Almost exactly two years have gone by since it was announced that the Incredible Hulk himself, Lou Ferrigno, had signed on to star in the horror film The Hermit, a project that will see him taking on the role of a cannibalistic pig farmer who makes and sells jerky made of human flesh. Now, thanks to Variety, a couple images of Ferrigno’s character have made their way online, and you can check them out in this article!
Scatena & Rosner Films has acquired the worldwide rights to The Hermit, which is currently in post-production, and will be launching distribution sales at the Cannes Film Market.
Described as a “horror film with an undercurrent of quirky irony,” The Hermit was directed and produced by Salvatore Sclafani, who previously directed the 2019 Italian drama A Gifted Man (Il talento) and this year’s Dutch II: Angel’s Revenge, which is a sequel to the 2020 crime thriller Dutch.

When Mike Doyle first appeared on NBC's New Amsterdam as Dr. Iggy Frome's husband, Martin, viewers likely recognized him but may not have been able to place why. Doyle has had notable roles in everything from Shameless to Oz to 2011's A Gifted Man and has appeared in films like Green Lantern (2011) and Jersey Boys (2014). Alongside New Amsterdam, Doyle was in 10 episodes of 2018's The Accidental Wolf as husband Brad to Kelli O'Hara's Katie, but his big claim to fame is on another NBC show viewers may or may not remember seeing him on.
On procedural shows like Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, lab technicians can occasionally stick around, but often only for a season. In Season 5, Episode 7, "Choice," a new lab tech arrived and made such an impression that he became a recurring guest star through not just the rest of the season but the next five.

For many in Hollywood, it’s time to get ready for the red-eye again.
As Hollywood emerges from the Covid bubble, showrunners and other industry professionals are preparing for the return to frequent travel for shows in which the location of the writers room and the production offices are separated by thousands of miles.
The portability of production these days and the lure of tax incentives in states like New York, North Carolina and Louisiana has drawn many shows far from Los Angeles. The increasingly global nature of the content business is evident in hits like HBO’s “Succession,” which had its writers room led by showrunner/creator Jesse Armstrong in London while lensing is largely done in New York. More such set-ups are surely coming as the streaming revolution revs up content production around the world.

The Broadway performances of a U.S. congressman’s wife has become an unlikely talking point in Wisconsin politics.
In her campaign to unseat Republican U.S. Rep. Mike Gallagher by highlighting his background of “wealth and privilege,” Democratic State Rep. Amanda Stuck repeatedly mentions Gallagher’s marriage to a “Broadway star” in a video to the local PBS station.
Stuck doesn’t mention Anne Gallagher by name, perhaps because “Broadway star” is, well, a stretch.
“I don’t come from wealth and privilege like Mike Gallagher does,” Stuck says in the video. “I didn’t marry a Broadway star like Mike Gallagher did. I married a sheet metal journeyman.”
Stuck continues, “For most of us, Broadway is a street in Green Bay. It isn’t a place in Manhattan, like Mike Gallagher knows.”
The approach has made headlines in Wisconsin’s 8th Congressional District and even drew a reproach from Actors’ Equity.

The countdown for the December release of Aquaman is on, and we can hardly wait for it to reach the big screen. Jason Momoa is the star, but he's just one of the actors in the all-star cast. Nicole Kidman, Amber Heard, and Willem Dafoe are all appearing as well, but one character in particular caught our interest in the trailer: Orm, Aquaman's brother and nemesis. If Orm looks familiar to you, then we can tell you why. From starring in movies such as The Phantom of the Opera and Insidious to being featured in television series such as Girls and A Gifted Man, actor Patrick Wilson sure has an impressive roster of past roles. On Monday, Fox unveiled the network's primetime slate for the 2018-2019 television season during its annual Programming Presentation at the Beacon Theatre.
"This year, we launched four of the Top 10 new shows on broadcast, which led to a very strong roster of young series returning for their sophomore seasons. That gives us tremendous momentum heading into the fall," said Newman and Walden. "With our increased investment in football, we're going to use the powerful platform of the NFL to launch our new comedies. We'll then take some big swings with dramas at midseason, which is a proven strategy for Fox."
The new comedies joining the lineup this fall are Rel and The Cool Kids. Inspired by the life of Lil Rel Howery, Rel is a multi-camera comedy starring Howery as a loving husband and father living in Chicago, who finds out his wife is having an affair, and must rebuild...

Eriq La Salle, who spent 15 seasons in scrubs on ER, has joined the cast of the upcoming Wolverine sequel. While details on both the plot of the film and La Salle’s character are murky, we do know that Hugh Jackman is back to play the titular mutant, along with Patrick Stewart as Professor X, Stephen Merchant and the criminally underused Richard E. Grant in mystery roles, and Boyd Holbrook as an unnamed villain.
La Salle has toiled primarily in television, appearing in series like 24, A Gifted Man, and Under The Dome. His last feature credit is in a 2006 crime drama called Johnny Was.
The new Wolverine film is slated for release March 3, 2017, and will (supposedly) be Jackman’s last time to don the claws.

Casting has been heating up on 20th Century Fox's Wolverine 3 over the past few weeks, with Boyd Holbrook recently coming aboard to play the new villain, and Stephen Merchant and Richard E. Grant also landing unspecified roles. Today we have word that another actor has joined the growing cast, Eriq La Salle, although no details were given for his character quite yet. It isn't known if his role is rooted in the Marvel Comics, or if it was created specifically for this movie.
Very little is known about the story at this point, but a recent casting call hinted that the production was bringing in a fan favorite mutant known as X-23. The production is currently seeking Caucasian, Hispanic and Asian women over the age of 21, who are between 4'0-4'11 in height, size 0-4, with dark brown hair for stand-in roles, which many have assumed is for the X-23 character.

