In an interview on the film, Karen Gillan admitted that she was really nervous filming the nude scene because she said she knew she'd have to sit around all day without any clothes on. But she said she got so used to it that after awhile she forgot she was naked. In fact, a couple of times when the director called "cut," Gillan would get up and walk around talking to people until someone would remind her she forgot to put on her robe.
Karen Gillan came onto the project following her heart breaking departure from "Doctor Who".
The film was financed in part by a crowdfunding campaign on the website Indiegogo, which raised USD$22,660. Additional funding came through the efforts of producer Claire Mundell, who "[patch-worked] a bunch of different sources of funding together, none of whom interfered in any kind of way with the film turned out".
Karen Gillan, Iain De Caestecker and Henry Ian Cusick went on to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Gillan starred as Nebula in Les Gardiens de la Galaxie (2014), De Caestecker joined the cast of Marvel : Les Agents du S.H.I.E.L.D. (2013) as Leo Fitz and Cusick became a guest star in Inhumans (2017) as Dr. Evan Declan.
A scene that was cut from the film saw Tom (Stanley Weber) crying reading about the death of the lead character's mother in Jane's book and saying that they're "manly tears" and Jane (Karen Gillan) tells Tom that her mother died when she was 7 and that her dad abandoned her and that she wished she knew where he was.
