    Ah. The memories...

I remember playing this game for the first time on the 64 when I was a teenager and instantly fell in love with Legend of Zelda: ocarina of time. It was a rented game so I had to rented it out again. After I finally received a copy of my own I ended up playing it countless of times over the years. I've never got bored of it. Even when it was release of virtual console, I download it onto my Wii immediately. When I heard it was going to be remake for the 3DS my heart soared as I knew what it meant. Better graphic (no visible blocky polygon) better ways of playing and in 3D.

    I was not let down.

Every building or dungeon I enter I couldn't help but utter "wow!" like I have just seen it for the first. The 3D effect made you like you were in the room as it added real depth and distance of each wall. And the movement of each character you see are very smooth and swift.

I could on and on about this brilliant game by there's a limit number of words you can use in a review. So I shall sum it up by saying: Don't just take my word for it. Play it and you WON'T be disappointed:).

    Instant classic remade for 3DS

10 out of 10 "A masterwork, reborn in your hands."

There are remasters, and then there's Ocarina of Time 3D-a loving, meticulous resurrection of what many consider the greatest game of all time. Released for the Nintendo 3DS, this version doesn't just slap a coat of polish on a classic-it reimagines it for a new generation without losing the soul that made the original legendary.

    The World, Reawakened:

From the moment you step into Kokiri Forest to the moment you face Ganondorf in the crumbling depths of his castle, Ocarina of Time 3D feels familiar yet fresh. The updated visuals respect the original's design while adding clarity, depth, and polish. The lighting is richer, the textures smoother, and characters like Link, Zelda, and even the twisted Gohma feel more alive and expressive.

Hyrule Field has never looked better on a handheld. And when the sun sets behind Death Mountain, casting an orange glow across the landscape-you feel it. The nostalgia. The grandeur. The epic scale crammed into the palm of your hand.

    Gameplay Improvements:

Grezzo and Nintendo nailed the refinements: Touch screen inventory: No more pausing mid-boss fight to switch boots or items.

Gyro aiming: Optional, but incredibly fluid once mastered-especially with the bow, slingshot, and hookshot.

Sheikah Stones: Optional hint system for new players, totally ignorable for veterans.

Master Quest: Once you finish the game, you unlock the mirrored, harder version with new dungeon layouts for a real challenge.

This isn't just a remake-it's the definitive way to play Ocarina of Time.

    Timeless Storytelling:

The emotional weight of the journey still hits: Young Link's innocence.

The heartbreak of leaving Saria behind.

    Zelda's quiet bravery as Sheik.

The time skip-seven years vanished in an instant.

Ganondorf's slow-burn rise from political manipulator to demon king.

It's Shakespearean in structure, filled with prophecy, betrayal, sacrifice, and destiny. And yet, it's entirely Nintendo-bright, hopeful, and deeply human.

    Why It Still Reigns:

Ocarina of Time 3D is more than just a history lesson. It's proof that greatness doesn't age-it evolves. This version refines and elevates the original without compromising what made it sacred. Every dungeon still feels like a rite of passage. Every melody from the Ocarina still stirs something deep.

    Final Word:

10 out of 10 This isn't just one of the best remakes ever made-it's still one of the greatest games ever made. If you have a 3DS, you owe it to yourself to revisit (or finally experience) the legend that defined a genre.

    • Trivia
If the player completes the game, they will unlock a hard mode, called Master Quest. Originally, shortly after the original Nintendo 64 version of "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time" was released, development began on a pseudo-remake of the game dubbed 'Ura Zelda,' or literally 'Another Zelda.' This game was designed for the 64DD, an expansion for the Nintendo 64 that ultimately met with commercial failure. Eventually, this version of the game was released in a bundle as "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time- Master Quest" on the GameCube re-release. The Nintendo 3DS remake contains updated versions of both games, although the Master Quest mode is mirrored (for instance, locations to the East are now on the West side of the map).
