The #MeToo movement and the release of the documentary series "The Secrets of Playboy" pretty much killed the Playboy brand (and rightfully so). For decades, Hugh Hefner dressed up sexual freedom as female empowerment. He supported progressive ideals of racial equality, queer identity, and a woman's right to choose. But his image as a cultural liberator and the suave womanizer every man should envy was just a veneer. Hugh Hefner was a controlling hoarder, and inside his so-called famous luxury mansion, which was dull and musty inside, he allegedly drugged and manipulated women into performing degrading sex acts. He would secretly film some women and use the footage as blackmail (via Variety).
From 2005 to 2010, the reality series "The Girls Next Door" on E! made the Playboy brand more popular than it had ever been. It painted Hef's three live-in girlfriends Holly, Bridget, and Kendra as cartoony, frilly playthings and Hef himself as a harmless,...

Prime Video’s “Bosch” spinoff series is here, and you’ll probably recognize quite a few faces in “Ballard.” But, if you’re struggling to place them, we can help you out.
Now streaming, and based on Michael Connelly’s bestselling novels, “Ballard” centers on Detective Renee Ballard, the fearless new leader of LAPD’s cold case unit. The thing about this unit is, it’s made up entirely of volunteers, and has no money being funneled into it to help.
Still, those volunteers are pretty good. Here’s who you’ll recognize among them.

Moira Walley-Beckett is out as showrunner of Amazon’s planned Fourth Wing adaptation, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
WandaVision and Agatha All Along creator Jac Schaeffer has signed a deal with Amazon MGM Studios, and is being eyed to replace Walley-Beckett as Fourth Wing showrunner. The Fourth Wing TV project hails from Amazon MGM Studios and Michael B. Jordan’s Outlier Society.
Schaeffer also wrote the Black Widow movie.
Walley-Beckett was a Breaking Bad writer and producer — she wrote “Ozymandias,” as well as a bunch of other episodes — and she created the series Anne With an E. She also wrote the Flesh and Bone miniseries and penned three episodes of NBC’s highly anticipated flameout Pan Am. Walley-Beckett signed on to showrun Amazon’s Fourth Wing last summer; Fourth Wing has not yet been ordered to series and does not yet have a cast attached.

Margot Robbie was almost cast in American Horror Story: Asylum? (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Back in 2012, Margot Robbie auditioned for American Horror Story: Asylum, the season packed with all things creepy and Emmy-worthy. But despite delivering an audition that made jaws drop, she didn’t land the role.
Casting director Eric Dawson spilled the beans on Backstage’s In the Envelope: The Actor’s Podcast, calling Robbie’s audition one of his “favorites of all time.” He said, “She was such a star. It was crazy, her star appeal when she walked in the room. Even though she didn’t get that role, you just knew—this is a star. What do we do with her?”
At that point, Margot was fresh off the short-lived Pan Am (2011–2012), where she played a 1960s stewardess—sadly, the show didn’t take off, but Robbie’s ambition was about to. With a fearless mindset,...

Margot Robbie and Will Smith's crime movie, which made over $158 million at the box office, becomes a global Netflix hit nine years later. Two of the biggest stars of their time, Smith rose to fame playing a fictionalized version of himself in the sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and transitioned to blockbuster movies during the 1990s, starring in Bad Boys, Men in Black, Independence Day, and more. He started garnering critical acclaim during the 2000s, earning Oscar nominations for Ali and The Pursuit of Happyness, though he didn't win the award until King Richard in 2022.
Similarly, Robbie started her career on television with Neighbours and Pan Am, but broke through with a standout role in Martin Scorsese's The Wolf of Wall Street and collaborated with more acclaimed directors on Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and Greta Gerwig's Barbie. Margot Robbie used to perfect Subway sandwiches (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Before Margot Robbie dazzled the world on the big screen, she was perfecting sandwiches at Subway. Yes, before The Wolf of Wall Street and Barbie, Margot ensured every slice of tomato was meticulously placed. “I watch them make it badly — and I’m upset,” she admitted on Hot Ones. Believe it or not, Sandwich-making was something the now two-time Oscar nominee took seriously. And why wouldn’t she? Precision has always been her game.
Back in her native Australia, long before Hollywood fame knocked on her door, Margot juggled three jobs at once — a maid, a waitress, and, of course, a Subway sandwich artist. In typical Robbie fashion, she poured her perfectionist energy into every role, ensuring every sandwich had the “right amount of everything.” Her attention to detail was no joke — a trait she carried from behind the counter to Hollywood.

