Greg Heffley will be home for Christmas as Disney+ announced the official release date for the latest animated Jeff Kinney adaptation, Diary of a Wimpy Kid Christmas: Cabin Fever. Following up on last year's Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules, this feature jumps several books forward in Kinney's beloved series to the sixth entry which finds Greg in big trouble as he and his family get snowed in right before the holidays roll around. A first look at the series demonstrates their dire situation as he and Rowley begin to panic. Disney+ will begin streaming the wintry feature on December 8.

The Diary of a Wimpy Kid series has long been a staple on the bookshelves of kids everywhere and now a new generation will be able to follow Greg’s story on the small screen.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid author Jeff Kinney recently sat down for a conversation with uInterview founder Erik Meers to discuss why he thinks the series resonates with audiences.

2022 was a big year for Disney+, featuring Marvel hits like Ms. Marvel and She-Hulk: Attorney-at-Law and Star Wars blockbusters like Obi-Wan Kenobi and Andor. In the last month of the year, however, the streamer is switching things up a bit. Disney+’s list of new releases of December 2022 is a smooth, subdued ride with no franchise tentpoles to be found.

The closest thing Disney+ has this month to a big TV original is National Treasure: Edge of History on Dec. 9. A spinoff of the Nicolas Cage film series, this show will follow Jess Valenzuela (Lisette Olivera) as she searches for a centuries-old treasure.

Over on the movie side of things, there are a handful of intriguing options, though nothing rising to the Marvel or Star Wars occasion. Night at the Museum: Kahmunrah Rises Again is an animated film that will continue the story from the trilogy of films and it premieres on Dec.

There's no place like Disney+ this December with plenty of new and exciting titles making their way to the service right in time for the most wonderful time of the year. Get ready for the return of a fan-favorite franchise with the brand-new original series National Treasure: Edge of History starring newcomer Lisette Olivera and Academy Award Winner Catherine Zeta-Jones, the new series will also see the return of Justin Bartha as Riley Poole and Harvey Keitel as Peter Sadusky. Jeff Kinney's global smash hit book series Diary of a Wimpy Kid will be premiering its second animated movie this December, Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules, which adapts the second book in the series, as middle-schooler Greg Heffley is taken under the wing of his slacker older brother Rodrick. December will also bring new episodes of Disney+ original shows like Willow, The Santa Clauses, and The Mysterious Benedict Society.

Disney released a new clip from the upcoming animated kids movie featuring the return of Greg, as he bids his parents farewell for their trip. His mother reassures him that spending time with his brother alone might give them some quality sibling bonding time.

As soon as the parents are out of the situation, however, Rodrick has other plans and immediately ropes Greg into throwing an “epic party”.

In December 2022, Disney+ is welcoming a new adventure from a disaster-prone kid, an animated movie from the Night at the Museum film series, a special Encanto event, a Christmas special from a beloved boy band, and more episodes of some of the platform’s original TV series. November saw the arrival of some of Disney+’s most anticipated titles of the year, such as the musical comedy Disenchanted and the TV series The Santa Clauses, along with the TV series Save Our Squad with David Beckham, Limitless with Chris Hemsworth, and Willow. In addition to that, November saw the final episodes of Andor, a behind-the-scenes look at Marvel’s TV series She-Hulk, and a special look at the making of Marvel’s first Halloween special, Werewolf By Night.

There are several Disney animated movies releasing after Strange World coming from Walt Disney Animation Studios, 20th Century Animation, and Pixar. Thanks to Disney's various mergers, the Mouse House is an even bigger player in the animated movie industry. Pixar remains the most recognizable animation brand, even as Disney shifted many of the studio's recent releases to Disney+. Despite the strength of all three animation studios, Disney's collective efforts are still only producing a handful of titles for the family to enjoy in theaters or on a streaming service. Strange World represents Walt Disney Animation Studios' only 2022 feature release.

