The Sweet Magnolias cast in season 2 saw many characters return, with some new stars being promoted to series regulars. The romantic drama continued to focus on Maddie, Helen, and Dana Sue, the group of friends trying to better their small community in Serenity. Sweet Magnolias season 1 finale delivered some shocking twists that were explored in season 2, above all, the car crash at the ending that saw Kyle being extracted unconscious from his brother’s car. The other passenger’s identity was left unknown until season 2 revealed it was Nellie Lewis, and she was luckily still alive.

Sweet Magnolias season 2 saw Dana Sue juggling a reconciliation with her husband Ronnie and a new relationship with farmer Jeremy. Sweet Magnolias season also showed a blossoming new relationship for Helen, who can finally explore what she feels for chef Erik. Like season 1, Sweet Magnolias season 2 was based on the book series by Sherryl Woods.

We don’t even have the full list of movies for the 2022 It’s a Wonderful Lifetime Holiday slate, but the more names that are added, the more must-see it sounds. The latest announcement includes a Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman reunion with Jane Seymour and Joe Lando, Grammy winners Toni Braxton and Kirk Franklin executive producing, and Jodie Sweetin joining the Lifetime holiday family to kick off the slate on November 5. These three new films join previously announced ones including Santa Bootcamp starring Rita Moreno and directed by Melissa Joan Hart, Steppin’ into the Holidays with Mario Lopez and Jana Kramer, A New Orleans Noel starring Patti Labelle and Keshia Knight Pulliam from EP Whoopi Goldberg, and A Country Christmas Harmony with Brooke Elliott. Lifetime is upping its holiday movie game by adding three movies to its 2022 It’s a Wonderful Lifetime movie slate, which will include a reunion of Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman stars Jane Seymour and Joe Lando in a flick executive produced by Toni Braxton.

A Christmas Spark follows a widow (Seymour) who has lost her zest for life and given up on ever finding love again. She reluctantly takes on the job of directing the town’s Christmas pageant and soon finds herself falling for her leading man (Lando), the town’s most eligible bachelor.

A Christmas Spark is produced by Lighthouse Pictures and is being distributed by Sony Pictures Television. Braxton, Stephen Bulka and Jamie Goehring are executive producing. Rhonda Baraka directs from a script by Eirene Tran Donohue.

Lifetime is reuniting “Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman” co-stars Jane Seymour and Joe Lando in a holiday movie this year, Variety can exclusively announce. The duo will star in “A Christmas Spark,” executive produced by Toni Braxton. Variety can also reveal that the network’s “It’s a Wonderful Lifetime” lineup will also feature two more films on its 2022 slate: “Merry Swissmas,” starring Jodie Sweetin and Tim Rozon; and “Kirk Franklin’s the Night Before Christmas,” starring Naturi Naughton and Luke James.

“A Christmas Spark,” written by Eirene Tran Donohue, produced by Lighthouse Pictures and distributed by Sony Pictures Television, follows recently widowed Molly (Seymour) who decides to visit her daughter for Christmas. There, she signs on to direct the town’s Christmas pageant and finds herself falling for Hank (Lando), the town’s most eligible bachelor.
