Based on the real life case of 21-year-old Maud Maréchal, whose burnt corpse was found on the night of 13 May 2013 in Lagny-sur-Marne, in the Paris suburbs. The victim was renamed Clara Royer, the date of the crime moved to 12 October 2016 and the setting to the suburbs of Grenoble, in the south-east of France.
