Review: 'My Last Day Without You' Is a Refreshing Spin on Love, Attraction & Chance (New on DVD Today)
Director Stefan Schaefer's "My Last Day Without You," the multi-award winning independent film starring Nicole Beharie and Ken Duken, is now out on DVD (as of today, November 18th), and will be available on Video On Demand next month. The film's synopsis reads as follows: "On a one-day business trip to New York, a German business executive falls in love with a singer-songwriter who exposes him to her Brooklyn world and emotions he's never experienced before." This is a movie that would’ve surely passed me by had I not been an admirer of Nicole Beharie’s acting; but the film is full of delightful surprises. What you might think will be yet another...

Hollywood's Up-and-Coming Black Actors
February is Black History Month, and right now two African-American actors are Oscars front-runners (we're talking about you, Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer). Plus, the talented and beautiful Adepero Oduye and Paula Patton were included in Vanity Fair's annual Young Hollywood issue -- which is usually all white.

In keeping with the props bestowed upon Hollywood's black performers this month, we present 13 black actors (and a bonus couple of pop stars transitioning to film) whose names you should memorize now, because we're predicting big things, juicy roles and long careers for all of them.

Nicole Beharie

Who She Is: The half-Nigerian, half-Jamaican beauty had a pivotal supporting role as the only woman Michael Fassbender actually wants to woo (and not just have sex with) in Steve McQueen's acclaimed drama "Shame." A graduate of Juilliard's prestigious drama program (where she received a scholarship named for fellow alum Robin Williams), the...

Watch Nicole Beharie In The Trailer For Indie Romance “My Last Day Without You”
Here’s a Nicole Beharie project we profiled last November, titled My Last Day Without You, which at the time was in post-production, and currently still is.

As a refresher, directed by Stefan Schaefer, the story goes, in short, on a one-day business trip to New York, a German business executive (Ken Duken) falls in love with a singer-songwriter and daughter of a pastor, who exposes him to her Brooklyn world, eliciting emotions he’s never experienced before, turning their worlds upside down.

No release dates available yet, though I suspect it’ll make its debut on the film festival circuit some time this year.

A trailer surfaced last night, which I embedded below:...

A Look At Nicole Beharie In Brooklyn Love Story “My Last Day Without You”
Here’s another Nicole Beharie project that’s currently in post-production, titled My Last Day Without You.

The story goes, in short, on a one-day business trip to New York, a German business executive falls in love with a singer-songwriter who exposes him to her Brooklyn world and emotions he’s never experienced before.

As already stated, the film is in post-production at the moment, and its Facebook page says that a trailer is imminent, so I’ll be watching for it, and will post here when it’s up.

For now, below are a handful of on-set photos, mostly of Nicole Beharie, her co-star Ken Duken.
