If you think the Voice acting of High guardian spice was horrendous. Well, Buckle up this one is even worse.

Dropped it after 5 minutes of watching the first episode. ITS UTTER GARBAGE, and should never have been released by Crunchyroll.

It is starting to look like Crunchyroll is following in Netflix their footsteps.

Where Netflix is the king of Garbage live action adaptation movies Crunchyroll, would be the king of Garbage "! CARTOON!" Originals.

I don't know why you would take an obscure web comic from the late 00's and create a show around something whose popularity has since ebbed.

If you are going to adapt something like that into a viable show, you better put some real money and talent behind it otherwise you end up making what looks to be a very good student animation effort.

To that end: This is a good warm up for future animators, voice actors and production specialists to cut their teeth on learning the ins and outs of this type of business.

The "High Guardian Spice" reference is unfair seeing as how that show placed more emphasis on the identity of the writers/actors than the actual show.

I tip my hat to CR for playing it safe and picking something that most people are unfamiliar with so if it does poorly in adaptation only 50 people how actual remember reading it would know how much was missed, altered, rushed or left out entirely.

Watch it if you want a palette cleanser between shows with much better production values. The story isn't bad but it screams of what happens when a writer doesn't actually plan how a story arc is meant to move, characters grow, and allowing the weight situations set in appropriately for deaths, abuse or even personal struggles and the way threads between friends, enemies and bystanders weaken, strengthen and entangle themselves in unyielding ways.

Delete I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed this series because I didn't expect much. The animation is good, display of same powers in creative and variety of ways and all the characters have distinctive voices and personalities well support d by a good story ....even though not original (the usual fear and hunting down meta-humans)...but still pretty good in execution. Loved the cockney accents on some characters which truly sells the London setting.

Anxiously awaiting for season 2 and hope it gets renewed.

FreakAngels is an absolute gem of an anime! With its incredible comic book adaptation, it truly brings the story to life. The animation is top-notch, capturing the essence of the original illustrations with stunning detail. The world building is excellent, with a great war genre feel that immerses you in the action. The characters are well-developed, each with their own unique personality and motivations, making for a truly captivating viewing experience. The only minor criticism would be its ending, which some may find unsatisfying, but the journey to get there is so enjoyable that it's easy to overlook. Overall, FreakAngels is an excellent addition to any anime fan's collection and is highly recommended for those who love action-packed and character-driven stories.
