If you had finally managed to get “I’m Just Ken” out of your head, well, sorry about that. “Saturday Night Live” returned with its own version of the “Barbie” earworm this week, but this time, for Pete Davidson instead of Ken.

This time, instead of the song stemming from Ken’s rejection by Barbie, it kicked off when Davidson overheard his former coworkers making fun of his return as host so soon after he left the cast.

And yes, Davidson went all in on the bit, fully recreating the scene from the movie — from Ken’s bleached blonde hair, right down to the battle on Malibu beach. Granted, the lyrics weren’t the same.

Pete Davidson and Jason Orley are reuniting for “I Slept with Joey Ramone,” Netflix’s upcoming biopic about the life of the frontman for iconic punk band The Ramones. Netflix announced on Thursday that Orley, who made his directorial debut with 2019’s Davidson-led “Big Time Adolescence,” will direct the upcoming film. The duo serve as writers on the project, which is based on the Mickey Leigh memoir of the same name. The film is a collaboration between Netflix and STXfilms, both of which will develop and produce the biopic.

Pete Davidson is set to star as Joey Ramone in an upcoming Netflix biopic about the late Ramones legend, I Slept With Joey Ramone. The announcement comes on the 20th anniversary of Ramone’s April 15th, 2001 death.

Sony Pictures Entertainment is to adopt a regional model for its international film marketing and distribution teams as part of a corporate restructure that will also see theatrical, home entertainment and television distribution marketing teams merge in the US.

As part of the restructure, announced on Tuesday (October 27) by Sony’s motion picture group president Josh Greenstein and networks and distribution president Keith Le Goy (pictured), co-president of global marketing Andre Caraco has chosen to depart after more than 30 years at the studio.

The November 2020 lineup for The Criterion Channel has been unveiled, toplined by a Claire Denis retrospective, including the brand-new restoration of Beau travail, along with Chocolat, No Fear, No Die, Nenette and Boni, Towards Mathilde, 35 Shots of Rum, and White Material.

There will also be a series celebrating 30 years of The Film Foundation, featuring a new interview with Martin Scorsese by Ari Aster, as well as a number of their most essential restorations, including films by Jia Zhangke, Ritwik Ghatak, Luchino Visconti, Shirley Clarke, Med Hondo, and more.

There’s also David Lynch’s new restoration of The Elephant Man, retrospectives dedicated to Ngozi Onwurah, Nadav Lapid, and Terence Nance, a new edition of the series Queersighted titled Queer Fear, featuring a new conversation between series programmer Michael Koresky and filmmaker and critic Farihah Zaman, and much more.

Exclusive: Disney continues to make strides in diversifying its classic characters and is doing it again as sources tell Deadline that Grown-ish star Yara Shahidi is set to play Tinker Bell in David Lowery’s Peter Pan and Wendy. This would mark the first time a person of color has filled the role that traditionally has featured a white actress and follows in the footsteps after Disney set Halle Bailey to play Ariel in The Little Mermaid.

Shahidi joins Jude Law, who will play Captain Hook, as well as Alexander Molony and Ever Anderson, who will play the title characters. Lowery is on board to direct the project and also co-wrote the script with Toby Halbrooks. Jim Whitaker is producing.

Sources say the release is expected to be theatrical and not go the Disney+ streaming route.
