Exclusive: Producer Neal H. Moritz and actor Vin Diesel have logged a lot of miles together with The Fast and The Furious franchise, but the reunited tandem have been in South Africa working on a very different action epic for Sony: Bloodshot, which adapts the sci-fi superhero introduced in 1992 in the pages of Valiant Comics. The script by Oscar-nominated Arrival scribe Eric Heisserer introduces Diesel as the cyborg called Bloodshot, an unstoppable machine-man assassin whose human memories were wiped clean by the lab experiment that created him.
Bloodshot has a first-time director in Dave Wilson, the longtime Blur Studios collaborator of Deadpool director Tim Miller. Andrea Giannetti is overseeing for Sony, which has Cross Creek as a partner on the project. Sony high hopes that Bloodshot will be the...

With Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 on hold, Chris Pratt is in talks to star in an action thriller from writer/director Taylor Sheridan.
Chris Pratt may not be hard up for headlining roles, but the drama that saw Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 lose director James Gunn, only to be subsequently delayed, has left another major vacancy in his blockbuster backlog after another one of his movies, Cowboy Ninja Viking, was delayed indefinitely this past summer. Consequently, Pratt is looking at a role that would see him embrace his action aptitudes in a grittier context than we’re used to seeing.
Talks have begun for Pratt to star in a Warner Bros. action film, tentatively titled Fast, reports Variety. The film is written by Taylor Sheridan, who’s also set to direct, joined by veteran producer David Heyman. The plot of the film is touting interagency conflict,...

Though many want to see George Miller continue his adventures in the world of Mad Max, the director has always been one to divert from expectations and he’ll be doing just that with his newly-announced next project, Three Thousand Years Of Longing. Set to begin production next year, there’s no plot or casting to be revealed, but as one can glean from the title, it’s said to be entirely new territory for the director and “epic in scope,” Deadline reports. Update: THR reports that Idris Elba and Tilda Swinton will star in the film (also going by Djinn), which involves a love story and a genie.

Chris Pratt is in talks to star in Taylor Sheridan’s next directorial project, an individual with knowledge of the project told TheWrap.
Tentatively titled “Fast,” the film is being produced by David Heyman and will be Sheridan’s directorial follow-up to 2017’s “Wind River.” Before then, he served as a writer on “Sicario” and its sequel, as well as “Hell or High Water.”
The film will follow a former special forces commando who gets recruited by the DEA to target drug dealers. The catch: They are protected by the DEA.

With “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” postponed for the foreseeable future, Chris Pratt looks to have found his next film — he is in negotiations to star in Taylor Sheridan’s new writing and directing gig.
The film, which David Heyman is producing, follows a former special forces commando (Pratt), who’s recruited by the DEA to lead a black ops strike team targeting drug dealers who are protected by the CIA.
The movie, which has the working title “Fast,” would be Sheridan’s follow-up to his directorial debut, 2017’s “Wind River.” Sheridan has been eyeing this as his next directorial effort for quite some time, meeting with top talent since summer to find the best actor for the job. Since the film carries a budget in the $70 million to $80 million range, Warner Bros. needed a star in order to give it the greenlight. The studio pumped the brakes on...

Veteran Director Priyadarshan and Complete Actor Mohanlal have worked together on at least forty films over the years -- Mohanlal even did a turn with a cameo in the director's 2012 Hindi film Tezz. The two have been part of some of Malayalam cinema's most memorable comedies -- films like Boeing Boeing (1985), Akkare Akkare Akkare (1990) and Thenmavin Kombath (1994) are considered classics, though more recent outings like 2011's Oru Marubhoomikkadha have fared less well. This Onam though, they're hoping to recreate some of that earlier magic with Oppam ("Together"), in which Mohanlal brings his considerable acting skill and comedic talent to the role of a blind man who is wrongly accused of a murder, and who must work to clear himself of the...

Kapil Sharma can take a bow, and look even more smug. His feature-film debut in Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon opened well.

Giving out duds at Box-office is not harmful but what is really demeaning is being part of unworthy, embarrassing movies. Though we are not making any perception about the caliber and potential of an actor like Ajay Devgn, there are few flicks which the superstar would also want disown like us or he might always regret of. While we take a look at the disasters he readily (and repeatedly) did, we also hope Ajay steers clear of it in future.
Action Jackson: With the actor putting on his dancing shoes, everyone deemed it to be an image changeover for Ajay Devgn and the most-anticipated spectacle of the year. On the contrary filmmaker Prabhu Dheva and Ajay's combination was shunned by all.

As the director of the 2008 National Award winning Tamil film, Kanchivaram and many other classics, Priyadarshan needs no introduction nor to be questioned if he can sparkle up the screen. But not everyone remembers this and time is what it is. Although not nearly as breathtaking, Rangrezz would probably fall into the same category of films he directed as Aakrosh and Tezz, showing the serious/realistic cinema side of him. A remake from Tamil, it stars Jackky Bhagnani, Priya Anand, Vijay Verma and Amitosh Nagpal in lead roles. The original film, Naadodigal, has been remade into 4 other languages since its release in 2009. But the key here is whether Rangrezz will see the same success.

Mumbai, March 22: Filmmaker Priyadarshan is not much into item songs. When an item song was brought into his last Hindi release "Tezz", he had rebelled against the producer, Ratan Jain and disowned the product. It is surprising then how he agreed to include an item song in his new film "Rangrezz".
It was only after initial reservations that he was okay with the desi version of "Gangnam style" to be part of the Vashu Bhagnani production, which features the producer's son Jackky in the lead.
"Look, I don't want to come across as the party-pooper every time. I don't want to get the reputation of a director, who comes in the way.

Just before the success of Bol Bachchan, detractors had already started pulling down Ajay Devgn from the top line of stars because his last two releases, Rascals and Tezz, had met with disastrous fates. This was quite similar to the treatment meted out to his Suhaag and Khakee co-star, Akshay Kumar, who was going through a very bad phase until Housefull 2 and Rowdy Rathore came along and propelled him in to the top slot. Hyderabad: Sameera Reddy is on cloud nine these days. She has received positive remarks from all over the nation for her latest flick “Tezz”. But she says that when ‘Laila’, the item number in “Tezz” was snatched away from her and given to Mallika Sherawat, she felt really dissapointed, but she is ready to bury the past and move ahead!

Sajid and Wajid are definitely becoming the go-to composers for the latest trend of masala film music with a South Indian twist. Whether the duo often succeeds in this genre is up for debate, but the Rowdy Rathore soundtrack comes with mammoth expectations. If the Housefull 2 and Tezz soundtracks were a bit lacklustre, then the duo has a lot more to prove in their usual comfort zone. The film features a return for director-choreographer Prabhu Deva since his last hit Wanted. This time Akshay Kumar takes over the masala hero duties and Sonakshi Sinha making more of an impact since her debut in Dabangg. Truly the spirit of the 90s is back with this loud and catchy album, which may divide the listeners with its gleeful use of every drum imaginable!
