Here’s A Look At The Box Office Numbers Of 8 Previous Snow White Films (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Rachel Zegler’s highly controversial live-action remake of Snow White is nearing its release as the latest of countless spins on the fairytale. However, the Disney flick has only been creating headlines for negative reasons, and the biggest factor in its success—potential box office performance—is not looking promising.
With Gal Gadot in tow, Snow White certainly has Cinderella’s magical shoes to fill, be it Walt Disney’s 1937 gamble or last decade’s modern spin with Kristen Stewart and Chris Hemsworth. The Brothers Grimm’s German princess has graced cinema screens repeatedly, and here are 8 of the fairest of all Snow Whites at the box office, as per the numbers.

Snow White is releasing amidst controversy.
All of Disney’s live-action adaptations ruffle some feathers. Usually, it’s a discussion about art or copyright.
Starring Rachel Zegler as the titular fairy tale princess and Gal Gadot as the Queen, this adaptation will once again retell a Brothers Grimm classic.
Adaptations can often be polarizing. But the controversy surrounding this Snow White has little to do with the story.

Sometimes, discussing a controversy means delving into the heart of a complex issue, or questioning whether we can separate a piece of media from a horrible person who is a part of it. Both of those do come up when discussing this film.
But in this case, the first “controversy” about Snow White is neither.

Grimm is one of the most popular fantasy series of the past decade and is undeniably unique. Grimm follows a Portland detective who learns he comes from a mythical line of Grimms, especially gifted humans who possess unique powers, including seeing the true forms of animalistic creatures known as Wesen. Throughout the series, the detective Nick Burkhardt and his friends investigate many cases involving an eclectic range of Wesen and similar creatures.
Grimm is a very creative series and draws its source material from urban legends and fairy tales, mainly from those written by the Brothers Grimm. Occasionally, Grimm even alludes that Wesen are the real figures beyond these fairytales. Grimm transforms this medieval source material into a tale fit for a criminal caper with fantasy flair, paying homage to the fairytale.

After an incredible premiere season, High Potential is walking away as the show that everyone wants more of — this TV Fanatic included.
Not only did the series showcase Kaitlin Olson’s incredible range as an actor, but it also left audiences hooked with outstanding writing and character development.

Derived from the popular French series Haut Potential Intellectual, the story itself is so universal that the American High Potential isn’t even the only version inspired by the original.

A series of life-and-death challenges, a glamorous (dare we say romantic) police gala, and the introduction of a possible Big Bad for next season? Oh yes, High Potential gives good finale.
The ABC procedural wrapped its first season on Tuesday by pitting the LAPD against a sadistic strategist, one whose deadly games tested Morgan’s team like never before. Poor Oz almost died at the bottom of a pool, ultimately saved by Morgan’s quick thinking and Karadec’s even-quicker swimming.

Reboots are all the rage now, and here’s a quick rundown of every network show that is getting the treatment!
“Everything old is new again” surely applies to TV these days. It’s like you can’t flip a channel or put on a streamer without a new take on an old show, some of which went off the air not that long ago. Paramount+ just canceled the revival of Fraiser and some old cable shows like White Collar may get the sequel treatment soon.
For network shows, it looks like reboots won’t be dying anytime soon. Networks rely on name recognition for a TV show and often help if the original actors or creators take part in it. Some shows may seem to not need a reboot, while others are shows fans would love to see coming back.

A lot of children’s stories and fairy tales are getting the horror treatment these days – but fairy tale-inspired horror comedy that we’re hearing some very positive buzz about is director Emilie Blichfeldt’s feature debut The Ugly Stepsister. The movie is set to have its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival today, and in anticipation of its first screening some new images have dropped online. You can check them out at the bottom of this article.
The film is said to be a gory, daring, and unexpected take on the world-famous tale, seen through the eyes of Cinderella’s stepsister, Elvira. As we have mentioned repeatedly in the past, anime seem to experience another golden era, with the titles of quality coming one after the other. The combination of manga adaptations, which remain the most dominant source of anime, with the original scripts (Ona) and the novel adaptations highlight the fact, since the industry seem to have no lack of stories and subsequently content, of quality. Furthemore, the isekai genre, which is the most dominant at the moments seems to present one great title after the other while one of the latest trend, that of the homage/parody of the classic elements of anime has also become prevalent, highlighting the smartness and otaku-ness of their creators.
Without further ado, here are the best anime of 2024, in reverse order, in a list that includes titles whose season or the whole series ended in 2024. The order could definitely be different particulalry close to the top,...

When Grimm debuted in 2011, the ambitious fantasy series took painstaking measures to craft a new world imperceptible to the human eye. The world of the Wesen is hiding in plain sight from regular humans and is only visible to the Wesen themselves and beings known as Grimms, who are charged with balancing the worlds of the humans and the Wesen. Grimm follows a detective named Nick Burkhardt, who learns he is a Grimm and must keep the peace in Portland, Oregon, between the humans and the Wesen.
The world of Grimm is incredibly lush and contains complex cultural narratives and a diverse array of Wesen. There are 132 distinctive types of Wesen in Grimm. Each Wesen species is incredibly distinctive and has unique appearances and associated characteristics. Wesen can run the gamut from adorable to completely terrifying.

