After years of in-fighting and near-agreements, Pink Floyd have finally reached a deal to sell the rights to their recorded music catalog to Sony Music, according to the Financial Times.
The deal is reported to be worth around $400 million and also includes the rights to the band’s name and likenesses. That means, along with gaining full control over Pink Floyd’s music, Sony will have the crucial rights for most things Pink Floyd-related, from merch to movies.

Pink Floyd are in “advanced talks” with Sony Music to sell their back catalog for about $500 million, the Financial Times reports.
According to the Financial Times, the sale would include hits from the past 50 years like “Money,” “Wish You Were Here,” and “Another Brick in the Wall.” However, the report cautions that “there is no guarantee of an agreement this time given the past problems.”

The update comes after David Gilmour recently told Rolling Stone it would be a “dream” to sell Pink Floyd’s catalog and get out of the “mud bath” — likely referencing his contentious relationship with former bandmate Roger Waters. In just one relatively recent example of their decades-long tension, Gilmour described Waters as a “misogynistic, antisemitic, Putin apologist” in 2023.
Pink Floyd began exploring a catalog sale in 2022, but those discussions fell apart due to band in-fighting and Waters’ incendiary comments about Ukraine and Israel.

Fresh off the release of his new album Luck and Strange, David Gilmour stopped by a local pub in Brighton and Hove, UK for an open mic on Monday night and gave his first live performance since 2020.
Taking place at The Neptune Inn, the Pink Floyd guitarist and singer joined his daughter Romany Gilmour, who also contributed vocals to Luck and Strange. Romany invited her father up for a song, and David asked if they should do “Wish You Were Here” — they then performed the Pink Floyd classic together on acoustic guitars, singing in harmony as the pub’s attendees sang along.

As a kid, Niko Rubio remembers spending countless days pretending she was a mermaid, relaxing on the sandy beaches of her native L.A. as music by Gwen Stefani, Julieta Venegas, and Nelly Furtado floated in the background. Sometimes, the sounds of the Limón y Sal accordion would be interrupted by the trumpets of the rancheras of Vicente Fernandez when her grandpa would pull up in his Dodge Ram pickup truck to take a slightly sunburnt Rubio home from the shore.

Callie and Arizona's relationship on Grey's Anatomy was full of ups and downs, spanning ten seasons of dating, breaking up, getting married, and even having a child together. Their story had a happy ending, with Callie and Arizona finally reconciling and getting married in season 7. After a custody battle over their daughter, Sofia, Callie eventually moved to New York, and in the season 14 finale, Arizona decided to join her to rekindle their relationship, giving their story a hopeful conclusion.
Grey's Anatomy has had many epic romances throughout its long run, including the up-and-down relationship between Callie Torres and Arizona Robbins, played by Sara Ramirez and Jessica Capshaw. Copenhagen, Denmark – Markus Artved, the talented indie musician and producer from Copenhagen, has released his latest single, “Hey Dreams,” under his project, Honey Hideout. This new track comes as a prelude to Honey Hideout’s debut EP, slated for release later this year.
A Journey Through Dreams and Realities
“Hey Dreams” explores the profound and often poignant realization that life doesn’t always turn out as we’ve planned. In moments when time feels fleeting, there is beauty in surrendering to the present and embracing life’s unpredictable twists and turns. Markus Artved invites listeners into this introspective space with his newest musical offering.
“Dreams are fleeting and often impossible to recite or remember to their full extent when we wake up. On the contrary, the dreams that each of us have for the future are both infinite and everlasting, but they also change as we develop and grow. When a dream eventually comes true,...

As new music launches go, the arrival of Lil Nas X’s “J Christ” single and video earlier this month was hardly blessed. The artwork that adorned the single — Lil Nas X strapped to a cross and being hoisted up by five people, an apocalyptic sky behind them — led to a predictable uproar from the religious front. So much so, in fact, that Lil Nas X posted a video on his socials explaining the imagery (“It was literally me saying I’m back like Jesus”) and apologizing for offending anyone with the song’s accompanying,...

A group of 200 internationally renowned writers, publishers, directors and producers have signed an open letter sounding the alarm over the implications of AI for human creativity.
“Several generative models of language and images have recently appeared in the public and private domains; they are developing at breakneck speed, accessible to all for any task which involves writing and creating,” read the letter, published online on Tuesday.
“These models are shaping a world where, little by little, creation can do without human beings, thereby hastening the automation of many creative and intellectual professions formerly deemed inaccessible to mechanization.”
The letter, initiated by European translation professionals under the banner of “Collective For Human Translation – In Flesh And Blood”, comes amid growing concern about the impact of generative AI technology on professionals working in the creative industries.

