The Terminal List is getting some serious reinforcements for Season 2. Deadline has reported that Edwin Hodge and Caitlin Bassett (Quantum Leap) have been cast in recurring guest roles in the hit Prime Video action thriller led by Chris Pratt. The casting marks a reunion for Hodge and Pratt, who previously starred together in 2021’s sci-fi blockbuster The Tomorrow War, and now, the two are going from fighting aliens to hunting conspirators in The Terminal List’s grounded and gritty world of covert military ops.
Created by David Digilio and based on the bestselling novels by Jack Carr, The Terminal List follows Navy Seal James Reece (Pratt), who uncovers a deadly conspiracy after his platoon is ambushed during a high-risk mission. Season 1, based on Carr’s debut novel, was a pulse-pounding dive into Reece’s descent into vengeance and justice. Season 2 adapts True Believer, and brings new allies—and enemies—into the fold.

The broadcast networks have undergone significant changes in recent years, shifting heavily toward unscripted and sports programming.
CBS has been one of the few exceptions — until now.
While ABC, NBC, Fox, and The CW have slashed their scripted lineups, CBS has remained relatively steady.

The network recently renewed 12 scripted shows and continued expanding franchises like NCIS and FBI.
That gave fans some comfort — even with controversial cancellations like The Equalizer, FBI: International, FBI: Most Wanted, and S.W.A.T.

But all of that is now in question.

Juliana Aidén Martinez is jumping from one Dick Wolf show to another. Two months after departing Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, the actor has been tapped for a series regular role on FBI.
According to Deadline, Martinez has closed a deal to join FBI as a series regular for its upcoming eighth season, which is scheduled to premiere on CBS on Monday, Oct. 13. No details about Martinez’s character have been disclosed yet, although FBI's Stuart Scola (John Boyd) is still looking for a permanent partner after the departure of both Tiffany Wallace (Katherine Renee Kane) and Syd Ortiz (Lisette Olivera) last season. It seems fans are going to have to wait longer than anticipated for FBI’s newest spinoff to arrive.
While the plan was originally for the new CIA spinoff to debut in the fall following new episodes of FBI, CBS will be down to just one FBI franchise show in the fall. This is because CIA is being pulled from the fall lineup and is on the move to midseason, meaning the Tom Ellis-led spinoff will not premiere until 2026.
As first reported by Deadline, part of this sudden and unexpected change comes from CIA undergoing a showrunner change with veteran Wolf Entertainment creative Warren Leight, who served as a showrunner on Law & Order: Svu for several years, taking over as the spinoff’s new showrunner. Leight will succeed David Hudgins, who was originally tapped to oversee the show following his time as showrunner of FBI: Most Wanted.

Bad news for anyone who had been eagerly anticipating the premiere of the FBI spinoff CIA this fall. Deadline reports that the Tom Ellis-led spinoff has had its premiere bumped back and will now get a midseason debut. The FBI CIA-basedspinoff got a straight-to-series order earlier this spring. Now, however, CBS is pushing it back as it is undergoing a change in showrunners.
CIA's original showrunner, David Hudgins, who had previous experience running FBI: Most Wanted, had originally been set to lead the show and co-write the pilot script with network procedural legend Dick Wolf. However, he is now exiting the troubled series and is to be replaced by Warren Leight, another Dick Wolf universe veteran whose previous experience comes from the long-running Law & Order: Svu.
What This Means For The FBI Spinoff It's Not Necessarily A Bad Thing
There had previously been signs that CIA was in some developmental trouble.

CBS is making a change to its fall schedule.
Second-year drama Watson, which had been scheduled for a midseason start, will move up to the fall. It takes the place of CIA, an FBI spinoff that CBS ordered straight to series in April but now won’t be ready in time for a fall launch. CIA, from Dick Wolf’s Wolf Entertainment, Universal Television and CBS Studios, is also changing showrunners: Warren Leight (Law & Order: Svu) is taking over from FBI: Most Wanted’s David Hudgins.
A writers room for CIA is at work, but casting for other roles around lead Tom Ellis hasn’t begun yet. Filming is slated to begin in early fall.
As for CBS’ premiere schedule, the network will once again roll out most of its lineup in mid-October, using the early part of the NFL season as a promotional engine. Unscripted mainstays Survivor and The Amazing Race...

