The line-up of the 70th Cannes Film Festival has been announced.Scroll down for the full line-up

The films chosen for the Cannes Official Selection were announced on April 13.

Festival President Pierre Lescure and General Delegate Thierry Frémaux revealed the line-up at a press conference, which was live-streamed on YouTube. More films will be added closer to the festival.

The 70th Cannes Film Festival is scheduled to run from May 17-28. The line-up is below:

The creature feature genre is often the most neglected of all the horror subgenres. It takes a back seat to more bankable premises such as slasher and paranormal horror. A new good creature feature is about as hard to find as the creature in the movie itself. Back in the day (way, way, back) in the 1950’s, the creature feature held the lion’s share of what any horror fan would want to see. In my humble opinion, it’s the biggest gamble for anybody that has plans to make a horror film now. Out of the gate, it has two strikes against it.

I have never been shot in the leg. But, if I was, here are some of the things I would be unlikely to do immediately afterwards: sprint like Usain Bolt, fall 10ft into a hole and land on my feet, and go toe-to-toe with a man in a giant crocodile costume.That last bit is meant to be the scary monster of the film, of course, but it’s every bit as unconvincing as the actions of our shot protagonist. There’s something to be said for the old-school charm of a costume in a horror film vs. using CGI, but you have to use it wisely. The classics knew how to compensate for their budget short-comings; chiefly it involves keeping the damn monster out of sight until the very last moment, and the zip out of sight altogether. This lesson isn’t heeded here.

Hey there, Fiends! Oh man! Tons to mention this time around! First of all, I just returned from the killer Motor City Nightmares convention, and what can I say? It was not only a kick-ass time, but it also made some nightmares come true.

First of all, I met one of my absolute favorite people in cinema, P.J. Soles, and I was a little taken aback by her presence, to be quite honest. It was truly surreal. While there I also set up show dates with class acts such as Bill Moseley, Ken Foree, Tony Todd, and Matt Farnsworth and Diane Foster - the creators of the brutal indie masterpiece called The Orphan Killer! Having finally watched the film all the way through, all I can say is holy shit! If you have Not seen the Orphan Killer, please do yourselves a huge favor - seek it out!

I’m surprised director Fred Andrews’ low-budget horror flick “Creature” managed to get theatrical distribution. Wide distribution, at that. This isn’t the sort of motion picture you’d ever want to pay premium price to see on the big screen. No, it’s something you’d watch late at night on Netflix streaming during a particularly sinister bought of insomnia. In fact, I feel quite sorry for the unfortunate individuals who forked portions of their entertainment budget to see this in the cinema, as it should have been sent direct to SyFy, followed by an unrated DVD and/or Blu-ray release so everyone can have some boobies. Creature.  You remember that movie, right?  The 2011 fall release that received a fairly wide theatrical released and bombed on all levels...  Yeah, now it's all coming back to you.  Sorry for the reminder.

Arc Entertainment is bringing this monster movie to DVD on March 20 and, inside, you'll find hi-res cover art which strikingly calls to mind the art for Feast.  Oh, Creature, you really don't have anything to offer us. Not even out on DVD yet and you're already pissing us off.

Directed by Fred M. Andrews, the film concerns an ex-Navy seal, his girlfriend and their friends head out on a road trip to New Orleans.  There, they encounter a local legend, Lockjaw, a man-in-suit monster.  Yikes!

Creature will be making its way to DVD this March and we have the official cover art. The film made headlines last year for having one of the worst theatrical openings of all time, earning $331,000 on its first weekend across 1,507 theaters across the Us.

If you didn’t get a chance to see it in theaters, you can watch it for yourself on DVD on March 20th. There is no word on a Blu-ray release at this time, but we’ll post an update if we hear anything. Creature was directed by Fred Andrews and stars Mehcad Brooks, Serinda Swan, Aaron Hill, and Sid Haig.

Life has a funny way of turning things around. For the last few days I've been getting chastised for thinking that The Devil Inside was a decent little flick. Everywhere I turn I've been getting browbeaten. That's okay though. I have no problem taking my lumps and I stand by my words no matter what. Still, it's been kind of taxing, but then ... then I see a DVD cover that just brings a smile back to my face.