The new Disney animated movie stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Dennis Quaid, Jaboukie Young-White, Gabrielle Union, and Lucy Liu as a family of adventures. Strange World's reviews point to it being another success for Disney in the animation department, which should inspire even more excitement for what is ahead. The good news...

Spooky Season is in session on Hulu, as the streaming service is adding a ton of horror-themed content this month. But not to worry, there’s plenty of other non-spooky new movies and shows to watch, too.

In the horror realm, director David Bruckner’s new (and well-received) take on “Hellraiser” arrives on Oct. 7, while horror films ranging from “Annabelle: Creation” to “The ABCs of Death” to “Monster House” to “The Exorcism of Emily Rose” arrive throughout the month.

In decidedly non-scary new arrivals, the entire series of “Schitt’s Creek” comes to Hulu on Oct. 3 after streaming on Netflix for the last few years, while the Hulu original film “Rosaline” – which tells the “Romeo and Juliet” story from a different point of view – streams on Oct. 14.

Other noteworthy library titles include Wes Anderson’s “The French Dispatch” on Oct. 25 and David Cronenberg’s “Crimes of the Future” on Oct. 31.

When the name of your streaming service so neatly fits into the word “Halloween,” you have a moral imperative to bring the goods come spooky season. Thankfully Hulu is abiding by that obligation with its list of new releases for October 2022.

Halloween…or rather Huluween is set to be a big deal for the streamer. This month sees a bevy of horror offerings. On the TV side of things, the series adaptation of Clive Barker’s Hellraiser premieres on Oct. 7. That will be accompanied by two animated specials from Solar Opposites co-creator Justin Roiland. The first is A Sinister Halloween Scary Opposites Solar Special on Oct. 3, which is followed by The Paloni Show! Halloween Special! on Oct. 17.

Hulu’s original movies are decidedly spooky-centric this month as well. The horror meme movie Grimcutty premieres on Oct. 10 and will be followed by Matriarch on Oct. 21. Of course, many of the library...

Disney said Friday that it has set up a second film in its Diary of a Wimpy Kid animated franchise, revealing that Rodrick Rules is headed for a 2022 release date on Disney+.

Jeff Kinney’s mega-popular graphic novel series was the subject of four live-action Fox movies beginning in 2010, and the franchise was among those ID’d by Disney after the Fox merger to reboot and boost up Disney+’s movie slate after its launch. The 20th Century Studio pics are being produced by 20th Century Animation and Color Force.

The first film in the new franchise, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, will drop on the streamer on December 3. Brady Noon, Ethan William Childress and Chris Diamantopoulos lead the voice cast for the CG film, directed by Swinton Scott.

With a long weekend now upon us, folks are no doubt going to be seeking out fresh content to dig into and though today – and the next few days – are actually a bit light on new movies and TV shows when it comes to the major streaming services, there’s still some stuff worth checking out.

Of course, Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime and HBO Max, in particular, just delivered massive drops to their subscribers on the first of the month, with each platform bringing a ton – and we do mean a ton – of new arrivals. So, it’s understandable that July 3rd, 4th and 5th may be a bit on the light side.

Wanted to be in the room where it happens but couldn’t get tickets? Disney+ has you covered with its new releases for July 2020. That’s right, none other than Hamilton headlines the list of new Disney+ offerings this month! The filmed version of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s modern musical classic premieres on July 3.

Beyond that enormous original blockbuster, it’s a pretty decent month for library titles on Disney+ July 3 also sees the arrival of two Ice Age sequels and The Mighty Ducks. July 10 finds Nat Geo Wild originals Critter Fixers and Secrets of the Zoo joining the Disney+ stream.

In terms of other originals, it’s the usual fare. But the intriguing Muppets Now premiers on July 31.

Despite only launching in November, Disney Plus has already brought in nearly 55 million subscribers, who’ve been enjoying all of their content hailing from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the Star Wars franchise, Pixar, almost their entire back catalogue of animated films and much, much more.