Grimm is officially back, but not in the way fans had been expecting. In 2017, the dark fantasy series from NBC finished its six-season run, with a spinoff announced shortly thereafter before being silently canceled as well. After six seasons and 123 episodes, NBC cancelled the monster-filled series “Grimm” back in 2017, but it seems popular shows never quite stay dead in today’s streaming landscape.

The plot and cast of the “Grimm” movie are kept under wraps, but the original series starred David Giuntoli as Portland Homicide Detective Nick Burkhardt, who discovers he is a Grimm, a guardian sworn to protect the balance between humanity and the mythological creatures known as Wesen. Throughout the series, Nick takes on a variety of menacing opponents...

Peacock is considering slipping back into the dark fairytale world of the supernatural drama series Grimm with a new movie.
According to a new report from Deadline, the streaming service is looking to continue with the series with a new movie, one that could potentially launch a franchise. The original series, which is loosely based on the classic Grimm's Fairy Tales by the Brothers Grimm, ran for six seasons and over 120 episodes on NBC from 2011 to 2017. At one point, the network considered a spinoff to explore the Grimm mythology further, but it never came to fruition.
The outlet reports several producers and creators from the original series, including showrunners David Greenwalt and Jim Kouf, are returning for the Universal Television reboot.

Peacock is heading back to the well to revive another hit NBC series from the past. Next up for the streaming service is a new movie that will revisit 14-year-old TV show Grimm.
Per Deadline, it's been revealed that a reboot movie of Grimm is now in development. Josh Berman (Drop Dead Diva) is attached to write the film. As of now, the premise of the film hasn't been revealed, and it's not clear how it will tie into the original series. Reportedly, the film is meant to connect to the TV show in some fashion as a way to be satisfactory for diehard fans, but it's also believed to be written in a way that's accessible for people who never saw the original Grimm. Potentially, the film could launch a new franchise, depending upon how well it is received.

NBC's Grimm, one of the most underrated dark fantasy shows of the past decade, has now hit streaming. Featuring a likable cast that went on to become familiar faces, Grimm followed a supernatural hunter who battled classic fantasy creatures. A forgotten gem from the 2010s, Grimm was a rare instance when the modernization of classic fairy and folk tales worked as a procedural. It's not perfect by any means, especially in the show's latter seasons, but there is enough to keep fantasy lovers invested from start to finish.
All six seasons of Grimm are now available to stream on Peacock. The show stars David Giuntoli as Nicholas "Nick" Burkhardt, a homicide detective who comes from a long line of "Grimms," which have the superhuman ability to see the mythological creatures known as the Wesen. Alongside his partner, Detective Hank (Russell Hornsby), they solve week-to-week mysteries revolving around the Wesen...

Even in the current era of streaming services, police procedural television is still going strong with shows like NCIS, Law & Order: Svu and 9-1-1 continuously pulling in impressive viewership numbers. These shows usually have numerous seasons and fresh plots that force the audience to think. However, for every popular procedural show, there are bound to be some that receive significantly lesser attention, despite being as good as, if not better than popular police procedurals.
These procedurals didn't get proper time in the spotlight. Instead, they either got overshadowed by more famous shows, had concepts that viewers weren't ready for, or simply got lost in the shuffle. From AI-based thrillers like Person of Interest to fantasy cop shows like Grimm, these underrated procedural shows deserve more recognition. They offer the same mystery, thrills, and adrenaline-spiking action that the genre is so well-loved for.

The police procedural Grimm aired on NBC between 2011 and 2017, presenting six seasons worth of terrifying monsters to marvel at. Every season of Grimm seemed to up the ante, bringing new demons and more powerful creatures designed to send shivers down spines. The series mixed crime drama with supernatural horror and fantasy, recalling popular TV shows like The X-Files and Supernatural. However, uniquely, Grimm is inspired by the Brothers Grimm and their Northern European fairy tales. These folk stories provided ample inspiration for Grimm's varied and creative monsters.
Grimm is one of the modern procedural TV shows that redefined the genre, adding a fresh twist to an old concept. Although Grimm got mixed reviews throughout its long tenure on the air, looking back on the show reveals some favorable elements. Despite getting canceled ahead of season 7 due to declining ratings, Grimm was able to reinvent a huge number of fantasy monsters.

When Steve McQueen was casting “Blitz,” his World War II drama about the bombings over London, actress Saoirse Ronan expressed interest.
But there was a hitch. The role of a mother in search of her young son who has gone missing required some singing. So he hopped on a Zoom with Ronan, and they had a deep conversation about their mothers. “It was beautiful,” McQueen tells Variety‘s Awards Circuit Podcast.
But then it came time for that make-or-break question about whether she could carry a tune. Ronan said she could, and even started working with a singing coach.
“I never forget the phone call I got back from the singing coach after a few sessions,” McQueen says, remembering how he braced for that report. The coach returned with good news: “‘Not only can she sing like a bird, it will only get better,'” McQueen recalls hearing back. He immediately offered Ronan the role.