"Hand of God" (Amazon) - Friday, September 4 What is it? Ron Perlman plays a corrupt judge who believes he can hear the voice of God after his son's suicide attempt. He starts a crusade to find the man who raped his son's wife, employing methods both lawful and otherwise, all in God's name. I'll like it if I like... dark TV shows with morally questionable leads; think "A Gifted Man" crossed with "The Leftovers." Why should I care? The latest Amazon series got off to a strong start in its premiere episode. We ranked it as the best of their third pilot season, ahead of "The Cosmopolitans" and "Red Oaks" (the later of which is also on this list), in part because of its phenomenal cast. Perlman is perfect in the lead role, and his supporting players — from Garrett Dillahunt to Dana Delany — add relevance to the show in a big way.

With temperatures dropping into the negatives across the U.S. today, it seems appropriate to get a bit of casting news for TV's most snow-friendly show. FX announced today the rest of its cast for "Fargo" Season 2. Ted Danson ("Cheers," "Bored to Death"), Patrick Wilson ("Angels in America," "A Gifted Man") and Jean Smart ("Harry's Law," "Samantha Who") are all set to join the previously announced stars Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons in the second season of Noah Hawley's anthology series. Wilson is set to take over the role of Lou Solverson — previously played by Keith Carradine — in the '70s set period story. Wilson's Solverson is a Navy veteran four years back from Vietnam, now living a clean-cut life in Minnesota as a state patrolman. Danson will play's Lou's father-in-law Hank Larsson, the Sheriff of Rock County, Minnesota. Smart, meanwhile, may have the juiciest role of the bunch.

It’s been about a decade since the last episode of Angel, the Buffy the Vampire Slayer spin-off series about the vampire with a soul, aired. The final episode of season five, Not Fade Away, first appeared on Us television screens on 19 May 2004. That seems simultaneously like a very long time ago, and not very long ago at all, because time is vast and human brains are small and fallible, but it’s safe to say that in TV years, it’s a pretty long goddamned time.

David O. Russell has finally found solid ground in cinema and now, having enjoyed three consecutive successes with American Hustle, Silver Linings Playbook, and The Fighter, the Academy Award-nominated director/writer is making his first foray into television.
Russell has teamed up with Erin Brockovich writer, Susannah Grant, to create a drama about the upstairs/downstairs happenings at a private country club. Although not much more is known about the new ABC series, the upstairs/downstairs setup already calls to mind the popular British drama series, Downton Abbey.
Susannah Grant has ventured into television before with her series, A Gifted Man. Russell’s latest film, the impressive American Hustle, has been nominated for ten Academy Awards in this year’s competition, following last year’s Silver Linings Playbook receiving eight nominations. With his place now cemented amongst Hollywood’s brightest, it will be interesting to see how Russell will make his mark in television,...

ABC has ordered an untitled drama executive produced by David O. Russell (American Hustle) straight to series. The story by Russell and Susannah Grant (A Gifted Man) is described as "an upstairs/downstairs soap" set at a private country club. The Live Feed reports Carl Beverly and Sarah Timberman (Justified) are on board as executive producers. FX ultimately passed on Russell's previous effort on a TV series starring Connie Britton, so this is his first TV drama. I don't know how involved Russell will be given his busy feature career (5 Oscar nominations in 3 years!), but I hope he at least directs the pilot to set in motion a few sure-to-be crazy plots. ABC give Russell and Grant 13 episodes to play with in the initial order.

David O. Russell's shaping up to have a good year on the small screen as well as the big. The "American Hustle" director and current Oscar nominee is headed to television with a still untitled drama project based on a story from him and "Erin Brockovich" writer Susannah Grant that, according to Deadline, has been ordered to series by ABC. The show is reportedly set at a private country club with plenty of upstairs/downstairs dramas, and was developed by CBS TV Studios. Grant wrote the teleplay, and is executive producing alongside Russell, Sarah Timberman and Carl Beverly. This is Russell's first major TV venture, though he did serve as an executive producer on Syfy's short-lived 2009 sitcom "Outer Space Astronauts." The drama has been given a 13-episode straight to series order. In addition to her film work, Grant created the 2011-2012 CBS drama "A Gifted Man," starring Patrick Wilson.

Exclusive: Neal Baer has signed a new two-year overall deal with CBS Television Studios. The early renewal will keep him and his Baer Bones production company at the studio through 2016. Baer will continue as executive producer/showrunner on CBS Studios’ CBS series Under The Dome while also developing new projects. He has sold drama The Three Behrs to CBS, with another sale pending. Written/executive produced by Baer and Dan Truly, The Three Behrs centers on three doctors, all strangers to each other, who are brought together at a prominent NYC hospital and learn that they’re brothers. Their recently deceased father was the legendary Chief of the hospital and posthumously wants his children to take it over and continue his legacy. On CBS' summer hit "Under the Dome," Rachelle Lefevre plays Julia, who, like many of the other characters she's played, is fearless.
Julia is a reporter, and like Lefevre's other recent TV roles as doctors, she is a strong, determined woman. This time, however, Lefevre didn't shadow a journalist to inform her character.
"Normally when I am playing a certain profession, I do spend time with cops and doctors," she tells Zap2it from Wilmington, N.C., where the show was shooting. "There is something about playing a journalist, as a solo mission, and it is something one can excel at or be bad at. I was less interested in the skill and more interested in what kind of person becomes a journalist."
Julia is a doctor's wife, or as the audience knows from the show's beginning, a doctor's widow, so Julia would have more money than most print reporters working on a small-town daily.
