Kevin Spacey's First Film Since Trial Sets Release Date

The first film featuring Kevin Spacey since his acquittal from sexual assault charges landed an official release date as his Control movie nears its theatrical premiere.

Per Collider, Control, which stars Spacey in a key voice role, will be released across cinemas in the U.S. and U.K. on Dec. 15. The upcoming movie is directed and written by British filmmaker Gene Fallaize, whose credits include Superman: Requiem and Cain Hill. Distributed by Cupsogue Pictures, Control released its first official trailer on Aug. 1.

Days after a London jury acquitted him of sexual assault, Kevin Spacey is back in the public eye — or at least the public ear — in the trailer for a new movie, Control. He portrays “The Voice” in the clip, speaking to Great Britain’s home secretary (Bridgerton’s Lauren Metcalfe) as he remotely takes control of her car and terrorizes her for some supposed misdeeds she’s committed politically. The car, which also contains the prime minister’s daughter, hits a pedestrian and hurdles toward oncoming traffic.
