[5.8] Crushed or scarred

Well-made in a simple way, it has an engaging storyline, well-acted, sort of slow-paced not in a bad way, lots of suspension of disbelief, showing well enough in a tight frame a disproportionate system and "prejudices" that go with it.

The biographical story is saddening, but one cannot do anything about it cause there's a system in place and lonely souls get crushed in that world or are left with scars forever.

Solid

Soundtrack was good. I'd give a 7.5 if I could. Didn't realize it was based on a true story. I like movies like that. Aubrey has a bright future. Loved him as Cloak, though I'm a Marvel nerd lol Good ending always helps. Not sure why that isn't sufficient enough of a review, but apparently i still need 294 characters, so let's get it. The movie did give me good perspective on freedom and perceived freedom. Makes appreciate the small things like seeing color everyday, feeling the breeze on your skin, and hearing the birds sing. Watched this movie at the perfect time in my life with everything that's been going on. Worth the watch.

Bringing style and vision to a compelling story

OK so what does a movie need to really slap?

1. An all start ensemble cast (check) 2. A well written script that brings the prison cell and following escape, backstory to life (check) 3. A story that, is compelling, and in this case TRUE TO LIFE! (check) 4. Artistic style and direction (check check)

BOSCO is a quadruple threat. Checking all of the boxes. What a fantastic debut for budding talent, the writer and director Nicholas Manuel Pino. The story of BOSCO, the man himself, is insane. Escaping max security prison? The only person to do it in 2006. Watch this film!

I am very much looking forward to Nicholas' next film!!!

Trying this out randomly

It's pretty good generally not into prison stories much but this is definitely well made and can be hard to watch at times in a good way if that makes sense. Fits Thomas Jane, Theo Rossi and the main lead quite well; I'm surprised this isn't higher rated than 5.7 it seems a lot enjoyed Bosco I would say it deserve better! I can't imagine what it'd be like to be incarcerated seems genuinely awful to experience the absolute dread in such an isolated place. I really like how the movie gets better as it goes on it is a great thrill ride of an exclusive movie on peacock I hope the ratings increase it so well filmed!

W O W - left speechless Body

BOSCO was one of those movies that surprise you. You go in thinking one thing, and leave with a whole new perspective on things. Who knew one jail cell could keep me engaged for so long. It's one of those films where, you know he gets out because it's based on a true story, but how it all comes together, that's what matters. The journey each character goes through during 90 mins is insane!! The kind of movie that moves you and those around you. This movie flew by. What a cast, the acting was superb. And i read somewhere this is the directors first film?! Well that guy has a bright future I'll tell you that much. Do yourself a favor and check this one out on Peacock (if you have it lol). It has a lot to say, in a condensed format that doesn't get boring. Enjoy the flick!!!!

Pretty darn good prison movie

I'm a pretty big fan of the prison break genre. This one was compelling. Complex character development in such a short period of time. Thomas Jane is the maaan. I'd literally watch anything with him in it. I thought it felt a bit rushed at the end so I gave it 9 stars. Would still recommend anyone curious to check this out. Too bad it's only available on peacock or more friends could watch it too. Aubrey Joseph was new to me but that guy has some acting chops! Theo is a great cast too... vivica. Whoever cast this did a stellar job really. Tyrese! Lol haven't seen fast n furious in a while but good to see him too. I even wanna watch it again.

The best story/ movie that I've seen all YEAR!

I really enjoyed the story. The actor seemed strong. He seemed focus on what he wanted to do and he wasn't giving up. To know this movie was inspired by a true story made me want to keep on watching it until the end. I'm glad watched this movie. I have never been to prison, & I never want to do anything to go. This guy went through a lot while in there. While I watched it I was stressed out as an human being to know somebody was going through this. To know someone could escape a maximum security prison I was shocked. It took a lot of time and a lot of thought, but he did it. To know that his focus was on seeing his daughter was just amazing. I'm glad you're out, safe, & happy and you're with your daughter. Stay blessed and strong. At the end of the day. God Always has A plan for us. Great Story! Keep Going! Love the movie!

SOCIAL IMPACT ENTERTAINMENT IS HERE

BOSCO moves the spirit and invites viewers to consensually shatter our own preconceived notions and conditioning around right and wrong, moral and evil, justice, family, and human potential. I've been in the industry since I was a child. In 2014 I left Hollywood to do more direct social justice work.

