Fantastic...

...contrary to misguided, inept reviewers who have some axe to grind with regards to Alex. Get over it. He's a fan favorite, markjmckenna.

Farm series with Ruth Goodman, Peter Ginn and Alex Langlands.

When can we have another series like these ones. I cannot tell you how many times I have washed them. I absolutely love them. I have learned so much from the war Farm, the Victorian farm, The, Edwardian Farm, the Castle one... Oh gosh, I cannot get enough. I know it hasn't been a long time since you have done one of them, but is there any chance that you guys can get back together and do more? They gotta be other themes you can teach us from. I also loved the one in that island. I can't remember The title right now, but that was a fun One to watch.

I always go back to them and have watched them multiple times. Maybe a farm after the first world war... I don't know. I can't think of a period, but please, please please please, make another series, or maybe you can do the same period. But different economic classes. Maybe show Ines how a super rich farm would have work Victorian time, so was the servant plus the owners of the place. I don't know, you guys Do it so well.

Fascinating

We really enjoyed this series, the farm is a few miles upriver from us and my husband knows a lot of the people featured.

The only thing wrong with the episodes is that they persistently mispronounce Morwellham.

If the programme gets a local on to patronise they pronounce it properly but then the following voice-over goes back to saying it incorrectly.

It's Morwell-ham.

Not Morwellum... The programme makers were told this at the time, but hey... it's only stupid yokels... so they took no notice.

They were from the Home Counties so knew better.

Every time some incomer arrives they have to be told the way to pronounce the name but quite a few just carry on saying it 'the emmet way'.

(Emmet = tourists,.. or just someone not from your village)

Good

A follow up to the previous Victorian Farm we're again joined by Ruth Goodman, Peter Ginn, and Alex Langlands, as we follow the trio of historians and archeologists as they live on a historical Victorian Edwardian era British farm throughout the seasons of a calendar year, as an explorations into daily life on the farm how it would have been around a hundred years ago. I loved the original, and at double the length with 12 episodes and focusing at the cusp of the age of industrialization, so much has changed, the exploration of so many new technologies was constantly interesting and came with some depth that in hindsight feels missing from the original. From the novel (hand pumped) vacuum cleaner, to copper mining, or artificial trout hatcheries, they tackle them all and its a pleasure to watch. As before, this type of content is right up my alley, and I again have immediately started the next series Wartime Farm (though am most excited for Tudor). If you like history would highly recommend, informative and fun.

9 if it didn't have Alex

Sadly another good show in the spirit of secrets of the castle ruined by the pompous and snarky remarks from Alex in general and in particular to Peter and guests.
