She's in on the joke

I can't decide if that makes it better or worse but for me at least it makes it entertaining instead of sad. And this isn't simply a monument to excess, it's built to be basically a modern day palace where the entire multi-generational family will live for centuries. Sadly it's extremely difficult to find craftsmen to build something like that these days, especially enough of them to complete this home properly in their lifetime. Which is probably the real lesson to be learned here.

If Jackie thinks her over the top clueless antics are funny to most people she really needs to read some reviews here, a lot more people would like her real personality more. When her daughter died she spoke very eloquently, set up charities and put in real work in her daughter's name.

Its ok

I mean, this is nothing compared with for example "Keeping up with the Kardashian's" who built up their entire career and fortune with their show. I like Jackie, she's more genuine than any other rich mom with a reality show. I thinks it fun and interesting to follow the process with this gigantic project of finishing the house, that's been called the most expensive building failure since they halted the whole thing. I mean this is their dream home. I would build mine too if I had the money.

And I think Jackie does a greater job than her husband listening to the actual experts who are responsible for the building and design process. I really hope we get a second and maybe third season to see it done. I see some tendencies in her sons that's going to mess with it but I hope it ends well.

Say "Morning Kitchen" Again!!!

If you enjoy drinking games, may I suggest taking a drink/sip/shot every time someone on the show says "morning kitchen" I assure you will be sloshed halfway through the second episode. But, unfortunately it gets much worse as the series moves forward.

I'd also like to add that it seems very fishy to me that David (husband) is in the hospital the whole time. I only say this because he actually sued Sundance and the director of the original film claiming defamation. He lost that case as the only defamation (about himself) was things he actually said in the film.

Overall, I just think the whole show is sad (constantly insisting on 10 chairs at breakfast tables etc) as the kids are all moving away from home age and the 86 year old husband won't be around forever. So who is the self proclaimed "Queen" really doing this for?? I'll let you make your own mind up about that.

Entertaining, Interesting, Funny and Family.

From the first documentary to this new series, the viewer is taken on a familiar journey. The family has more money than God but you really do see them as humble beings. They don't realize the average price of a fancy chair is more than half of what somebody pays in rent... but because the children's were raised in this world, they aren't the one's to blame for their ignorance. Now the adult children don't act like spoiled little brats.

The Queen herself is such a ditzy airhead that means good but you sometimes can't look past just how dumb she really is... she can't be that dumb though since she does have an engineering degree. So is it all for show, or did she trick her way through university. I don't view her as a self-serving or manipulative person, like Kris Jenner, but I do think she could do with a trip back down reality lane All this mother wants is to build the house of her dreams to keep her kids as close to home as possible and reside in a castle meant for her king, Mr. Siegel.

Throughout the series we see a few room completions but that's more than what we saw in the 15 years since this documentary was first filmed. With the kids grown and their interesting in their own right, they make a great addition to the show and don't take away from the overall theme- which is the construction of Versailles.

If you're into reality TV, documentaries, family drama and Florida living- this is the perfect show for you.

Desperation at 24 karats

What a desperately unhappy woman and her desperately pointless house. Why anyone wanted to make this is the question of the day. Probaly this strange, unattractive and weird woman paid someone to make it and paid to have it promoted as something, though I am not sure what we should call it. Watching beer bottles falling down the stairs would be more interesting and more honest. This woman has solittle self-awareness that at best we can wonder about her sanity and mental health. Arguably one of the most useless video projects ever filmed.

Out of touch

I realize this show was made a year ago, but it still feels like a bad fit as the world struggles with inflation. The original documentary was thought provoking but this show is disgusting and demonstrates that Mrs Siegel leaned nothing from her brush with "poverty" 10 years ago. Instead it shows the vacuousness and willful wastefulness of this woman by attempting to glamorize a lifestyle that isn't the envy of the audience but rather the subject of its disdain. 5 minutes in you'll realize it's like a toddler was handed millions and given carte blanche. I couldn't make it through an entire episode. There is nothing redeeming about this show.

ignore the people bringing their politics

It's a fun show, honestly. Especially if you like restoration shows. People are only spamming negative reviews because they don't like the people involved which really has both to do with the show itself.

If someone's gonna drop a few million on one room, it helps the economy a lot more than anything. I just don't think most people know basic economics unfortunately.

What's cool about the show is how the mansion was essentially lost in time and how it kept up during the years it's been sitting dormant. All of the custom pieces that were made years prior are also quite a sight, too. Seeing each room being put together is almost satisfying even through any issue they come across.

It's really cool seeing the people involved in the project and how they can create exactly what was expected.

