It’s time to go “Beyond.” On Thursday, Disney released the end credits version of what’s set to be the breakout song from “Moana 2.” You can listen on Amazon Music, Apple Music and Spotify.

“Beyond” is an epic ballad performed by Auli’i Cravalho, the voice of Moana, featuring Oceanic music group Te Vaka, which is led by “Moana 2” composer Opetaia Foaʻi. The song is described as the movie’s “I wish” song, a Disney musical tradition where the heroine states her goal for the story. It’s written by Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear (Barlow & Bear), who took over songwriting duties on “Moana 2” from Lin-Manuel Miranda.

When musical legend Pharrell Williams first met with Morgan Neville about using Lego to make “Piece by Piece,” a documentary about his life, the Oscar-winning director of “20 Feet from Stardom” was intrigued but perplexed.

“His pitch to me was: I really like your documentaries, and I had the idea that you would make a documentary about me, and then when you were done, you would throw out the visuals and make it again in Lego,” Neville told IndieWire. “And when he said that, I got really interested. But it just sounded like a crazy idea, and I had to think about what that would mean.”

Ultimately, it meant opening up the possibilities of what a doc and animated feature could do as a new form of cinematic expression. The refreshing result and positive buzz out of Telluride and TIFF has Oscar talk of “Piece by Piece” competing in both categories.

When you think about it, the combination of the world of LEGOs and a music biopic makes a lot of sense. They both share a relationship where imagination is at the core, and some stacking of colorful blocks and soundscapes is involved in making something into a distinguishable picture. Sometimes, you make a replica of the cover on the box; other times (like frequently in my case), you create something entirely different.

In that respect, you can see why Pharell Williams and director Morgan Neville opted for a Lego-style interview retrospective about the singer/producer/fashion designer extraordinaire in Piece by Piece. Its a colorful and imaginative format not bound by conventional storytelling, which is why it's a shame that Piece by Piece ultimately becomes a very traditional, 'follow your dreams' type movie, and never really dives deeply into who Pharrell is, what he believes, and why you should care.

20th Century Studios has unveiled the first footage of its remake of “White Men Can’t Jump,” starring Sinqua Walls and Jack Harlow.

Set to Skee-Lo’s “I Wish,” the 30-second clip features footage of the two playing basketball and arguing the merits of the finest cinematic artists of our time.

“I’m like the P. T. Anderson of basketball psychological warfare,” Harlow’s character, named Jeremy, says in the trailer, referring to Anderson as “our greatest living director.”

“Spike Lee is our greatest living director,” Walls’ Kamal responds.

Released in 1992, the original “White Men Can’t Jump” starred Wesley Snipes and Woody Harrelson as a pair of street basketball hustlers who team up for a big match-up. Written and directed by Ron Shelton, the sports comedy was a box office success upon release and has garnered a reputation as one of the more beloved studio films of the ’90s.

Ahead of its debut on Hulu, 20th Century Studios has shared the first official look at the upcoming “White Men Can’t Jump” remake. Starring Jack Harlow and Sinqua Walls in similar roles first originated by Woody Harrelson and Wesley Snipes, the new film comes 31 years after the original became a box office hit and longtime favourite.

In the teaser set to Skee-Lo’s “I Wish”, Harlow, who plays Jeremy, and Walls, who stars as Jamal, are seen struggling to come together as a two-man streetball team. “I knew this was a mistake,” Kamal quips after the two debate whether P.T. Anderson or Spike Lee is a better director.

Set for a May 19 release on the streaming platform, the remake is co-written by Kenya Barris and directed by Calmatic, with Lance Reddick, Teyana Taylor, Laura Harrier, Tamera ‘Tee’ Kissen as well as Myles Bullock and rapper Vince Staples rounding out the cast.

Japan’s Gaga Corporation has teamed with Paris-based Wild Bunch International to handle sales of Monster, the upcoming film by Japanese auteur Hirokazu Kore-eda.

Wbi will handle worldwide sales excluding Asia, which will be handled by Gaga.

