Although the majority of the film takes place at night, the entire film was shot during the day. The filmmakers used a technique called "day-for-night" in post-production to give the film a nighttime look.
During production, the weather was so cold that it snowed during some of the takes. During the scenes where the character of Elise had to stand on the beach in her nightgown, crew members were just out of frame holding a pile of blankets for the actress to use as soon as the director called "cut."
The composer, Jennifer Thomas, was hesitant about joining Minuet's team due to negative past experiences with film. The director, Ryan K. McNeal, was a huge fan of her work and through a long series of emails keeping her up-to-date on the project, he was eventually able to bring her onto Minuet after sending her footage of the film.