So Very Cruel and Obnoxious

I saw the original Queen of Versailles at the Sundance Film Festival and was outraged then. Now here comes another chapter of a cruel and ridiculous travesty. People are starving in the streets and she needs a 90000 Square Foot home? How narcissistic do you have to be? Totally obnoxious. I couldn't care less about her or her home and I'm disappointed that Discovery + sees fit to fund her in any way.

She's back - unfortunately

I thought the initial documentary was bad, but no, this is worse. What a narcissist who can't even keep up a conversation with her daughter about leaving school the next day (she thought.). She immediately switches the conversation back to herself. This is a horrible show. And don't forget, this family made their money from selling timeshares to people who (for the most part) have no idea what they are truly buying and how they will never be able to get out from under it. Make your living honestly and I don't have as much of a problem. These guys didn't.

Do yourself a favor and avoid this show and you will not wish you wasted your time.

Very Funny

This show is fun to watch. Jackie cracks me up. She is a great wife and mother. Her children seem so well behaved. They all respect their father so much and crave his attention; but David seems hard to please.

At my house, my husband always wants to watch documentaries, crime shows, detectives and a few select series.

Not all the time, but sometimes when I'm by myself, I need a break. It may not be for everybody. I don't take it seriously. But she makes me laugh.

Furthermore, we are both from upstate NY. I also worked at IBM and had the same feeling about staying in a cubicle for forty years. Boring. I left NY as soon as I could.

Biltmore Estate? Have they forgotten?

The Biltmore Estate in NC is over 178,000sqft.

Not sure what she is trying to accomplish, but the Gilded Age ended 100 years ago.

This is so tacky. I can't imagine having that much money to spend on non-sense. Especially in this AWFUL liberal economy.

Enjoyed very much.

I don't understand why people come here to leave bad reviews just because they don't like it that these people have a lot of money. Yes, they are building a very large home, so do a lot of wealthy people that we don't hear about. What people also don't hear about are all of the charity and good work that his family has done. After their death of their daughter Victoria, this family has made saving other's lives from overdose their main goal. They are nearly solely responsible for getting life saving drugs due to overdose onto every ambulance around the country. They have also done so much to help ow income people, young people and many other charities. I enjoyed watching this show so much and hope that there will be a season 2. All of the bad reviews seem to be written out of jealousy that this family is wealthy, not out of a dislike for the show. I doubt if the people writing the bad reviews have even watched the show, they are simply outraged that they don't have the money that this family does.. Jackie is so kind, generous and and personable, and what goes into building this grand home is very interesting. I've enjoyed watching it very much. I would love to see more about their charitable work also. Jackie seems like she would be anyone's friend, even though she is a very wealthy woman, she came from very humble beginnings.

She's a disgusting huma

I watched the documentary in 2012 out of curiosity. She and her family are proof that money doesn't buy you class. I think karma keeps taking out Versailles for a reason and it's well deserved. Her husband is now in his lte 80s and dealing with medic; issues. I doubt seriously that her palace will ever be completed. The construction is shoddy and it's in a part of the country that deals with hurricanes. Some parts of the house are pretty but the stuff in her antique warehouse is tacky. 😳

I heard that they bought a $5 million home to live in. If I were them, I'd strip the house, bulldoze and donate the construction materials and donate the land to a preserve. Give back rather than the constant consumption.

The rich do get richer

Where do I begin. I will try to keep it short.

How did they manage to keep Versailles AND the Seagull Island after 18 years. If that had been any one of us we would have had 1 month to get out and move!!! I was thinking of her best friend who she sent money to help her out with the mortgage, and she lost her home anyway...

I was shocked that Jackie was trying to plan a HUGE New Years Eve Bash with the help of a Publicist and Assistant in a house that was not completed and literally falling apart. After the end of the first documentary show it seemed that she was all alone and had lost some of those social elite friends. Now planning to pick up right where she left off with that circle.

The best part was seeing how well the kids have grown up and take care of each other and their mom. She really did do a a great job with them. Give her her props for that. Hope she goes back to find her true happiness with a campfire and a beer...

It's a fun show

I liked the original documentary and always wondered how the house turned out. I love watching the new show as they try to finish everything up.

People are being too hard on the show. It's an easy show to watch and follow. I think it's interesting to see how that level of wealth lives. And their an enjoyable loving family.

Interesting and funny

Interesting and entertaining show for interior design and architecture enthusiasts. The Sieglers have been attempting to build USA's largest family home for 20 years. Due to financial obstacles they had to postpone their plans, but now Jackie is more than determined to finish the house.

Every detail on Vesailles grandiosity mirrors perfectly Jackie's vain character. Apart from vain, she is also quite funny, even though she seems to deal with problems bigger than one can think a rich woman like her can have. Personally, I think that she diverts her attention from her pain to her luxury life problems. Most of us cannot afford to even think of the things that stress her during the show, but those are not really why the Queen of Versailles is sad.
