Some movies you see and wonder where the writer came up with the idea. Sparrows Dance rings with the authenticity that the screenwriter has a lot of the problems that the protagonist has.
Slow moving, slow building.
An ultra-low budget flic but ultra-high quality work by the two actors and the director and cinematographer.
Fascinating to watch the main character struggle with her agoraphobia. One of those issues, if you don't have it it's hard to imagine it.
At the end of the movie when she goes to the cupboard - well, I won't tell you what happens but watching it I didn't know what she would do.
Worth watching.

Well, I saw this one and Oblivion the same night. I plunged into Sparrows dance at the first second and emerged at the last one and stopped looking to Oblivion after 45 minutes to continue some readings not being in the mood of spoiling the sweetness and the happiness of the first movie... And I'm a sci-fi fan...
Well written, very well played, intelligent. 150 K bucks of budget and the other 120 Millions bucks and ten times less intelligence :P
And discovery of Hanshan (googled it :p), Fats Navarro and Baby Dayliner (thanks to Shazam).
See it with your loved one, you won't be disappointed ;)

This is not your run-of-the-mill romantic comedy. It is obviously a low budget film, but it lacks nothing a higher budget film might have. It is actually a plus that the movie was frugal.
The characters were played well and the chemistry worked. The movie seemed to go quickly although the story was a slower pace. I enjoyed watching it, but was disappointed when the movie seemed to end prematurely.
If you want lots of laughs and occasional silliness, check out a Paul Rudd movie or something. This movie is serious and is based solely in dialog.

I would give this show 15stars. Relates to the era, the boy, the girl, and a sweet romantic movie. What can I say these two, Marin Ireland and Paul Sparks, are perfect. Like peanut butter to the jelly sandwich? I hope you give this film a watch. So so good.
If you grew up in the 50-60 era - you will so enjoy and relate this. We all have our quirks and these two are just darling together. I just love, love, loved this film. A boy a girl and love, does it get any better than that. NOPE !
A superb little movie that Hollywood seems to have forgotten how to make.
Simply put, it's about an agrophobic young woman who meets the plumber that comes to fix her toilet.
The best thing about the movie is the delicate dance that plays out between the two leads and the director. The characters seem very normal, even though they have differing characteristics. Conversation flows and we learn everything about our characters very organically.
It's quite short (about an hour and twenty minutes) and the ending fits the feel of the movie perfectly.
Why don't they make romantic movies anymore? This made me pine for yesteryear.