Pink Floyd is best known as the band whose Dark Side of the Moon broke all records as the longest charting album in rock music history. Dozens of their songs are classic rock staples, the feature length film of their rock opera The Wall is a cult classic, and their sound is as instantly recognizable as their enigmatic back story. Have You Got It Yet? The Story of Syd Barrett and Pink Floyd is co-directed by Roddy Bogawa, the filmmaker behind Taken by Storm: The Art of Storm Thorgerson and Hipgnosis, and Storm Thorgerson, a Pink Floyd intimate who started the graphic arts team which illustrated the band’s most iconic album covers. But the band’s founder and guiding light, Syd Barrett, dimmed in the glare of the spotlight, leaving the group after their second album, long before they achieved the stratospheric success their later work would bring. Photographer and film-maker Anton Corbijn is the very best person to direct this very enjoyable documentary about design outfit Hipgnosis and its dynamic co-founders Aubrey “Po” Powell and Storm Thorgerson, the creative powerhouse who virtually invented the concept of the album cover as a vital artform; they worked for Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Paul McCartney and Wings, 10cc and others, when the vinyl rock industry was in its 70s pomp. Barbie and Oppenheimer make a truce in a new piece of fan art as their box office battle approaches. Since it was announced that Greta Gerwig's Barbie and Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer would release on the same day, the two films have entered into something of a rivalry. The two big blockbusters couldn't be more different, of course, with the former serving as an adaptation of the beloved Mattel doll and the latter chronicling the life of the famed American theoretical physicist who is largely responsible for the creation of the atomic bomb.
Now, ahead of the Barbie and Oppenheimer release date, fan art shared by Rafael Caban on Instagram imagines Margot Robbie's doll and Cillian Murphy's theoretical physicist making a truce as the box office showdown between their two films looms. Check out the fan art below:

In the history of album cover art, only two parties have become arguably almost as famous as some of the bands they shot or designed for: Hipgnosis, in the 1970s, and Anton Corbijn, from the mid-‘80s forward. Those two forces come together with a new documentary, “Squaring the Circle (The Story of Hipgnosis),” directed by Corbijn, about the era of artwork that entranced him, like most music fans, as a youth. Forty years after Hipgnosis ceased to be a going concern as we knew it, the company’s covers for Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin and countless others continue to be collected in coffee-table books. And when it comes to the stories behind the sleeves, rock fans still just can’t get enough… to quote a band that Corbijn came to be associated with a little bit later.

The Boys season 3 cast and character guide helps show how special the series is. More than a year and a half after the season 2 finale, The Boys returned to Prime Video for season 3, with season 4 now on the way. Well, all good things must come to an end, so, unfortunately, here we have the last episodes of the second season of this sentimental series, which mixes friendship, life and… what is left when it is over.
Firefly Lane (2022)
Perhaps too much telefilm, perhaps too sentimental, but, undoubtedly, Firefly Lane has managed to win a place among the sappiest and straight-to-the-heart film lovers.
As a critic once said, despite everything, we will miss them.

Kourtney Kardashian Barker has become accustomed to the majority of her life being captured by the cameras, but when she and Travis Barker originally began considering their 2022 nuptials, they had no plans to record any part of it. The couple embarked on three weddings: a drunken post-Grammys romp in Las Vegas as well as small, family-focused parties in Santa Barbara and Portofino, Italy. To their surprise, their friends and families captured a lot of it on their phones, creating intimate footage of the pair’s love and joy that they...

Invisible City (Cidade Invisível) is a series directed by Júlia Pacheco Jordão and Luis Carone. It stars Marco Pigossi, Alessandra Negrini and Jéssica Córes.
The Invisible City is a very original fantasy and thriller series that knows how to swim wonderfully between the waters of the spiritual and criminal worlds, between the supernatural and the detective genre, and it also has an original aesthetic proposal.
About the Series
A murder thriller that gets lost in local legends, in the world of spirits and magic, and then presents us with a message of environmental conservation.
Very entertaining, well handled and accomplished visual effects (CGI), achieving an attractive series on several levels and one that knows how to continue the successes of the first season in these five new episodes.
It handles the photography very well, and – without losing the fantastic “touch” – knows how to give us a good, entertaining thriller so...

What a moment to be a Miley Cyrus fan. “Flowers” is more than just a surprise comeback hit — it’s the triumph of Mileyism. It’s been 10 years since her last Number One hit, “Wrecking Ball,” at the height of her tabloid-scandal, electro-sleaze Bangerz era. But now she has finally transformed into the kind of old-school grown-up legend she’s always wanted to be. “Flowers,” the lead single from Friday’s Saturn-return post-divorce album Endless Summer Vacation, marks the culmination of her unlikely journey from Hannah Montana to world-wise adulthood.