A promo will be shown to buyers at the upcoming European Film Market (EFM), which runs February 16-22 alongside the Berlinale. Gaga and Wbi began collaborating on Kore-eda’s titles in 2011 with I Wish, which played Toronto and San Sebastian film festivals.

Japan’s Gaga Corporation and Wild Bunch International will collaborate again for international sales of “Monster,” the upcoming film directed by Japanese auteur Kore-eda Hirokazu.

Gaga will handle Asian territories. Wild Bunch will handle worldwide excluding Asia. A promo reel for buyers will be available at the upcoming European Film Market that operates alongside the Berlin Film Festival.

The two companies previously collaborated on Kore-eda’s 2011 title “I Wish,” which played at the Toronto and San Sebastian film festivals.

“Monster” seems more likely to debut at Cannes. Its theatrical release in Japan, through Toho and Gaga, is scheduled for June 2, shortly after the festival.

The top performer of the night was St. Luna, who was saved by the judges after securing her spot atop the safety diamond. Which alter ego will impress the judges most tonight? The remaining five artists — Dana Monique, Pia Renee, Corey Ward, Young and Gihanna Zoe — faced off in a sudden death sing-off. The winner was Jordan, who is coached by Blake.

Now that she’s been revealed as “The Masked Singer” Season 4 champion, LeAnn Rimes is hoping that people will see her in a new way.

“I’m excited to for people to continue connecting with me in this way,” said Rimes, who had been disguised as the Sun. “I think it’s giving people a new view on what they feel from the music and that’s really powerful.”

Rimes’ “The Masked Singer” unmasking coincided with the release of her new song, “Throw My Arms Around the World.” She also recently unveiled a new meditative chant album, “Chant: The Human & The Holy,” and is finishing up a new album of music with a target May release date. Additionally, she hosts the podcast “Wholly Human” for iHeart Media.

“Music is truly the language that connects us all,” explained singer-songwriter Aloe Blacc, aka Mushroom, during his unmasked interview with host Nick Cannon during Wednesday night’s finale of “The Masked Singer.” “I got a chance to experience that and do just that, here on this stage.” The Grammy-nominated performer was the Season 4 runner-up, losing to the Sun after edging out the Crocodile earlier in the episode. “My daughter was definitely inspiration,” Aloe revealed when describing how he transformed into Mushroom. “It’s not a skirt! This is a mushroom stem. But, because it had a little bit of a skirt feel, I thought okay, my seven-year old daughter, Mandela. I could embody her spirit while I’m doing this.”

Aloe Blacc came in second place on tonight’s fourth-season finale of “The Masked Singer,” just behind singer LeAnn Rimes (who was unmasked as the Sun). But being No. 2 isn’t an issue for the Grammy nominee, who told TheWrap what really matters to him is the ability to finally share his time on the Fox singing competition with his 7-year-old daughter, Mandela, whom he modeled his Mushroom persona after.

“The character I had presented was basically my daughter,” “The Man” singer said. “I thought, this is going to be a real surprise for her when she sees me unmasked. And when I put on the Mushroom outfit, because it has a stem and the stem was represented as a skirt, I sort of embodied the way that she is and plays when she’s wearing her dress-up princess...

It’s been a wild season of shocking reveals, awful judges’ guesses and one historic self-unmasking, but “The Masked Singer” has finally crowned a winner. The fourth season ended on December 16 with either Mushroom, Sun or Crocodile winning the coveted Golden Mask. (See Gold Derby’s finale racetrack odds.) In addition, one of the main panelists — Jenny McCarthy, Robin Thicke, Nicole Scherzinger or Ken Jeong — took home the first-ever Golden Ear trophy. Spoiler Alert: Do not read ahead if you have not watched Season 4, Episode 8 of “The Masked Singer,” which aired Nov. 18 on Fox.

