Havana Nights is dedicated to my Cuban grandparents who tell me wonderful stories about 'la Cuba de ayer' (the Cuba of yesterday) at every Christmas dinner. The soundtrack of my movie features my original composition for piano also titled, 'Havana Nights.' The film begins with a voice over and my own personal reflection on the tales of my grandparents. It then goes on to depict a 'Walt Disney'-esque scene where two grandchildren bring a book to their Cuban grandfather in order to hear his stories about Cuba. I submitted this film to the Jersey Filmmakers of Tomorrow competition and won second place. I hope that I can touch those Cuban-Americans who hold Cuba in their hearts and memories forever.
