This film was previously in development at 20th Century Fox in 1986 with Diane Keaton as Mickey Dawson but the project was shelved after being deemed too similar to Y a-t-il quelqu'un pour tuer ma femme ? (1986).

Goofs
The movie opens as Detroit 1978 although the newspaper front pages throughout the movie are from February 1977. The vehicle license plates appeared to be 1979 and not the Bicentennial license plates that were valid from 1976 through 1978.

Way more enjoyable than its average rating suggests!

I enjoyed this film a lot. It's not ground breaking or stylish or full of violence. It's nice and easy with funny characters and some laugh out loud moments. A we'll put together, charming film.