One of the few moments of calm in Lee Daniels‘ new Netflix thriller “The Deliverance” comes when the tormented Jackson family sits down together to watch a favorite movie. The movie Daniels chose to bring three generations together in a communal viewing experience? The 1967 adaptation of Jacqueline Susann’s camp classic “Valley of the Dolls.”
For Daniels, it was a tip of the hat to a movie he loves even though he doesn’t exactly think it’s good. “It’s one of my favorite films, and I still don’t know why,” he told IndieWire’s Filmmaker Toolkit podcast. “It really is camp, but in a bad way camp. Not in a good way. But I love it, I live for it.”
The “Valley of the Dolls” reference in “The Deliverance” isn’t just a tribute to a favorite movie; it’s also a callback to one of Daniels’ unrealized projects.

David Harbour's first big TV role was in an episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Harbour also played other characters within the Law & Order franchise during the early years of his career. The Law & Order franchise, and Special Victims Unit in particular, were a big stepping stone in David Harbour's acting career on screen.
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit is currently the longest-running primetime live-action series on American television, and so it makes sense that many famous actors have guest-starred or made cameos in the show. Sometimes, these actors appear in an episode of Law & Order: Svu before they become household names, with the Dick Wolf series becoming a stepping stone on their path to success. Such is the case of David Harbour, who in recent years has earned international recognition and the public's affection thanks to his starring role as Jim Hopper in Stranger Things.

Margot Robbie is one of the biggest names in Hollywood, and her massive success with Barbie only cemented her status as a bona fide movie star. From Sharon Tate to Tonya Harding, if Robbie’s name is attached to a film, you can be sure it’ll be a critical and commercial success. Robbie got her start on the Australian soap opera Neighbours when she was just a teenager, though she hasn’t acted on the small screen since her role in the short-lived drama series Pan Am in 2011. However, her production company LuckyChap Entertainment has produced the Netflix miniseries Maid, the Hulu miniseries Mike, and the Hulu comedy series Dollface. And in Dollface, Robbie makes a brief one-episode cameo as the eccentric spiritual guide Imelda. Dollface stars Kat Dennings as Jules, a young woman reconnecting with her female friends after a sudden breakup with her long-term boyfriend. Its familiar...

Margot Robbie's career may have taken flight when the actress landed a role on the 2011 series Pan Am, but the ABC period drama crashed and burned all the same. A steamy, espionage-twinged '60s drama with affairs left and right, it was basically Mad Men in the sky. Receiving critical acclaim across the board, it seemed to have come along at the perfect time, given that Mad Men had already caused a ripple effect of nostalgia for the iconic decade.

It’s that time of year when audiences will be bombarded with holiday-themed TV shows and movies, but luckily, AMC+’s December lineup will be a breath of fresh air, as the TV shows that will be featured on the platform are devoid of the usual Christmas content. However, that's not to say that there won't be any holiday specials featured on AMC+. Capitalizing on Christmas is a tactic that is widely used in the movie and TV industry.
However, unlike other streaming platforms, AMC+ still finds its footing in a world filled with too many competitors. AMC+ will feature both new shows making it to the streaming platform for the first time and returning TV shows this December. The AMC+ TV series lineup offers a variety of...

Margot Robbie was nearly cast in American Horror Story: Asylum, and based on where the actress was with her career at the time, there's a specific season 2 character she likely auditioned for. Asylum served as the follow-up installment to the horror anthology's well-received debut, Murder House. Rather than a present-day tale, Asylum was primarily set in the 1960s, following Briarcliff Manor and the various staff and patients within the mental institution. American Horror Story season 2's cast was comprised of several returning faces from Murder House, including Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Dylan McDermott, Zachary Quinto, and Lily Rabe. However, it almost starred a huge name.
According to casting director Eric Dawson, Margot Robbie auditioned for a role in American Horror Story season 2. Though she didn't get the part, she left a lasting impression, leaving the team hoping to use her in the near future. Granted, she quickly rose to stardom,...

Margot Robbie almost was part of the Ryan Murphy television universe.
The “Barbie” star and producer auditioned for “American Horror Story: Asylum,” which aired in 2012. The FX series starred franchise staples Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, and Lily Rabe, with Chloë Sevigny, Clea DuVall, Adam Levine, and Jenna Dewan having guest appearances in the Emmy-nominated anthology installment.
Casting director Eric Dawson revealed that Robbie auditioned for an undisclosed role, and despite being one of his “favorite” performances, she was not cast.
“Margot has a lot of ‘it’ factors. That’s the tough thing for casting directors who aren’t in the room [anymore] with actors,” Dawson said during Backstage’s “In the Envelope: The Actor’s Podcast.” “Margot is probably one of my favorite auditions of all time, and it was right before she broke out. She was such a star. It was crazy, her star appeal when she walked in the room.

