The hunt continues tonight on ABC’s Missing, which stars Ashley Judd as former CIA agent Becca Winstone, a widow who’s crying and kicking butt all over Europe as she searches for her kidnapped son Michael (Nick Eversman). “In this episode, she definitely gets a better line on who might have her son and where to go,” creator Gregory Poirier tells EW. And so will viewers. “One of the things that I love about this episode is that we actually start to go with Michael and follow where he is and what’s happening to him while she’s looking for him,...

Sean Bean has revealed that he will have a "quite substantial" presence in Missing despite being killed off in the pilot episode. The Game of Thrones actor's character Paul was seemingly murdered by a car bomb within the opening minutes of the ABC drama, which focuses on his widow and ex-cia agent Becca (Ashley Judd) searching for her kidnapped son. "I get exploded [but] you'll see me in flashback and that's the story that unfolds between Paul and Becca," he told Entertainment Weekly. "It starts off back-to-front, in a way. "The flashbacks are quite substantial. You find out who she is and who Paul is, and what their relationship (more)...

Ashley Judd takes center stage in the latest entry in the season's batch of mid-season short run shows. "Missing " (Thu., 8 p.m. Et on ABC) tells the story of single mother Rebecca Winstone (Judd) on a quest in Europe to find her son who's gone missing. She's a single mother because ten years ago while traveling abroad with their son, her husband Paul (Sean Bean) was killed in a vehicle explosion.
Bean is listed as a series regular, though, so it was either a fake-out for the pilot to make his death a bigger shock, or perhaps he didn't die after all. A third possibility has the show relying heavily on flashbacks, during which Bean could appear.
The explosive death seemed random until it was later revealed that there is more to the Winstone's than first appears. Viewers knew Rebecca was in great shape, but it wasn't until she took...

"Missing " just premiered on ABC and we're loving it. The show stars Ashley Judd as Becca Winstone. She's a single mom and a former CIA agent who's been out of the game since she had her son. In the premiere, he's kidnapped while studying abroad in Italy and Becca uses her old skills to try to get him back.
We find out two very important things here. Becca's past was not typical for the CIA, and the current person in charge (Cliff Curtis) is surprised by how many skills she still has. In fact, from her fighting, we can see that she's been keeping herself in shape all these years. She's also got connections that make you wonder what she was up to all those years ago.

In ABC's Missing , a former CIA agent named Rebecca Winstone (Ashley Judd) travels to Europe in search of her son Michael (Nick Eversman) who's disappeared while on a summer internship in Italy.
She'll use any means necessary to get her son back but will enough viewers want to follow along? Will the show be cancelled before she can find her boy?
Here's what some critics are saying about Missing:
NY Daily News: "Rome isn't conquered in a day, even by Becca, and watching Missing will require a commitment, not occasional whim. As drama it has a few holes and clearly a lot of backstory that will unspool at its own pace. Some of the action scenes, in keeping with special-effects tradition, are filmed in near-darkness. Fans of Ashley Judd know she's made a great career by running... and jumping... and shooting.... and screaming. Basically, all things action. So Missing makes for an ideal comeback vehicle, following five years away from the acting game.
In the series premiere we are introduced to retired CIA agent Rebecca Winstone. She is an overprotective mother who apprehensively allows her only child, Michael, to enroll in architecture school in Rome.
To understand what makes Rebecca tick, the show opened with an incident 10 years prior in which her husband, Paul, was assassinated in front of their child. It's later referenced that she retired from the CIA as a result. Paul and Michael were in Vienna at the time so obviously Becca would be even more afraid to allow Michael to study abroad in Europe.
There's also the fact that she and Paul were both operatives and obviously know the ins and outs and safety statistics.

I published my review of ABC's "Missing " on Tuesday. Now it's your turn. For those who chose the Ashley Judd spy drama over "Idol," "Community," March Madness, etc., what did you think? Did you appreciate all the attempts to remind us of her maternal side (including the gag where she tells the girl at the club to put out the cigarette), or was it all a bit much? Did you like the location filming? Enjoy the action? Glad to have Judd working again, or did you not miss her during her relative downtime? Thoughts on Sean Bean's latest method of dying? And will you watch again? Have at it....

She's not just a CIA agent, she's a mother! Ashley Judd is on TV, y'all, and she is not messing around! The movie star is getting her Liam Neeson-in-Taken on in her new drama series, Missing (which premiered tonight on ABC). In other words, she's going to do anything necessary to find her missing son. Yes, this is one mom who isn't afraid to get her hands a little dirty. Now that you've seen the series premiere, we want to hear from you: Would you care if Missing went missing from ABC's schedule in a few weeks? (See what we did there?) Hell hath no fury like a mother scorned, are we right?! Becca Winstone (Judd) is a former CIA agent who retired 10 years ago after...

Chicago – I’m right on the critical median with ABC’s “Missing .” On one hand, it’s inconsistent, poorly written, and kind of just silly. It’s tempting to dismiss like an overheated Lifetime movie. On the other hand, Ashley Judd is better than most Lifetime leads, the action is actually pretty tight, and I like the creative potential of a show that’s promised viewers that it will wrap up its first story in ten episodes. Which hand wins out? You decide.

In Ashley Judd’s first TV series since Sisters, she stars as Becca Winstone, a mother who’ll do whatever it takes to find her son Michael (Nick Eversman) after he’s kidnapped while studying abroad in Rome. Ashley Judd has returned to her butt-kicking ways, but this time she's going to do it every week on TV. When ABC's new drama Missing premieres Thursday (8/7c), viewers will encounter the actress in a role that will seem familiar to fans of her big-screen thrillers, including Kiss the Girls, Double Jeopardy, High Crimes and Twisted. In a sense, they helped pave the way for Judd to play Missing 's Becca Winstone, a florist and former CIA agent whose teenage son Michael (Nick Eversman) goes missing in Italy. (Ok, so it also borrows a lot from Liam Neeson's Taken.)

There’s a certain genre of television that I’m not very friendly with, and it’s something I should confess before anyone goes too far in this review. It’s a genre that is dominated by shows with initials as their names these days, and they are geared actually toward people somewhere around my age. I find them awful in general, stunted by broken, goofy dialog that often seems to be written by people who have never heard people speak in real life, and pushed along by action scenes that are curiously hokey, but with delusions of grandeur.
If such shows are your bag, and you can deal with Ashley Judd as an ex-cia badass (but, I repeat myself), then I’ve got a show for you.
Veering off from most shows in this genre, Missing is another installment of the long arc vs. truly episodic shows, and follows...

"Missing " premieres on ABC this Thursday, March 15 and we got a chance to chat with the stunning men of the series. The actress, who took a five-year break from acting and returns this Thursday on ABC's Missing , admitted to me this week that she had no intention of breaking back into the business on network television.
