Director Lennon Sullivan's name is referenced in the brand name of the lunch boxes as "Sullivan's Salads."

Cinematographer Taylor Amble's name is used on the address label for the boxes that Frankie sets out on her porch.

Producer Atanacio Rodriguez appears as one of the Hune.

Editor Krister Persson appears in Frankie's art class as a background extra.

Sound Recordist Ethan Lochridge's name is borrowed for the author of the book Frankie checks out from the library, "Creatures of the Ancient World," written as E. E. Lochridge.

All five crew members shake hands with Frankie in the montage sequence (in sequential order: Lochridge, Sullivan, Persson, Amble, and Rodriguez).

The credits for the primary production team and cast are arranged in the shape of a tree. Nature, trees, and the lack thereof is a main theme of the film.
