Sometimes, the funniest people end up turning in some of the most intense dramatic work, so it should come as no surprise that Eric Stonestreet, best-known for making audiences laugh as Cameron Tucker on Modern Family, has lined up a killer role on Dexter: Resurrection. The actor joins a series of big names with major story arcs in the next thrilling chapter of the titular character's life.
Per Deadline, Stonestreet has joined the cast in a major guest arc on the series. The actor is expected to appear in four episodes and will portray a serial killer called Al. The Modern Family alum joins Krysten Ritter's Mia and Neil Patrick Harris' Lowell, who are rumored to have guest stints as serial killers that will keep Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall) very busy. Dexter: Resurrection has been filming in New York since January and will arrive on Paramount+ with Showtime this summer.

You'll never guess which Modern Family star just landed a serial killer role on Dexter: Resurrection
Another Emmy-winning comedy actor has joined the cast of Dexter: Resurrection, the upcoming sequel series to Dexter: New Blood. Eric Stonestreet, who famously played Cameron Tucker on all 11 seasons of Modern Family, has been tapped to recur on the series in what is believed to be a serial killer role.
The exclusive comes from Deadline, the same outlet that previously reported both Neil Patrick Harris and Krysten Ritter's casting news. Apparently, all three characters are playing serial killers as part of their guest-starring arcs. It remains to be seen if they're going to work together in some capacity, or just be one of several villains that Dexter has to eliminate.
Deadline says Stonestreet has been cast as a character named Al. Like the actor, Al also hails from the Midwest and will reportedly appear in four episodes as part of a "high profile guest-arc."

“The Z-Suite” isn’t the first time Lauren Graham has helped a new network launch one of its flagship shows.
“When we did ‘Gilmore Girls,’ The WB was pretty new, so I thought it was cool to be part of a new platform,” Graham told TheWrap. The mother-daughter comedy-drama was the 16th original series to premiere on The WB and later became one of its most popular shows.
“Back then, I don’t think I understood pressure in the same way,” Graham said. “I got to an upfront where they told us we were up against ‘Friends.’ I was like, ‘Oh, that’s the literal opposite of pressure because no one expects us to do anything numbers wise.'”
Twenty-five years later, Graham is back in a similar position as the lead of Tubi’s very first entry into the world of scripted television, “The Z-Suite.” But unlike in the 2000s,...

30 Rock remains one of TV’s most beloved comedy series. It was awarded 16 Emmys in its 7-year stint at NBC. What really set the show apart was both the fast humor and the characters that fans still remember. Developed by Tina Fey and mostly inspired by her own work for Saturday Night Live as a head writer, the show depicted fictional sketches of the working environment of an NBC sketch comedy show.

The only role that is more popular than Tim Allen’s Santa Claus from the eponymous franchise is his role as Buzz Lightyear in the Toy Story films. The animated films are beloved by Pixar fans and it is in large part due to Allen and co-star Tom Hanks’ voice roles. After four blockbuster films, a fifth part is due to release in 2026.
While the Toy Story films received incredible box office numbers, many fans have expressed their discontent about how both the third and fourth parts felt like the end of the franchise, only for Pixar to make another one. This has led many to criticize the studio for attempting to capitalize on the films’ success. However, Allen disagreed with this notion.

Quick Links 'The Santa Clause' Trilogy and Weak Third Movie 'The Santa Clause' TV Series Fixed the Ending
30 years after its premiere, The Santa Clause remains a holiday classic. We all know the story. After accidentally killing Santa Claus, Tim Allen's Scott Calvin has to take his place. Pretty bold start to a kid's movie when you think about it. The original film received two sequels, The Santa Clause 2 and The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause. While the first outing earned mainly positive reviews, critical and audience reception dipped as the franchise went on.
The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause was regarded by many as the weakest of the three. Since no fourth film was ever commissioned, it looked like that was where Santa would hang up his jacket. But a decade-and-a-half later, we revisited the world with The Santa Clauses TV series.

Once December hits, it's time to break out the Christmas movies, most of which are thoroughly entertaining, despite the fact that they have the same frustrating plot hole. Production studios have released a wide variety of festive flicks over the years. From classics like It's a Wonderful Life to modern films like The Christmas Chronicles, there are so many entertaining and heartwarming holiday movies to watch at the end of each year. However, some contain an inconsistency that has been repeated time and time again, resulting in frustration during what's supposed to be a joyful and celebratory time.
In early 2024, Gary Goetzman, producer of The Polar Express, told Comicbook.com that a sequel is in the works at Warner Bros. However, the studio has yet to make any official announcements regarding the movie.

It's no secret that it's tough to create a memorable Christmas movie that sticks with audiences for years to come. Many are produced each year, but few become classics that families will watch together time and time again. In 1994, Disney produced an off-beat Christmas movie starring comedian Tim Allen titled The Santa Clause. At the top of his game in the mid-1990s with a hit TV show, Allen seemed like somewhat of an unconventional choice to play Santa Claus. But the film ended up being successful, so successful that it expanded into a franchise in the early 2000s.

After he “zoned out” and nearly crashed a car with fellow agents in it, Parker called Dr. Grace to make a home visit.

