While shooting a scene in 2008, Director of Production/Actor Andrew Yorke suffered a broken ankle while driving a go-cart. In order to complete filming, Yorke wore an ankle brace in between takes.
Production was split into three phases which spanned nearly three years. Yorke and Michael intentionally planned it this way to assist in making the environment more realistic for the actors.
The first private screening of "Videotape" was held at Austin College, where the majority of the story took place.
The scenes with Kevin Michael and Daniel Thomas Phipps were shot in one evening with no conventional script in place. Yorke talked to both actors individually prior to shooting, helping achieve the tension between the two characters.
Over half of the story was photographed at Austin College, a liberal arts institution located in Sherman, TX.