“The Masked Singer” went with a double elimination on Wednesday night, unmasking two contestants in the process: Basketball star Lonzo Ball, who had been disguised as the “Whatchamacalit,” and viral sensation “Dr. Elvis” Francois, the so-called “singing surgeon” who became famous in the early days of the Covid-19 pandemic. (Watch the unmaskings below.)

Ken Jeong, a huge basketball fan, was the only panelist to figure out that Whatchamacalit was Ball.

The rest of the panel also went heavy with sports names: Robin Thicke picked Michael Strahan; Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg’s guess was Devin Booker; while Nicole Scherzinger guessed Carmelo Anthony. Guest panelist Cheryl Hines thought it was her “Curb Your Enthusiasm” co-star Jb Smoove.

As Whatchamacalit, Ball performed “Lean Back,” by Terror Squad feat. Fat Joe & Remy Ma.

Group B will be down to the final three contenders after the November 18 episode of “The Masked Singer.” Of the four celebrities contending for the Group B championship, the most entertaining, if not the best singer, has been the man in the . Whatchamacallit costume.

He first rocked the house with his energetic version of “I Wish” by Skee-Lo on September 30. He returned two weeks later with another catchy cover, “Money Maker” by Ludacris and Pharrell Williams.

After this week’s episode of “The Masked Singer,” Group B will officially be no more as the audience will vote to eliminate two of the four contestants: Crocodile, Seahorse, Serpent or Whatchamacallit. The surviving two singers will then advance to the Super Six, joining Popcorn and Sun, who survived Group A. Cheryl Hines will serve as the week’s special guest judge, joining normal panelists Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy, Ken Jeong and Nicole Scherzinger.

Season 4 of Fox’s wild and wacky reality...

The five remaining contestants in Group B took to the stage again on episode 4 of season 4 of “The Masked Singer,” which aired Wednesday (October 14) on Fox. Two weeks ago saw the first (and last) appearance of the sixth contender from this group: the Gremlin who took himself out of the competition before revealing himself to be Oscar nominated actor Mickey Rourke.

His one-time competitors are disguised as the Baby Alien, Crocodile, Seahorse, Serpent and Whatchamacallit. We rewatched all of their performances from episode two as well as their clues videos. And we are convinced we are on the right track when it comes to revealing the real names of the rest of Group B. Group B is back this week on “The Masked Singer,” so get ready for encore performances from Seahorse, Baby Alien, Serpent, Crocodile and Whatchamacallit. The first time these secret celebrities performed on Fox’s wild and wacky reality TV show was two weeks ago on September 30. That night featured the shocking self-unmasking of Mickey Rourke as Gremlin, who voluntarily quit the competition because he was too “hot” inside his costume. Season 4 of “Tms” began with 16 costumed singers spread out across three groups, but now only 13 remain: Snow Owls, Popcorn and Sun from Group A; Seahorse, Baby Alien, Serpent, Crocodile and Whatchamacallit from Group B; and Broccoli, Jellyfish, Lips, Mushroom and Squiggly Monster from Group C.

The fourth season of Fox’s “The Masked Singer” continued Wednesday with an episode that introduced viewers to six more of the 16 contestants competing on this installment: Serpent, Whatchamacallit, Seahorse, Crocodile, Gremlin and Baby Alien.

Those guys are part of Group B, a lineup that will be back to compete again after Group A has its playoffs next week and following the introduction of Group C. Well, all of the members of Group B will be back except for Gremlin, who the second contestant of the season to be eliminated and first-ever “Masked Singer” competitor to eliminate themselves, when he took off his mask on last night’s episode and revealed himself to be Mickey Rourke.

So that’s who Gremlin is — but who are the identities of the five remaining masked celebrities in Season 4’s Group B? See below for fans’ best guesses, which were sparked by clue packages...

The Masked Singer travelled into heretofore unexplored crooning country Wednesday, on two fronts.

First, the show debuted the Baby Alien costume, which complete obscures the singer inside (and also forces that person to engage in some basic puppetry). Second — and a much bigger deal, overall — the performer inside the Gremlin costume decided that he was done after one musical number and unmasked himself.