However, it’s fair to say that when it comes to original material, Disney Plus hasn’t been bringing us very much. Sure, The Mandalorian was a major hit, but apart from that, none of their in-house projects have really stirred up any buzz. Unless, of course, you want to count Artemis Fowl, which has been making waves for all the wrong reasons.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like things will be improving on that front anytime soon, either. The Mouse House has just announced what’s headed our way in July and as you can see below, the list is lacking when it comes to buzzy original titles.

May isn’t quite summer yet but it is usually time that the networks start wrapping up their newest shows and preparing for a relatively fallow summer period. Since HBO isn’t a network, it has no such business model. But May sees the winding down of some HBO blockbusters all the same.

While there are some notable new releases for HBO in May 2020, the bigger story might be the things that are ending. Westworld concludes its third season on May 3 while new series Run wraps up on May 24. Thankfully the film losses in May aren’t too bad for HBO, unless the Agent Cody Banks saga drives a lot of traffic.

The most notable TV premiere in May is I Know This Much is True, a book adaptation starring Mark Ruffalo. This is a very bleak story coming along at a bleak time in history but perhaps those two things will cancel out.

Summer is here, and you know what that means — time to sit inside and watch TV in the dark. For those with HBO subscriptions looking to fill the void left by “Game of Thrones,” here is all the brand new content coming to the service in June.

Perhaps the most anticipated addition of the month is Season 2 of “Big Little Lies” coming June 9, now starring Meryl Streep alongside Zoë Kravitz, Reese Witherspoon, Shailene Woodley, Nicole Kidman, and Laura Dern.

Season one of Zendaya’s new Drake-produced high school drama series “Eurphoria” is also coming, and you can watch a teaser for it here. Fred Armisen’s comedy series “Los Espookys” arrives June 14.

20th Century Fox has debuted the first teaser trailer and poster for Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul, which is set to hit theaters on May 19. This trailer pokes some fun at the superhero genre, in its own unique way, teasing that none of the caped crusaders, galactic guardians or amazing web slingers over the past decade dared to be "wimpy" like the title character Greg, portrayed by Jason Drucker. This trailer gives fans a better look at the brand new cast that has been assembled for this fourth Wimpy Kid movie.

Back in November, 20th Century Fox unveiled a preview that gave fans a behind-the-scenes sneak peek at the new cast members, who replace all of the stars from the first three Wimpy Kid movies. Jason Drucker replaces Zachary Gordon as Greg, with Charlie Wright replacing Devon Bostick as his older brother Rodrick and Owen Asztalos replacing Robert Capron as Rowley.

Jeff Kinney, author of the record-breaking book series, is here to introduce you to the all-new cast of Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul. He is coming in direct from the set of this upcoming film! In the latest Diary of a Wimpy Kid installment, a family road trip to attend Meemaw's 90th birthday party goes hilariously off course. Pixar has dominated a list from LoveFilm of children's movies most watched by adults.

Sequel Cars 2 topped the ten most-watched kids' films on the Amazon service after 9pm, when children are assumed to have gone to sleep.

It was followed by the Oscar-winning Up, Ratatouille and Wall-e from the same studio.

Joss Whedon (The Cabin in the Woods) takes a contemporary twist on Shakespeare’s play for Much Ado About Nothing.

The film gained notoriety as being Whedon’s break project, a quick movie he whipped up at his home between principal photography and post-production of Marvel’s The Avengers. (He talks about how it actually helped in with Avengers in this Moviefone article.)

A romantic comedy, Much Ado About Nothing tells the story of two couples with different takes on romance.

The film stars Whedon regular Nathan Fillion (TV’s Castle), as well as Clark Gregg (Thor), Sean Maher, Amy Acker (TV’s Point of Interest), Fran Kranz (Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules) and Reed Diamond (Moneyball).

For as long as I can remember (the last three years), I’ve had one night ruined because of these Wimpy movies. The main problem with the films is that it has nothing to do with looking or feeling wimpy. Gordon once again plays Greg Heffley as an arrogant, selfish, lying, bratty kid.
