Naomi Judd, the country music icon who died on April 30 at the age of 75, died of a self-inflicted firearm wound, her daughter, Ashley Judd, disclosed on Thursday morning.
Ashley Judd made an appearance on “Good Morning America” to speak with Diane Sawyer about her mother’s death and how the Judd family has been coping in the weeks since. She said her family wanted to control the flow of information about the death before an autopsy was released.
“She used a weapon…my mother used a firearm,” Ashley told Sawyer. “So that’s the piece of information that we are very uncomfortable sharing, but understand that we’re in a position that if we don’t say it someone else is going to.”
Ashley said that she was deputized by her family to discuss her mother’s death in order to shed light on the disease and shine a light...

When you think of Naomi Judd, you probably think about her eclectic dresses, embellished blazers and twangy voice. The five-time Grammy winner (and mother of actress Ashley Judd and singer Wynonna Judd) has a fearless sense of style that has put her in the limelight almost as much as her strong pipes have. With her countless chart-topping songs, Judd has become somewhat of a god-like figure in the country music industry.
While she has toured the world as one half of the singing duo The Judds, Naomi has kept her wardrobe choices, erm, interesting. Let's just say she isn't afraid of having all eyes on her, and her feathered hair, batwing sleeve dresses and crushed velvet suits are a testament to that statement.

I certainly tip my cowboy hat to Wynonna Judd for not only perfecting her powerful sound as one half of the legendary country duo The Judds, but also staying true to her masculine-meets-feminine style. From belting out songs like "Mama He's Crazy" and "Why Not Me" alongside her mother Naomi, or stepping into the spotlight solo with the albums "Wynonna" and "Tell Me Why," Wynonna's musical flair isn't complete without flashy tuxedo jackets, black and moody cloaks and bright red hair.
While the Grammy award-winning singer and New York Times bestselling author of "Coming Home to Myself" might want to take some style cues from her younger sis Ashley Judd and ease up on the eyelashes and self-tanner, no other country star since Dolly Parton has taught us to that it's okay to take risks. Besides, there's always makeup remover wipes.

Can you guess the best show on Oprah’s TV network, Own? Sure, The Gayle King Show is fun. And Our America With Lisa Ling is fascinating, as is Master Class. But the best show on the flailing channel is easily Oprah 25: Behind The Scenes, an incredibly rewarding peek into Oprah’s life at her production company and what went into the final season of Oprah’s talk show. Even though it’s a reality show, it doesn’t possess that layer of filth that accompanies most “documentary-style” garbage since there’s really no one to hate. It’s pretty fun. Plus, Oprah’s dog is gorgeous. Meanwhile, the network boasts other reality shows that focus on The Judds, Sarah Ferguson, and Ryan and Tatum O’Neal. So, basically, everyone has a reality show now. You will have a reality show, and it will be about how you — like Sinbad,...

Los Angeles, CA, United States (Ahn Entertainment) - In what seems to be a refusal to be outdone by her daughter, Naomi Judd has revealed that she was also sexually abused when she was a child. The country singer said her first memory was "being sexually abused."
Amid controversies her daughter Ashley Judd created with the release of her memoir "All That Is Bitter & Sweet," Naomi chatted with the ladies of "The View" Thursday to promote her upcoming Own reality series "The Judds" with older daughter Wynonna.
She said, "I never told a single soul until about two years ago we were sitting at our kitchen table with our therapist… He asked me what was your first memory?"
"And I said, 'well, it was being sexually abused is my first memory.' He said, 'why didn't you tell your mother?' and then I fell apart because I realized I didn't trust my mother.

This is a terrible story for a mother and her daughters to share. Ashley Judd‘s new memoir, All That Is Bitter & Sweet, must have stirred up some nasty memories for her mother and sister because their own traumatic stories are surfacing. Ashley’s mother, Naomi, and her sister, Wynonna, were on The View yesterday and revealed some really painful past episodes with abuse. Naomi said, “I never told a single soul until about two years ago we were sitting at our kitchen table with our therapist…and he asked me what was your first memory? And I said ‘well, it was being sexually abused is my first memory.’ He said, ‘why didn’t you tell your mother?’ and then I fell apart because I realized I didn’t trust my mother.”

The Judds are back. Bigger and, theoretically, better than ever. At least that's what they said in a recent conference call interview. Naomi and Wynonna's new series The Judds premieres on the Oprah Winfrey Network on Sunday, April 10, and from the sounds of it, the whole experience was one big therapy session.
The pair have been very vocal through the years about the struggles of working with each other for so long. And this docu-series, which follows them on their latest tour, exposes that drama to the world. With therapist Dr. Ted Klontz firmly seated on the tour bus, Naomi and Wynonna hit the road and struggled to overcome the issues that have been haunting them for decades. And the good news is, we get to watch the whole thing.
When asked what they've learned about their relationship Naomi commented, "I will always be her mom.
