think twice about (quite literally) eviscerating his enemies. Indeed, Wolverine is the best there is at what he does for a reason, as the thing he does best is kill people - not very nice at all.
Logan doesnt enjoy the act of killing like some other Weapon X antiheroes/villains (such as Deadpool or Sabretooth), but that doesnt detract from the fact that hes very good at it, and that skill came from years of practice. The action genre is full of exciting set pieces, dramatic character studies, and thoughtful direction, with some films daring to push the envelope and offer compact narrative storytelling. When an action film steps back and allows the plot structure of a film to truly develop, it must then navigate a series of clichs and decide whether it is going to pursue those or stray from them. For as long as stories have existed, the notion of a 'heroic sacrifice' has been a possibility.
In the realm of cinema, heroic sacrifices are a dime a dozen, and they're especially plentiful in the action genre. That said, some end up feeling pretty lackluster when not delivered with the gravitas an audience expects from such a drastic story beat. But when a heroic sacrifice feels earned and walks the line between being shocking and making total sense of the trajectory of the hero,...

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is over halfway through its Multiverse Saga storyline now and the endgame of it all seems clearer than ever. That's not because it's at the halfway point. The franchise had been having more downs than ups until earlier this year when the game-changing release of Deadpool and Wolverine was matched in its awesome response by the announcement that Robert Downey Jr. would return to the franchise as the saga's new major villain, Doctor Doom.
Anything is possible in the multiverse, including replacing your major villain with a new one (as Downey's Doom will now replace Jonathan Majors' Kang the Conqueror), so bringing back the Iron Man star in a new role was doable. He reunited with his Kate & Leopold co-star Hugh Jackman to play his antagonistic brother in the film.
