The CW continues to cancel series, including Run the Burbs and Everyone Else Burns, limiting its scripted show catalog. The crisis continues on The CW. The network has canceled a long list of series in recent months, increasingly limiting its scripted show catalog, and they continue to do so with two new victims, Run the Burbs and Everyone Else Burns.

Run the Burbs premiered in 2022 on the Canadian network CBC Television, and was acquired by The CW in July 2023. The plot centers on a family living in the suburbs of the fictional town of Rockridge, and they seek to give a new spin to their lives, trying extremely new things. They’ll be replaced for now on linear with reruns of Whose Line Is It Anyway? and The Great American Joke Off.

The news of Everyone Else Burns comes just a few weeks after The CW ordered a second season of the critically acclaimed apocalyptic family comedy following Channel 4’s renewal of the UK series in August.

They are the most recent acquisitions to be pulled from the network, following Australian series Bump and Barons, which were pulled halfway through Seasons 2 and 1, respectively. Down to Earth With Zac Efron and Fantastic Friends, starring James and Oliver Phelps, were canceled after two episodes each.

Two more acquired series have gotten the chop at The CW.

Canadian sitcom Run the Burbs and British comedy Everyone Else Burns have both been pulled from the network’s Thursday lineup, TVLine has confirmed. Through at least Nov. 30, they’ve been replaced by reruns of Whose Line Is It Anyway? and The Great American Joke Off.

In a vote of confidence for its latest acquisition, The CW has picked up Season 2 of Everyone Else Burns ahead of its Stateside debut.

The British comedy, which bowed on the UK’s Channel 4 in January, received a Season 2 renewal in May. The six-episode first season premieres Thursday, Oct. 26 at 9:30/8:30c on The CW, behind “new” episodes of Canadian imports Son of a Critch, Run the Burbs and Children Ruin Everything.

Australian dramedy Bump has been dropped by the CW midseason, Deadline has confirmed. The network quietly removed the summer series about a pregnant 17-year-old from its Monday night lineup. It’s being replaced with repeats of Whose Line Is It Anyway? in the 9:30 pm slot. Five episodes of the second season of Bump have aired and the remaining five episodes of Season 2 will be available on the CW app and Cwtv.com.

Earlier today, additional changes were announced for the network’s fall schedule, with FBoy Island moving to Mondays from its originally scheduled Thursday night slot. Canadian comedies Son of a Critch, Run The Burbs and Children Ruin Everything and British comedy Everyone Else Burns will be moving from Monday nights to Thursday nights.

There’s a change in Tuesday primetime programming on The CW. The network has pulled travelogue series Down To Earth with Zac Efron and Fantastic Friends after just two episodes. Both series premiered on July 18. Remaining episodes will be available on the CW app and cwtv.com.

The CW will air reruns of Penn & Teller: Fool Us (8-9 pm) and Whose Line Is It Anyway? (9-10 pm) in their place.

Down To Earth and Fantastic Friends are the latest acquired series to be pulled from the CW schedule, following the Australian surfing drama Barons, which was pulled after four episodes in June.

Down To Earth with Zac Efron, acquired from Netflix, experienced a 24% drop in viewers from the first episode to episode 2, and Fantastic Friends had low viewership from the start, dropping from 161K viewers in episode 1 to 158K in episode 2. Seasons 1 and 2 of Down To Earth are still streaming on Netflix.

The CW cut two of its most recent series from broadcast after only airing two episodes of each: “Down to Earth with Zac Efron” and James and Oliver Phelps’ “Fantastic Friends,” TheWrap has confirmed.

Originally, the two shows were supposed to debut on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. throughout the summer. They have since been replaced by encore episodes of “Penn and Teller: Fool Us” and back-to-back episodes of “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” Remaining episodes of both series are available to stream on the CW app and on cwtv.com.

Neither of the series emerged as big ratings wins for The CW. During its brief time on the air, “Down to Earth” averaged 0.269 million views and earned a 0.04 in the 18 to 49 demo, putting it behind summer series such as “The Chosen,” “Nancy Drew,” “Riverdale” and “Son of a Critch.” “Fantastic Friends” performed even worse, only seeing an average...

The CW is making some last-minute changes to its schedule, which means we have some renew/cancel news.

The network has immediately pulled Down to Earth With Zac Efron and Fantastic Friends from their Tuesday slots.

News of the shows being yanked from the schedule is not entirely surprising:

Down to Earth With Zac Efron touched down on the network's summer slate with just over 300,000 viewers.

A week later, the numbers were down to 232,000 viewers.

Fantastic Friends started with 161,000 viewers and dipped slightly to 158,000 in week two.

While the numbers are not terrible (by CW summer standards), they are notably lower than what The Chosen, Nancy Drew, and Son of a Critch have been doing on the schedule this summer.

The swift cancellations come weeks after the network pulled the Australian drama series Barons from its schedule.

Telemundo’s new competition series “Los 50” debuted as the network’s most-watched program on Tuesday.

As viewers tuned in to watch 50 celebrities compete in challenges directed by the mysterious game master, El León, “Los 50” drew in a 0.2 demo score in the key cable demographic among adults 18-49 and a total viewership of 964,000 during its 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. airing, according to Nielsen-live-plus-same-day figures.

The premiere also scored big on digital with over 10,000 live linear views totaling 276,000 minutes viewed.

Viewership for the premiere of the new reality competition series beat that of the 10 p.m. airing of “Secretos de Sangre,” which scored a 0.1 rating and drew in 615,000 total viewers, resulting in an average rating of 0.2 and an average viewership of 854,000 for Telemundo’s Tuesday primetime programming.
