If you've ever watched a crime / thriller / mystery then you'll know exactly how this movie will play out within the first 10 minutes. There's zero surprises to be had, plot-wise, it's just a matter of how it'll get to the end - and if you've been paying attention to modern day movie making, you'll know a good amount of that too.
The one and only moment which felt original and actually caught me was the sudden death of one of the characters.
Unfortunately the writers are nowhere near as smart as they think they are, so the rest of it just feels like filler while we wait to them to confirm that all predictions were correct.
Also SO MANY stupid things happen that I can't even be bothered to list them or complain about them. Just do yourself a favour, skip this one and watch Shallow Grave (1994) instead - it's a FAR superior version of a similar story.

I just got done watching Depravity (2024) and it was a total snooze fest.
Positives for Depravity (2024): I like the central premise of this movie. The acting from the cast is okay enough here. Everyone from Victoria Justice, Taylor John Smith, Sasha Luss, Alex Roe and Dermot Mulroney were all fine for the most part. And finally, the movie's setting of this hotel was pretty cool.
Negatives for Depravity (2024): This movie is just a generic crime mystery thriller that was collecting dusk until some producer found it, change the script a little bit, add some familiar faces and called it a movie. Honestly, the only reason why I bothered to watched this movie was because Victoria Justice was in it and yet the movie still feels generic. This is the type of movie you would put on in the background while you're doing other things and you would miss nothing. Oddly enough, that's exactly what I did with this movie.
Overall, Depravity (2024) was a dull and generic crime mystery thriller movie that has been done many time before and it brings nothing new to the table. If you're looking for a movie to put on as background noise, then this is the movie for me. But if you're looking for something to entertain you, then you're better off skipping this movie.

This sucks, probably the worst acting I have ever witnessed. Story made no sense and was unrealistic, each scene felt so forced and dragged. Did I already mentioned how bad the acting was?. Watching this movie is a top 3 worst decision I have ever made. For every person who participated in creating this film, please never try and participate in a film ever again. Worst acting of all time, worst production of all time, worst storyline of all time, worst acting of all time, worst acting of all time, worst acting of all time, worst acting of all time, most probably one of the worst films of all time.

I'm a little surprised , the actors in this is usually not this bad and I am certain this was a movie they had to make because of low income or something. I watch and analyse many movies in all forms and genres and really, I've watched pretty bad low income movies with much better acting than this, what happened before the choice of being in this movie would be a much better movie than the actual movie and one that I would definitely look forward to watch. The music is also very annoying, from something in the 80,s 90,s , not even in sync, we all know the music and sound effects does a lot for all movies and this not it. Maybe other choices of sound could even get a 1 star to 2 stars, oh, and also I don't really understand how you think you can fit every bad horror movie In one ,like mashed up potatoes.
Looking forward to the behind stories tho thanks.

Three neighbors , Grave Shaw (gorgeous Victoria Justice) ,Alex Burke (Taylor John Smith) and Aria (Devon Ross) suspect their next door guy (the already veteran and prolific Dermot Mulroney) is a serial killer and when they enter undercover his apartment they discover a fortune, all of which leads to a sadistic game of survival. But then the group of roommates accidentally kill an innocent man. Later on , two really evil criminals, Tovia (Sasha Luss of Anna) and Claude (Alex Roe), go after them in search of stolen works of art.
A below average and some claustrophobic thriller with intrigue, tense, suspense, violence, twists and turns. It results to be a run-of-the-mill thriller with some terror elements that fails to deliver the goods. In fact, everything is disappointed by the improbable events and the bombastic situations. The story is hampered by its low budget - in fact, most of the film was set in the two apartments of the protagonists - and also by the unpleasant characters that act in the film. Thus, the roles are all ambitious, evil, and selfish, all have an uncontrollable passion for money, or some valuable paintings, and all will do anything to get them, even kill. Due to being set mostly in an apartment and with some characters clandestinely entering another home, we could perhaps classify this film within the ¨Home invasion¨ sub-genre , being filmed in similar naturalist and realist style to ¨Michael Hanake's Funny Games¨, ¨Secuestrados¨ by Miguel Angel Vivas , Enric Alberich's ¨Transgression¨, ¨Trespass¨ (2011) by Joel Schumacher and Don't Breathe I and II by Rodo Sayagues.
Apparently the film was shot between Thailand (that's why it was shot by the Thai cameraman Wych Kaosayananda) and the United States, but landscape and sightseeing enthusiasts will be disappointed since hardly any exteriors are shown. The motion picture was averagely written/produces/directed by Paul Tomasy. Directorial debut of screenwriter/producer Paul Tamasy, who also wrote this script. His previous screenplays include Air Bud (1997) and its several sequels and spinoffs for Disney, such as: Treasure Buddies, Santa Buddies, Space Buddies, Snow Buddies, Spooky Buddies , The Search for Santa Paws and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups. Paul Tomasy stands out in his scripts, such as: The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, The Fighter, Patriots Day, The Outpost, The Finest Hours. However, in Depravity (2o24) failed considerably, providing a mediocre and not very interesting film whose story we had already seen many times before and better filmed. Rating: 4.5/10. A routine thriller that will disappoint because it does not give what is expected.

Definitely not predictable. Really well done. Not boring and actually the last 60 minutes is even better. The other reviewers with the low ratings are clueless. I liked everything about this movie. Good directing, all well-acted. Good twists especially towards the end. I love this this type of movies when everyone tried to screw over the other. I should have rated this as 8 stars but I had to pull up the ratings for the unfair 3-4 which is an injustice. The overall acurate score should be 6.3 in my opinion. I'm not going to give away the movie, so I'm not going to say any more. Just watch it that is all.

Tight story, full of surprises and twists. The characters are fully fleshed out and the music along with the editing and creative camera angles all help move the story along at a clip.
At times the scenes feel like a Tarantino movie. It's menacing, sexy and clever.
Victoria Justice's performance along with the rest of the cast is enthralling as the plot and intrigue progresses.
Not every character makes it to the end of the film, and even though there's no way of predicting who is going to be killed it never feels unearned. There are no deceptive red herrings or eye rolling obvious clues.
Whenever you feel one step ahead of the plot the movie proves you wrong.

I didn't know what to expect and it certainly defied my expectations, from the story to the acting and the fascinating location (the hotel it was shot in was perfect for the story and genre), and it all tied together nicely, but the biggest surprises were the shocking twists that I did NOT SEE COMING and the acting was impressive all around including the outstanding cameo of Dermot Mulroney coming in and being a compelling figure to pull all of the other characters in. From a very accomplished writer this was an impressive directorial debut and hopefully a sign of bigger and better things to come!

I had a great time with this inventive thriller. The premise is strong, with an exciting and suspenseful story, several twists and turns, and a serious amount of harsh violence. The pace is high and the three main characters all get some background, enough to make you care for them, although they are hardly sympathetic, and all of them led by greed and opportunism. The acting by Victoria Justice, Taylor John Smith and Devon Ross is equally fine, and Alex Roe and especially Sasha Luss make convincing, hair-raisingly scary villains.
If anything, I had at the final conclusion a bit of a hard time tying all the knots together and comprehending how the scheme of the one that got away exactly had worked. But that's probably my too simple brain, and it didn't mar my appreciation at all. Great fun!
