Well I don't know what movie that other reviewer was watching but this is NOT a terrible movie and the acting is ACTUALLY decent which was a nice surprise considering most horror movies have crap actors. This is not a Hollywood production so don't expect it to be. It's not as pretty as some movies, but it is a very well made project for a low budget film. Sure the "monster" in one of the segments looks ridiculous, but the movie has a very Night Gallery/Twilight Zone/Outer Limits feel to it so if that's not your thing maybe skip this one. I give kudos to the director for this one and am recommending it to my horror loving friends to watch as well.
Oh and sorry to crush some people's grumpy spirit but I sure as hell don't know the director or anyone in this damn movie. I just gave MY honest opinion. I sure as hell didn't give it 9 or 10 stars either. Not my problem if some people have a hard time believing other's opinions may differ from theirs.

Acting was incredibly bad. Effects unspeakable. Lighting horrible. Directing no-existent. Avoid. Now, the way you tell an honest review vs. a fake one from the cast or a friend is to click on the name and look at how many reviews they have given before. The fake ones will generally just have this one review under the name. and honest one will have many more. That's just the way it is and I'm sure the fake one will try to give some explanation as to why they only have the single review but it's BS. And that's the TRUTH. Crap like this ALWAYS has people from the cast, the director, or a friend defending it instead of taking an honest look at what it is. It is garbage, and no matter how many good reviews you fake, nothing can change that.
8 x 10 ratings and 2 x 9's, trust me and I can say this with massive confidence, they are votes from people related to the making of this pile of garbage film. The acting is like some of the worst I have ever seen (and 2 of them won awards lol) Think Troma type of acting, and you'll know what to expect. The dialogue is unreal, to think that grown adults wrote the dialogue for this film is frightening, people just say the most pointless and inappropriate things and act like complete retards most of the time, it's stupid. The camera and sound design are ridiculous, poor colour and picture quality and sound that goes up and down at will, in some scenes you can barely hear the people speak while in others their voices are bellowing out of your TV. The effects lol seriously, they have to be seen to be believed, there's a monster in the film that looks like a sock puppet on strings, it's hilarious and the music sounds like something your 6 year old would play on his toy Casio keyboard. Avoid this trash at all costs, this was a 6.8 last week as all the 9's and 10's were voted for in one go and now it's come down to under a 5 rating, trust me, it will drop even lower once the REAL Honest votes flood in. It's terrible even for its obvious tiny budget. AVOID!!!
Gallery of Fear is a 3 story plus wraparound horror anthology movie and it's not entirely terrible.
It tells the story of a nasty art critic who is forced to endure three tales of terror. The first involving a deadly curse, the second about a bullied teacher and his connection to a bizzare creature and finally the third is a good ol' psychotic rednecks type tale.
The trouble is the first story is considerably better than the rest, had it not been for that it wouldn't have gotten the rating it has.
The first story is quaint and original, the second has pacing issues but is just barely watchable and the third is the weakest yet deals with a subject close to the directors heart I'd imagine. The writer/director is transgender and is the lead in the third tale, dealing with bigotry and transphobia. It's quite uncomfortable viewing for that and other reasons.
I like horror anthologys but as I always say the film can only be as good as it's weakest story. When only of 1 of 4 is enjoyable it doesn't leave it much chance to really shine.
There is worse out there but a bit of additional creativity could have saved this from being distinctly average.
The Good:
The first story is great
I can appreciate the effort that went into it
The Bad:
Using the same cast for different characters
Poor sfx
Things I Learnt From This Movie:
A smoking ban is something I could entirely get behind
I suddenly want to go on a nick nack shop roadtrip
The deep south doesn't seem like a very safe place for anyone from the LGBT community