Tim Allen is well-known for playing Tim Taylor in the 1990s sitcom Home Improvement, and now one of his lesser-reviewed movies is finding success on streaming. One of his other popular characters is Buzz Lightyear in the Toy Story franchise, a role he will return to in Toy Story 5 in 2026. After Home Improvement, Allen returned to TV as Mike Baxter in the sitcom Last Man Standing, which even featured a crossover with his breakout hit, as the star played both Mike and Tim in an episode. His next TV sitcom, Shifting Gears, is set to premiere on ABC on January 8.
Allen has also had success with Christmas movies. His best-known holiday role is as Scott Calvin in 1994's The Santa Clause, which followed his character taking up the mantle of Santa. Allen once again put on the red suit in the 2002 sequel The Santa Clause 2, as well as...

We have a premiere date for the new Tim Allen sitcom Shifting Gears, so here’s what you need to know about the new ABC comedy!
Tim Allen has proven himself one of the best and most reliable comedic stars of his time. Rising up as a stand-up comic in the late 1980s, Allen hit the big time in 1991 with the ABC sitcom Home Improvement. The highly-rated sitcom lasted eight seasons to establish Allen as a comedic star. That led to further success in movies like The Santa Clause, Galaxy Quest, and voicing Buzz Lightyear in the Toy Story franchise.
Allen returned to TV in 2011 in the ABC sitcom Last Man Standing, which ran for six seasons and then an additional three on Fox. He then reprised his role in the Disney+ The Santa Clauses series, while still mixing in a few turns as Buzz.

The premise for John Pasquin's 1994 hit Christmas film "The Santa Clause" is amusingly morbid at its heart. On Christmas Eve, divorced schlub Scott Calvin (Tim Allen) hears a clatter on his rooftop. When he goes to investigate, he finds that it's Santa Claus himself, scuttling down his chimney. Scott startles Santa, causing the jolly old fellow to slip off the roof and fall to his death. Yes, a delightful family comedy begins with the death of Santa.
Following some written instructions hidden on a business card in Santa's sleigh, Scott puts on the big guy's red coat and, lo finds he has to take Santa's place for the night. Once all the gifts are delivered, Calvin is taken to the North Pole, where he learns there was some fine print on the business card. In putting on the coat, Scott agreed to become Santa Claus in perpetuity, and will...

The Santa Clause is making an early impact on Disney+ this year, as the classic 1994 holiday comedy starring Tim Allen finds itself charting high on the nice list aka, the Disney+ movie chart. The film climbed up to fourth place last week, but has since skipped to the top of the tree, and was joined by sequel, The Santa Clause 2, which scrambled into ninth place. We are still well over a month away from the big day, but it seems that it is never too early to get into the festive spirit.
Upon its initial release, The Santa Clause scored well with both critics and audiences, and that was reflected in its decent $190 million box office gross a very good return back in 1994. Arriving a year before Tim Allen would become forever known as the voice of a certain infinity and beyond-loving space ranger, he played Scott Calvin, a...

One of the most beloved Santa Claus movies in modern cinema, The Santa Clause tells the fantastical story of Scott Calvin (Tim Allen) reluctantly becoming Santa Claus after accidentally knocking the former Santa off the roof of his house on Christmas Eve. Scott attempts to go about his normal life as a business person, until the following Christmas, when he decides to fully embrace the role of Santa Claus. He happily fills this role from the time of the original movie through the events of the recent show The Santa Clauses.
While the original The Santa Clause very clearly depicts how the former Santa falls off the roof and disappears, leaving Scott to become the new Santa, the movie does not clarify for the audience who the old Santa actually was. However, Disney+'s recent The Santa Clauses show follows many of the same characters while providing more insight into...

However, if you grew up in the 90s and early 2000s, it's a safe bet that one of your favorite Christmas films is Chris Columbus Home Alone. The 1990 family home invasion comedy will be celebrating its 35th anniversary next year. Now, Funko is starting the festive party early with a new batch of Home Alone Pops.

Shifting Gears is Tim Allen's new sitcom and there's been a lot of news about the cast, story, and more. First, there was Home Improvement and then there was Last Man Standing, then there came The Santa Clauses, and now there's Shifting Gears, Tim Allen's fourth TV show. Tim Allen is a complicated figure for a lot of folks of a certain age. Tim "The Toolman" Taylor on "Home Improvement" turned him into a beloved TV dad, voicing Buzz Lightyear in "Toy Story" made him synonymous with the childhoods of a generation, and perhaps most importantly, he's Santa Claus. He's also an actor who has been very open about his conservative political beliefs, going so far as to star in the right-wing sitcom "Last Man Standing" for nine seasons. This makes him a polarizing presence in the overwhelmingly left-leaning Hollywood, but Allen's controversies are far worse than his views on the American government.
In Pamela Anderson's memoir "Love, Pamela," she noted that Allen flashed her on the set of "Home Improvement" when she was only 23 and claimed, "He said it was only fair because he had seen me naked.

In nearly a month Saturday Night Live (SNL) will be reaching 50 seasons. It's hard to believe that the time slot, filled with comedic performances by some of the best and most unforgettable performers and comedians, began way back in 1975.
There are so many actors and actresses who began their careers through SNL including Billy Crystal, Adam Sandler, Tina Fey, Chevy Chase, Amy Poehler, Chris Rock, and Robert Downey Jr. Who knows which celebrities will grace our television screens and movie theaters next.
As we approach the new season, we wanted to compile a list of actors who we'd love to see host SNL. Some may have appeared before, whereas others have never stepped foot upon the legendary stage.
Let's begin!
1. Matt Smith House of the Dragon season 2
From Doctor Who to House of the Dragon and The Crown, Matt Smith might seem initially like an odd choice for this list.
