Jeff Probst, the host of Survivor since its very first season, is no stranger to the tough decisions and bold risks that have kept the show fresh and unpredictable. While many twists have thrilled fans and shaped the game’s history, some have sparked controversy—even for Probst himself.

One particular twist stands out as a decision Probst has openly criticized for years. In an interview, he shared his strong feelings about why this moment clashed with the very heart of what Survivor is all about, making it one of the most debated moves in the show’s history.

Over 50 years of British sci-fi television, the genre went from one golden age to another. The 1970s gave us bleakly devastating visions of the future, the 1980s gave us space invasions and comedy, the 1990s blended crime drama with sci-fi, and the 2000s remade shows from the 1970s and gave us Christopher Eccleston as two kinds of god.
Then came the 2010s, the birth of transatlantic co-productions and streaming. British sci-fi television was no longer the cheaper, shoddier counterpart to its US equivalent. The production values were glossy, the cast reached A-list heights, and the writing was what you’d expect from the most recent golden age of television. The age of cheap and cheerful sitcom-adjacent British science fiction was over… almost.

I am a huge fan of Cyberpunk 2077 (the video game) having come to it on console long after any of the controversy around its release had died down. Thanks to my love of the IP, I have been looking forward to getting a copy of Cyberpunk 2077: Gangs of Night City, even though the original Kickstarter was one of Cmon’s least successful in recent years.
Cyberpunk 2077: Gangs of Night City is all about area movement and control. Each player controls one of four gangs in the base game (or six if you include the Families and Outcasts expansion) and will use their units to claim both regions on the board and the business within them to gain points – which the game refers to as street cred.
The board itself is perhaps a bit overly large, with six regions on each side of the map, and the difference on...

The Division 2's first year will be loaded with new content.
Ubisoft has already shared the first details about The Division 2's first year of Dlc updates.
The most significant pieces of The Division 2's first year of content updates are the three episodes that make up the game's initial story arc. The first episode, titled D.C. Outskirts: Expeditions, adds new missions to the game and will see you track down members of the Outcasts and Black Tusks (two rival in-game factions). This episode will also allow players to embark upon a mission that sees them hunt down a lost convoy.
The Division 2's second episode (Pentagon: The Last Castle) will also add new missions to the game that revolve around a still mysterious situation involving the Pentagon (which has seemingly been converted into some kind of stronghold). The final episode will conclude The Division 2's Year One storyline,...

The second story in the Electric Dreams anthology series takes us into space with mixed results…
This review contains spoilers.
See related 35 films we want to watch in 2017
1.2 Impossible Planet
Like trousers with an elasticated waist, sci-fi is naturally forgiving of flab. As a genre, it stretches comfortably over excess and accommodates unattractive lumps. Tale full of high-reaching themes but no convincing characters? Stick a robot in it, give everyone tosser haircuts and job done. Have a ponderous philosophical point to make but can’t quite join up your story elements? Set it on a spaceship, call it literary sci-fi and nobody will notice.
They will notice, of course, because what’s being described above is bad sci-fi. Disappointingly, Impossible Planet, the second instalment in the Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams anthology series, is closer to that than the good stuff. It’s overfamiliar, alternately lifeless and stagey in performance,...

Sky and the producers of new drama series The Tunnel have defended the decision to adapt the critically acclaimed Scandinavian crime drama The Bridge.
Clémence Poésy and Stephen Dillane star in the Anglo-French twist on the Nordic Noir series, and the drama's chief exec Janet Featherstone insisted that fans of the original shouldn't be put off by the remake.
"I think the concept of Britain and France is particularly woven through and we've got key plot changes," said Featherstone, speaking at a Sky Drama launch.
"I won't tell you what the changes are because I don't want to spoil the drama, but there are plenty of changes and we've got many people who have seen both, who feel that they get satisfaction because the characters go on different journeys and the actors all bring a whole new level of interest in it.
"I honestly think if you watch it, you'll be surprised.

Karen Gillan in a rom-com! Do you need to know any more? Here's Andrew's review of Not Another Happy Ending...
To cut a long story short: Amy Pond meets Haunted Jack Whitehall while Paul from The Fades does quips. Oh, and Haunted Jack Whitehall is French.
Karen Gillan's first role to be released post-Pond is a pleasant, occasionally laugh-out-loud Scottish rom-com. It doesn't take itself too seriously, pokes fun at genre clichés while also revelling in them, and employs popcorn logic cheerfully. It isn't the most funny or romantic film ever made, and occasionally its screwball sensibilities are beyond the reach of its cast's comic timing, but neither is it a charmless shrew-fest like so many of its kind.
Gillan plays Jane Lockhart, aspiring author, who finds her manuscript accepted by garrulous Frenchman Tom Duval (Stanley Weber, looking like he makes love exclusively...

Jamie Payne is to direct the 2013 Doctor Who Christmas Special. This is very good news...
He has just one Doctor Who instalment under his belt - series seven's creepy, fun Hide - but director Jamie Payne has helmed episodes of any number of quality UK dramas. From geek fare Primeval, Ashes to Ashes, and Outcasts, to more recent period shows The Hour, Da Vinci's Demons and The White Queen, Payne is well-versed in making good-looking telly.
Good news then, that he's behind the camera for this year's Doctor Who Christmas Special, written by showrunner Steven Moffat.
Unless the BBC has a surprise up its sleeve, Payne will have a regeneration to stage during the one-hour festive episode, announced to be Matt Smith's final outing as the Doctor.
Filming on the as-yet untitled Christmas Special begins this August.

I’ve confirmed that Harry Potter actress Clémence Poésy and Game Of Thrones‘ Stephen Dillane have bagged the leads in what’s billed as the first-ever bilingual broadcast series for the UK and France. The drama will be set primarily in Folkestone and Calais where detectives Karl Roebuck (Dillane) and Elise Wassermann (Poésy) are called to investigate the death of a French politician. Scandinavian format The Bridge is getting another adaptation, only this time it’s called The Tunnel. In what’s being billed as the first-ever bilingual broadcast series for the UK and France, Sky Atlantic HD and Canal Plus are co-producing the 10-part drama from Kudos Film and TV and Shine France Films in association with Filmlance. For The Tunnel, Ben Richards (Spooks, Outcasts, Party Animals) will lead an Anglo-French writing team to shift the story to the area where the UK meets France. Chicago – BBC America’s “Inside Men” isn’t exactly breaking new ground. We’ve seen stories of heists gone wrong before. However, there’s a thematic foundation here — the international recession — that makes the tale of three men who rob the counting house for which they work that much more topical.
Television Rating: 4.5/5.0
So many people around the world are desperate for that economic windfall that it adds a depth to a story like “Inside Men” that wouldn’t have been there ten years ago. With a stellar ensemble driven by a fantastic lead performance from Steven Mackintosh, “Inside Men” is great TV.
To be fair, it starts as “good” TV. The first episode, airing tonight, June 20, 2012, is so heavy on character introductions and set-up that one might not appreciate what this show has to offer as it expands beyond its starting point. In particular, the second episode is near-genius...

Fans of British TV will be tuning in to BBC America’s Dramaville on 20 June for the launch of the hit drama Inside Men. Viewers will recognize one of the leading men as Outcasts star Ashley Walters. The actor is one of Britain’s fastest rising talents but on the other side of the pond Walters is as well known for his music as his acting. I was recently able to catch up with Ashley and took the opportunity to talk to the multi-talented performer about the new show and his extensive body of work.