Hollywood tie-in novelist Tim Waggoner discusses his creative process and the constraints of working within the confines of the movie he's adapting.
Waggoner is an accomplished tie-in novelist, with film novelizations like Halloween Kills, XXX: Return of Xander Cage, Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, Alien, Kingsman: The Golden Circle and television novelizations like Supernatural, Grimm and Stargate Sg-1 under his belt. He's written original fiction as well. Waggoner told The Hollywood Reporter about his experience writing for the A24 film trilogy starring Mia Goth. One of the great challenges of being a tie-in novelist is the lack of communication with the original work's creators.

Sometimes Tim Waggoner can make up scenes, and sometimes he can’t.
Take his work on Terrifier 2, a novelization of the popular 2022 killer-clown slasher movie. The studio wanted a 100,000-word prose adaptation of a film that was under two and a half hours, necessitating some creative license from the author. “If Art the Clown is running around killing people, I can just have him kill some more people,” says Waggoner of that book, which published this past October. “At one point in the movie, he’s driving a van, so I’m like, ‘Oh, where’d he get his van?’ So I wrote a scene where he got the van.”
But on Waggoner’s first published works for A24 — book adaptations of the X trilogy — the mandate was different: Don’t complicate writer-director Ti West’s creative vision. And so in X (published Sept. 24), Pearl (Nov. 19) and the upcoming...

The National Film Registry is an important trove of some of the most important movies ever made, with the powerhouse studio Disney having 14 of its own films on the list. Since 1988, the National Film Registry collects and preserves important films, as selected by a public nomination, from the entire history of US cinema. However, with only 25 new entries making the list each year, the registry is set to welcome the 876th through to the 900th entry in December 2024.
With this tight restriction, there are still many more important films in terms of their historical, cultural, and overall significance that have yet to appear on the list. And with the restriction that a film must be 10 years old or more, it leaves room for contributors to nominate notable films from older periods. It’s time again for spooks and frights, and with the original “Charmed” series celebrating its 25th anniversary, it’s also seems like a good time to check out some of TV’s most famous (and infamous) witches.

Audiences will see Morgan and the team deep in the danger and chaos of another case in High Potential Season 1 Episode 4! And I thought the knife-wielding bartender from the previous episode was a slippery situation.
The series certainly isn’t letting off the gas anytime soon. The training wheels are coming off, and it’s time for Morgan to sink or swim.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer changed TV for the better when it debuted on the WB Network in 1997. This supernatural TV show paved the way for what a quality female protagonist looks like today. With complicated love triangles between humans and vampires, complex characters, intense storylines, and a stellar cast, several shows have used Buffy the Vampire Slayer as the road map to success.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer's popularity is still cemented in pop culture nearly two decades later. Its spin-off, Angel, ended a few years after the original, leaving Buffy fans in need of a similar show to watch. High on the list is Grimm, a dark, supernatural series about monsters and fairy tales that's been underappreciated for years. Following one of the last descendants of the Grimms, who've been fighting evil creatures for generations, this is a show Buffy the Vampire Slayer fans will love.

Parker Finn's 2022 horror film "Smile" has a novel premise and a monster that is difficult to describe. The film begins when the lead character, a therapist named Rose (Sosie Bacon), has a strange encounter with a student, Laura (Caitlin Stasey). Laura is in a panic, having spent several day beset by hallucinations. She has been seeing people she knows appearing out of nowhere and grinning at her fiendishly. She knows these people are, in fact, a singular shapeshifting demon of some kind, and it is encouraging her to die by suicide. Then, as she predicted, Laura also pastes on a bleak, intense smile, and slits her throat right in front of Rose.
Rose soon begins experiencing similar hallucinations, wherein people she knows appear in her mind's eye, all of them wearing a scary rictus. Rose soon discovers that the grinning entity is an ancient supernatural creature that feeds on trauma.

Also starring Gillian Anderson, White Bird is a moving, beautifully-shot and sensitively-told family drama from director Marc Forster, who also directed Neverland. The film is essentially a young adult tale, offering a coming-of-age,...

As one of the most popular cartoon characters of all time, its only natural that Garfield would find himself crossing paths with the stars of other comic strips. Since Jim Davis comic first debuted in 1978, it has left an indelible mark on the world of comic strips. Garfield has inspired loving tributes, satirical critiques, internet parody comics, and everything in between.
Unlike other comic properties, like Marvel and DCs superhero comic books, newspaper comic strips dont tend to see a lot of crossovers or shared universes. But the stars of the funny pages will still interact from time to time, and Garfield is no exception. Here are the best times Garfield has crossed over with other beloved comics.
Garfield and Jon Attend Blondie's 75th Anniversary August 2005
On the whole, the community of newspaper comic strip cartoonists tends to be a supportive one, particularly when it comes to stalwarts like Blondie.
