Brad Pitt is back!
The 53-year-old actor made a surprise appearance at the 2017 Golden Globes on Sunday, presenting a clip from Moonlight.

"Moonlight is born of Barry Jenkins' and Tarell Alvin McCraney's courage to look back, to embrace their past and insist that their 'now' is not separate from their 'then,'" said Pitt, whose production company, Plan B, produced the film. "It was born of the courage of a group of actors willing to strip their souls, and express the humanism inside mistake and misstep and misdeed. It is Barry Jenkins' profound belief that we all stand at the threshold of change and forgiveness, and all be granted acceptance and love to ourselves."
"Nominated for six Golden Globes," he concluded, "this is Moonlight."

Filmmaker Christopher Nolan's Interstellar still has fans talking two weeks after first hitting theaters, with many continuing to overthink the ending. During an interview with The Daily Beast, the filmmaker shed some light on a pivotal scene.
There will be Spoilers below, so read on at your own risk.
One of the biggest surprises for audiences was the reveal that Matt Damon portrays Dr. Mann, one of the original astronauts sent out during the Lazarus missions to find a new home for humanity. Cooper (Matthew McConaughey) and the rest of the Endurance crew head to Mann's planet because the data from beacon readings were promising, but they come to realize that Mann faked the data so he could be rescued. Mann ultimately attacks Cooper and leaves him to die, leaving to set up "Plan B" on Edmunds' planet.
When asked about Mann's motivations for this actions, Christopher Nolan had this to say.

Obviously the following article is going to contain Spoilers as it includes parts of an interview in which Christopher Nolan talks about the end of his sci-fi film Interstellar.
The most powerful aspect of the film is the message that it delivers about love. Love is a central theme of the story, and it plays a role in the pivotal moment at the end that brings everything together. Of course, the story also highlights the dark side of humanity. Especially when Cooper (Matthew McConaughey) and his team arrive on Dr. Mann’s planet, lured there by the promising data the they received. When they arrive and wake Mann (Matt Damon) up, we learn that the bastard faked the data so that he could get rescued. Mann eventually attacks Cooper and leaves him to die, so that he can initiate “Plan B”.

Christopher Nolan made Memento, but he also made The Dark Knight Rises. Great filmmakers can make bad movies: This is not a particularly complicated equation. And Nolan's new space melodrama Interstellar is not a particularly complicated movie. The science is elaborate and insane, but the emotional stakes are simple: Father loves daughter, father saves humanity. But Nolan is one of our plottiest filmmakers. (Most films have three acts; Nolan's movies usually have at least six, usually out of order and/or overlapping.) I attempted to explain the plot of Interstellar, but even I ran up against some impenetrable cosmo-logic. Some...

The Matthew Vaughn and Brad Pitt-produced actioner packed less than the original, while Disney's animation soared nicely
• Read the archive of Charles Gant's UK box office reports
• More on Kick-Ass 2
The winner
Thanks to Wednesday/Thursday previews totalling just over £1m, Kick-Ass 2 lands at the top of the UK box-office chart with takings of £2.48m. It's the fifth chart-topper of 2013 for the distributor Universal, following Les Misérables, Oblivion, Fast & Furious 6 and Despicable Me 2.
While Universal and the production companies – Matthew Vaughn's Marv and Brad Pitt's Plan B – will be happy with the chart placing, closer consideration of the data yields less for them to celebrate. The original Kick-Ass debuted with £3.88m, including extensive previews of £2.05m, on its way to an £11.77m total. While you wouldn't always expect a sequel to match the total box-office of the original, you would certainly anticipate a relatively strong opening,...

The big-screen adaptation of the 2011 Nicholas Sparks novel The Best of Me has switched hands from Warner Bros. to Relativity, the studio that ushered Safe Haven and Dear John into theaters, Deadline reports. While I have seen every Nicholas Sparks movie, I don’t actually read the books. Therefore, to help cast the film — i.e. the people who will inevitably be touching each other’s faces on the movie poster — I reached out to my mother, who’s read the entire Sparks canon and is currently bored awaiting release from the hospital. (She’s swooning over her doctor – she’s fine).

You might have forgotten, but in 2011 Cameron Crowe dropped three movies after being absent from the big screen for six years: the Matt Damon dramedy "We Bought a Zoo" and two music documentaries, "The Union" and "Pearl Jam Twenty." And heading into 2012, he isn't slowing down one bit. At the end of last month, his once-aborted romantic comedy "Deep Tiki" came back to life over at Sony with Emma Stone attached, and now he's got two more projects brewing that he'll tackle once that picture is in the can. The Wrap reveals that the drug addiction memoir "Beautiful Boy" is being prepped as Crowe's followup effort to "Deep Tiki." This one has been in the works for a while as well, and in early 2011 it was reported that Crowe's adapation of David Sheff's memoir -- which chronicled his son's meth addiction -- was rejected by Brad Pitt's Plan B...

Good news for 30 Rock fans! Tom Hanks stirred up the twitter-verse last night with the following tweet: “RadioMan delivers msg from T.Fey. Result? I’m on 30 Rock! Thanks, RMan Hanx.” The two-time Academy Award winner, who got his start on television with the early ’80s sitcom Bosom Buddies, has not been a guest star on a TV series since his turn as Uncle Ned on Family Ties in 1984. Of course, 30 Rock has had great success luring big guest stars (including Matt Damon, Jon Hamm, Jennifer Aniston, Steve Martin, Oprah) and just the idea of a Hanks-Fey team-up is pretty funny already.