Developed by ER's Jack Orman, ABC's Pan Am was a one-season historical drama full of brilliant potential. As the title indicates, the series followed Pan Am stewardesses on flights full of adventure, espionage, and life-changing experiences in the early 60s while simultaneously showcasing the adversaries of the time. Pan Am was a star-studded wondrous little gem at the time, which featured some of today's most renowned actors and plot points that, while undoubtedly soapy, designed an engaging series worth binge-watching still to this day. The series premiered in the 2011 fall lineup and ended in 2012 with the unfortunate cancelation despite the show's international success, where the European Broadcasting Union sponsored awards, the Rose d'Or, named it the Best Series of the Year.

In an era where live-action adaptations of beloved series are becoming increasingly popular, even giants like Netflix can't avoid the occasional oversight. The streaming giant, renowned for its meticulous production quality, recently found itself in a slightly embarrassing position after an astute One Piece fanbase pointed out an all-too-modern blunder in the trailer for their eagerly awaited live-action rendition of One Piece.
For those not in the loop, this faux pas took form as a seemingly innocuous smartwatch. Yes, you read that right – in a world swarming with magic, audacious pirates, and individuals endowed with spectacular abilities, a background character inadvertently showcased 21st-century technology. One Piece Netflix Fan, a user on X (formerly known as Twitter), shared an image comparison highlighting the scene before and after Netflix's correction.

Netflix has swiftly corrected an error spotted in the latest trailer for its upcoming live-action One Piece series.
The fantasy show, set in a world of magic, pirates, and superpowers, mistakenly featured a background performer wearing what appeared to be a smartwatch, contradicting the setting of the series. Viewers have been comparing this error to the 'Starbucks cup' incident of Game of Thrones Season 8. The streaming giant has since rectified the issue by removing the anachronistic prop from the trailer.

2023 is a good year to be Margot Robbie. For one, the Aussie actor is starring in what may be the biggest hit of her career: “Barbie.” Greta Gerwig’s irreverent take on the iconic Mattel doll line is lighting the box office on fire — with the potential to cross the $1 billion line worldwide. But this year also marks another milestone for Robbie. In December, she’ll be celebrating the 10th anniversary of “The Wolf of Wall Street,” the Martin Scorsese movie that made her a star.
Robbie didn’t exactly become famous overnight, though it felt like that for some American audiences in 2013. The then 22 year old was already well known in her native Australia for her regular part in iconic soap opera “Neighbours,” which she booked in 2008 when she was just 18. But for those outside Australia, audiences whose only (unlikely) exposure to Robbie was the failed ABC “Mad Men” coattail chaser “Pan Am,...

Margot Robbie's career skyrocketed in a short amount of time, landing prestigious roles and earning two Oscar nominations. While she has delivered standout performances in movies like Suicide Squad and Birds of Prey, not all of her films have been equally successful. Robbie's range as an actress is evident, as she has excelled in both adult dramas like The Wolf of Wall Street and family-oriented films like Peter Rabbit, proving her versatility.
From The Wolf of Wall Street and Birds of Prey to Barbie, Australian actress Margot Robbie has come to dominate Hollywood. Gran Turismo Release Date: 2023-08-11
The Gran Turismo cast adds a lot of prestige to the next movie by Neill Blomkamp. The adaptation of Sony's racing video game franchise is Blomkamp's fifth movie, but it has been 14 years since he made his name with District 9, although the director's road to success has been rockier since. Gran Turismo looks set to be another win for Blomkamp, and that's largely thanks to just how well-suited the cast clearly is to their characters. The Gran Turismo movie is based on a true story about a man who believed he could create the next big-name race car driver by enlisting video gamers who mastered the game.
When it comes to the actors bringing this story to life in Gran Turismo, Blomkamp has filled his cast with blockbuster stars, television favorites, Golden Globe nominees, and even one member of the best-selling female musical group of all time.

Christina Ricci treated her eight-year-old son to a trip to New York City despite her ex-husband, James Heerdegen, attempting to prevent him from going.
The Wednesday and Yellowjackets actress shared her and Freddie’s experience through her Instagram Stories. The trip began with a visit to the famed Fao Schwarz toy store where Ricci bought a box of Marvin’s Magic Snow, a powder that creates imitation snow when added to water.
The pair then went to Central Park and ate at the chic restaurant, Craft, afterward. There, Freddie dined on Osetra caviar dish with potato rosti, crème fraîche and a watermelon mocktail.
Ricci stated through court documents that Heerdegen would not permit Freddie to go with her to New York City after previously agreeing to the trip. She called the film producer’s behavior “vindictive” and later said, “Jimmy seems to be more focused on harassing and punishing me...