As reported earlier by my esteemed colleague The Foywonder, the insipid shitfest known as Creature, a film which is completely devoid of any redeeming qualities whatsoever and is widely consider as one of the most ill-conceived and costly mistakes in film distribution history, is hitting DVD on March 20th courtesy of Arc Entertainment. Estimated for release on home video March 20 is the worst movie of the year, Creature, which will hit stores featuring cover art completing ripping off Feast. I'd be embarrassed as hell to have a quote on this cover box... The film that tanked in its theatrical run last September "revolves around a group of family and friends who, en route to New Orleans, are sidetracked in the Louisiana bayou and encounter a monster named Lockjaw who is revered by the locals as a god. 2011 brought a lot of great horror films. From Stake Land to A Lonely Place to Die, there were a lot of films to watch and enjoy. 2011 also served up a lot of misery as well. Here at 28Dla, this reviewer has learned to dodge a few bullets in the movie world. Admittedly, this reviewer skipped Fred Andrews' Creature in theatres and the latest forced production of the Hellraiser series, titled Hellraiser: Revelations was also missed thanks to some early reviews. However a few films slipped under the radar or were shipped to the 28Dla HQ with little warning or previous info'. These are some of those films.

The plan to release Creature (review here) on 1,500 movie screens will go down as one of the most ill-conceived and costly mistakes in film distribution history. Grossing a miserable $331,000 on its opening weekend and earning the dubious distinction of being the worst 1,500-screen or more movie release in history, the producers had better hope the March DVD release is met with greater fanfare. Or should I say any fanfare?

Nobody knows anything. That's what William Goldman decided after spending a lifetime in the movie business. Nobody knows anything, and that's as true now as it's ever been. The fate of poor, unloved Creature proves his point perfectly.

Given a second chance, the makers of Creature probably wouldn't have opened on what's traditionally one of the quietest weekends of the year. Nor would they have picked the 10th anniversary of 9/11. And they almost definitely wouldn't have opened the film on 1,500 screens after mounting a barely existent marketing campaign. Dream House is fucking terrible.

That may be one of the more damning lines I've ever used to open a review. But it's true, and I don't really see any reason to hold back. This is a hopelessly lost film that's just as brain damaged as its main protagonist. It's completely nonsensical garbage that was mangled by horrible decisions by Morgan Creek Productions, a company so vapidly senile that they thought it a good idea to seize the film from director Jim Sheridan, hacked it to stupidity, and release a product so groan inducing, so pitifully awful, that Jim Sheridan, as well as main talent Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz, all jumped ship and refused to do press for the film.

After one of the poorest box office showing ever, Creature director Fred Andrews threw down a verbal attack on anyone who disliked his film, calling them “bottom feeders.” I have not seen the flick, so I can’t comment on its quality. Here I was planning to do a story posting this past Friday night’s “Nightline” segment about Creature’s box office apocalypse when I find out the film’s director did an interview lashing out at every online critic that didn’t like his movie in a way not seen since Uwe Boll’s famous online tirade following the release of House of the Dead.

Just last week Fred Andrews saw his indie Creature self-distributed by Sid and Jon Sheinberg's Bubble Factory. Sid was the president of Universal Studios during the release of classics such as Jaws, Et and Jurassic Park, so it's a shock knowing his new company had faith in this incomplete creature feature. The film grossed only $331,000 opening up in 1,507 U.S. theaters this weekend, making it the worst premiere ever for a film opening in 1,500 locations or more, according to BoxOfficeMojo and Yahoo. The film flopped. It currently has a 13% on Rotten Tomatoes and was panned by most critics. And while we respect the opinion of those who enjoyed the flick, director Fred Andrews has none for those who hated it. In fact, he sort of implies that the film was made for morons. How so? Last Friday, a movie was released to over 1500 theaters in the United States. There was no real marketing campaign, aside from a few ads placed in the wee hours on the SyFy Channel. There was no all-consuming star. There was no massive budget. Unsurprisingly, the movie, Creature, had one of the weakest debuts of all time, to the tune of $327,000 (or $217 per screen). That's the second-worst per theater average of all time, second to only the movie Proud Americans, which I have never heard of.

According to opening weekend takings, the indie horror film that tells the story of a swamp creature on the loose in the backwoods of Louisiana, attracted merely 35,000 people - meaning that each screening had an average of just six people, the Daily Mail reported.

The film, which has been directed by Fred Andrews, a veteran production.
