Portions of the script was based on Tony Young's "American Nudist: The Lost Journal." Publication of this book was delayed until 2013, but it is now available on Amazon and other outlets. Young's experience with the Hawaii Skinnydippers was alluded to but never made it to the final cut of the film.
His short stories "Naked People in Paradise" was filmed as a short titled, "Kelly Deerdale, Naturist," and another story "Once in Love with Aymi" was inserted to provide the DHM (deep hidden meaning.)
Unlike the film, the "narrator" of the book is a successful actor and writer. Missing scenes and scenes never shot made the main character appear to be a failure.