From Australian soap operas to working with some of the biggest names in the industry, Margot Robbie’s rise to stardom has only accelerated since her American film debut, “About Time,” in 2013. After three years of playing teenager “Donna Freedman” on the television show “Neighbours,” Robbie packed her bags and headed for Los Angeles where she would work on the ABC series “Pan Am,” playing a 1960s stewardess. The period dramedy was not renewed for a second season, but would mark Robbie’s final TV role pre-movie stardom.
The actress grew up with admiration for actors Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio, and has since shared the big screen with both of them. Robbie first gained serious industry attention playing Naomi Lapaglia — the bombastic wife to DiCaprio’s scammy stockbroker character in Martin Scorsese’s “The Wolf of Wall Street.” Only a few years later, Robbie would receive Oscar nominations for...

Some people say the age of the movie star is over. One actor who did not seem to get the memo is Margot Robbie. The actress has mapped out a spectacular career as a modern Hollywood A-lister, taking part in commercial blockbuster fare and critically-acclaimed projects that have both critics and general audiences buzzing and looking forward to Robbie's every new project.
What's even more remarkable is that the actress managed to reach such heights in a relatively short period. Robbie was an unknown quantity in Hollywood until 2013 when she got a dream opening opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in legendary filmmaker Martin Scorsese's ode to stocks corruption, The Wolf of Wall Street. Let us take a look at how Robbie ensured her role as Naomi Lapaglia in the movie would make an impact by doing things few other newcomers would have dared to do.

Bruce Miller has stepped down from his post as showrunner of the “The Handmaid’s Tale,” passing his duties on the sixth and final season to Eric Tuchman and Yahlin Chang, who already served as writers and executive producers.
Miller has showrun the Hulu drama since its premiere in 2017. He will remain on staff as a writer and executive producer on Season 6 while moving on to focus on developing a screen adaptation “The Testaments,” the “Handmaid’s Tale” sequel that original author Margaret Atwood wrote in 2019.
Tuchman has extended his preexisting overall deal with MGM, which serves as the studio on the series. It's strange to think of Margot Robbie as at one time being a struggling actor. These days she's known as the global superstar set to appear in the title role of the upcoming "Barbie" movie. Her luminous quality and impressive talent gives the impression she's always been a movie star. Of course, that's far from the truth. Like most actors, Robbie had to work hard to get where she is, spending three years on soap opera "Neighbours" in her native Australia before crossing the Pacific to take on America.
Once in the U.S., she appeared in a season of ABC's "Pan Am" before it was canceled, after which she popped up in the 2013 British rom-com "About Time," in what would be her first big studio film. But it wasn't until the she auditioned for Martin Scorsese that Robbie would get her big break. The legendary director had been involved...

Quick Links Panam: Cyberpunk Romance Option Judy: Cyberpunk Romance Option Cyberpunk 2077's Judy or Panam?
Cyberpunk 2077 has had its ups and downs, but in its current state Judy Alvarez and Panam Palmer continue to be its two best romance options. Cyberpunk 2077's characters are one of its greatest strengths, whatever one may say about its story or technical shortcomings, and much like The Witcher 3 before it, some of its side content (such as the quests related to its characters) end up being the most memorable, emotional parts of an otherwise fairly straightforward tale about corporate control and the limits of the human mind and body. This makes choosing which Cyberpunk 2077 character protagonist V should romance all the more difficult.
That said, there's no denying that though in any sort of ranking of Cyberpunk 2077's romance partners, Judy and Panam stand out as the two best by a Night City mile.

Margot Robbie may have bared all onscreen for “The Wolf of Wall Street,” but the true nakedness occurred after the film premiered.
Robbie recalled the overnight success she found following the debut of Martin Scorsese’s film co-starring Leonardo DiCaprio. Scene-stealing Robbie was age 22 at the time, and had come off of the Australian TV series “Neighbours” and the short-lived ABC ’60s drama “Pan Am.” The role of DiCaprio’s mistress-turned-wife in “The Wolf of Wall Street” skyrocketed Robbie’s career stateside, marking one of her first movie roles.
“Something was happening in those early stages and it was all pretty awful,” Robbie told Vanity Fair about her post-“Wolf” fame. “I remember saying to my mom, ‘I don’t think I want to do this.’ And she just looked at me, completely straight-faced, and was like, ‘Darling, I think it’s too late not to.’ That’s when I...