When it comes to coffee-table books that survey the great album covers of the classic rock era, there are generally two kinds: those that include a lot of the work of the 1970s design team called Hipgnosis, and those that consist entirely of Hipgnosis’ work. Virtually any rock superstar who had the cachet to ask his record company to blow hundreds of thousands of dollars on a Hipgnosis cover went for the splurge of commissioning an original piece of art that might join classic LP jackets from Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin in a renaissance of 12’x12′ photographic surrealism. Only Hipgnosis could shoot a photo of a cow against a blue sky, put it on a Floyd cover (“Atom Heart Mother”), and make it look like an act of mysterious profundity on a level with the greatest works of Magritte.

Think of the most iconic rock album covers of all time from the 1970s: Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of The Moon and Wish You Were Here, Led Zeppelin’s Houses Of The Holy and Presence, T. Rex’s Electric Warrior, Paul McCartney & Wings’ Band On The Run, AC/DC’s Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, all of Peter Gabriel’s early albums, etc.

Lately, there’s been a curious strain of kneejerk revulsion expressed toward musical biopics such as “Elvis” for repeating tropes identified in “Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story,” as if all popular genres don’t have repeated tropes. What’s funny is that there’s never really been the same reaction toward music documentaries in the 40 years since “This Is Spinal Tap.” Especially since that’s a much better movie. But why should there be? Just like pop and rock music depend on repetition (and the anticipation of repetition) for satisfaction and emotional release, music films, narrative or documentary, return to the same hallmarks over and over again.
“Squaring the Circle,” Anton Corbijn’s feature documentary debut, falls into this tradition too. This slightly overlong look at Hipgnosis, the London-based graphic design startup that designed some of the most striking, and important, album covers from 1968 to 1980, retreads all the old...

“American Idol” top four finalist Casey Bishop made a bold move Sunday night, sitting down with mentor Finneas to take on Billie Eilish’s “Wish You Were Gay.” She rocked the song’s co-writer/producer, and the judges, too — yet, despite all that love, apparently not everyone wished she would stay.
“So, you’re singing my sister’s song,” Finneas said to the 16-year-old Estero, Florida native about the track. “The greatest honor as a songwriter is hearing the song covered, and Casey has got an incredible instrument,” he continued, advising the teen to sing the song as if “these are lyrics you just thought up before you started singing.”
Dressed in white, Bishop delivered an emotional version of the song that had the judges lavishing praise on the performance.
“You just crushed every aspect of that whole thing,” Luke Bryan gushed. “In my opinion it was your best; it...

“I don’t have any performing experience, really,” said “American Idol” semifinalist Casey Bishop at her audition in Ojai. “Most of the people that know that I love to sing are my friends. That’s pretty much it.” The 16-year old high school student (who was 15 when she auditioned) from Estero, Florida earned her spot on the ABC reality TV competition by singing “Live Wire” and “My Funny Valentine” for judges Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan. On Sunday, May 16 Bishop will compete against Chayce Beckham, Grace Kinstler and Willie Spence for a spot in the Season 19 finale.
Each artist will sing three songs on this upcoming episode including a brand new single produced just for them. Bishop’s original track is “Love Me, Leave Me” produced by the teenager herself along with Grammy winner Ian Fitchuk. The youngster will also sing the Billie Eilish hit “wish you were...

Antony Starr has certainly proven that he can do creepy with his portrayal as the murderous superhero Homelander on the Amazon Prime Video series The Boys, so it's no surprise that Lionsgate has tapped the actor to star in their upcoming thriller Cobweb. After a phenomenal season 1, The Boys are ready to rock in season 2 with new episodes being dropped every Friday on Amazon Prime Video. With a third season already on the cards, it appears as though the show's incredible cast is going to be around for a very long time.

Okine joined in March, just as the pandemic struck. After a pause when, she says, Aquarius’ focus on growth switched to survival mode, the development pace picked up.

When Joshua Ray Walker was a kid in Dallas, Texas, his mom took a job doing marketing at motorsports events. Every weekend, he’d tag along with her to monster truck competitions, motorcycle rallies, car and boat shows — anything that had a loud engine really. “Basically any redneck sport you can think of,” he says.
Walker liked being around the cars and trucks, but he was most fascinated by the rough-around-the-edges women who were recruited — often by his mother — to promote a certain product. Which is to say they were paid to wear a bikini,...