BOSCO restored my faith in the power of mindful media powered by guttural and righteous Truths, backed by the community itself. Aubrey Joseph bares the character's soul. Brilliant writing and cinematography offer intense glimpses into his depth of intellect and resilience. The action is as spiritual as much as it is physical. Some scenes are are to watch, yet offer a pill we didn't know we needed.

It was also a pleasure to meet the cast and crew at the premier. Everyone is like a family and is so supportive of Quawntay and his daughter. Several expressed knowing loved ones in similar positions. The time is now to grow the movement around prison reform and BOSCO is an inside edge that can build trust with people from all walks of life.

I look forward to how far this film will reach in terms of both acclaim and impact.

BOSCO is a must watch

I felt multiple, strong emotions during this film. It was a beautiful rollercoaster. So well written, acted, and directed. More of these sort of stories need to be told. Our penal system has ruined lives, and some folks like BOSCO, the real man behind the story, are an inspiration to those who are still stuck behind bars over nonsense.

The story is moving. The fact this really happened is just mind blowing. The ending is fire. I'm really proud of all of those involved in getting this made. What was supposed to take 2 years took 5 because filming started right before the pandemic. All I gotta say is...

Check out BOSCO!

BOSCO gave me hope, faith in humanity

BOSCO gave me hope in a sense that, not all is lost. Mistakes have been made, but in time, the truth will come out. We will move forward together. As a human race.

A movie that showcases the imbalance in the scales of justice, the difficulty in addressing mental health issues, and the strength it takes to overcome incredible odds to even get a chance at success.

The raw performance by Aubrey Joseph was riveting. His ability to seamlessly transition from one emotion to the next draws you into his character and his experience.

The authenticity of the storyline and the actors' connection to the story and message made me what to experience more about Bosco and his life story. It's a must see!

Not what I expected

A friend recommended this to me because he knows i'm a fan of prison movies but wasn't expecting this. Thought by the poster might be more like a low budget action movie. I was wrong. It definitely is a lower budget under 10 million dollar movie, but caught myself fully bought in to the struggle of the main character, Bosco and the supporting characters. There were no big prison brawls although one cool fight scene that again, wasn't what I expected. The performances are great. I wish I had some more time with some of them, but the time I did have flew by. Was great seeing Vivica Fox in a strong role again. I wish there was more time with Bosco when he got out but I guess the writers had to stick with the true events of what actually happened. I loved the style of the ending scenes with the narrator over the music and all the cutting back and forth. The style overall was pretty damn cool. For all the maybe too quick paced storytelling, I still felt satisfied and like I was immersed in a world that led to some interesting questions.

Using cinema for social good!

Was the most captivating film I've seen in years. Aubrey Joseph did an amazing job at portraying BOSCO. Movie was absolutely 10/10

Not often does a movie hold my attention for an hour or 90 minutes, this one did! It was both stunning and eye opening. How have we let our penal system get to this point? BOSCO is a low key genius too, how did he manage that on his own?

It leaves you wondering how many more BOSCOs there are out there who haven't escaped. It's sad, but I'm glad we're using cinema to open the eyes of the masses. One way to people's hearts and mind, has always been through beautiful cinema, and BOSCO fits the bill.

bosco is the real deal

I reserve perfect 10s for cinema masterpieces, but this one felt kinda damn near close. I thought the cast was meticulously crafted. So much time and effort went into making this film you can tell. It left me feeling overwhelmed, the ending is something else. I still feel hopeful though for the future. It sounds like this Bosco guy is the real deal, helping out the community and such now. He took a lemon and made lemonade. Mad props for that. I think it's definitely worth an hour and a half of your life to feel what bosco felt. It's a lesson in life really, there is always hope if you can center yourself and move forward.

Read the Book Too!

I can not imagine what it would be like to be locked in a cage for the mere attempt to possess cannabis. The role his Dad played in his life was heartbreaking. This movie made me so much more appreciative of my life. I literally felt myself clenching in the chair when he was interacting with the warden and the vicious guards. I do not believe the way we treat human beings in prison in this country is solving anything. I was rooting for him the whole time. This movie makes me want to work in prison reform to do something about it. I applaud Bosco for the way he handled his incarceration and felt like I was there with him the whole way. MUST SEE!!!