Ahead of the Fall 2025 schedule, the upcoming FBI spin-off CIA, is getting two important updates. The Tom Ellis-led spin-off has actually been pushed to mid-season for its premiere, moving off the Fall schedule. According to Deadline, this comes as the series also undergoes a change in showrunner. The Dick Wolf property sees David Hudgins exit as showrunner and is instead bringing in a longtime collaborator with Wolf, Warren Leight. Leight is known for his work in the Law & Order universe on NBC including his two runs as Law & Order: Special Victims Unit showrunner.
'FBI' Spin-Off Enlists Long-Time Dick Wolf Collaborator to Run 'CIA'
The series has already seen some recent changes, with it remaining unclear who, if anyone, would be crossing over from the FBI shows as CIA launches. Leight served as showrunner for Law & Order: Svu from 2011 to 2016 and then returned as showrunner in 2019 to 2022 before departing once again.

Alyssa Milano shared a moving remembrance to Julian McMahon following his death, writing in a lengthy tribute post that he was “more than my TV husband” and a “dear friend” who supported her professionally and personally throughout their time on The WB’s long-running fantasy drama Charmed.
“I’m heartbroken,” she began. “Julian McMahon was magic. That smile. That laugh. That talent. That presence. He walked into a room and lit it up—not just with charisma, but with kindness. With mischief. With soulful understanding.”
Milano portrayed one of three powerful witchy Halliwell sisters alongside co-stars Holly Marie Combs and the late Shannen Doherty throughout the series’ run from 1998-2006, and in Seasons 3 through 5, her character Phoebe has a turbulent relationship with McMahon’s Cole Turner, a half-human and half-demon.
“We spent years together on Charmed—years of scenes, stories, and so many in-between moments. He made me feel safe as an actor.

They always say that deaths tend to come in threes, and sure enough, this is my third obituary in twenty-four hours for an iconic artist—following the passing of Michael Madsen and Mark Snow. According to a statement put out by his wife, Julian McMahon—the star of Nip/Tuck and Doctor Doom in two Fantastic Four movies—has died of cancer at only fifty-six.
What makes this all the more bittersweet is that he had just delivered a performance in The Surfer—opposite Nicolas Cage—that many of us thought ranked among his best work. In fact, I actually saw him at a party for The Surfer, and he seemed to be in excellent spirits promoting a movie he clearly loved.
Here’s the official statement from his wife, which was given to Deadline:

After Tom Ellis was cast as one of the leads of CIA, many speculated about his character's origins, and the actor has finally confirmed one theory. CBS ordered the third FBI offshoot in April 2025. Like the shows that came before it, CIA features a recognizable face headlining the cast — Ellis.
During an interview with Parade, Ellis teased what was to come in CIA and revealed details about his character, Hart Hoxton. Ellis, who hails from Wales in real life, confirmed that Hart isn't British. Instead, the actor will be putting on an American accent in the upcoming CBS police procedural TV series. Ellis explained:
"They don't allow Brits in the CIA, apparently. I might go undercover as a Brit at some point in it, but yeah, I am going to be American in it."

I’m going to come right out and say it. FBI needs to ditch the romantic subplots Now.
I’m all for character-focused drama, but procedurals aren’t soap operas, and I don’t enjoy them as much when they’re all about who is and isn’t together.
I’m especially tired of this alleged Maggie/Oa/Gemma triangle, which only seems to exist in FBI fans’ minds.
(Bennett Raglin/CBS) Maggie and Joel’s Blink-And-You-Miss-It Relationship Annoyed the Hell Out Of Me
Maggie doesn’t strike me as someone particularly interested in romance, but I’m still trying to figure out the point of her relationship with Joel, if you can even call it that.
Within the space of a few episodes, Maggie met Joel, went on a few dates, discussed how the danger involved in her work scared him, and broke up off-screen.

Weeks after the surprising cancellation of FBI: International, one of the co-creators has revealed their feelings about CBS’s decision to end the series. Since the show ended on a cliffhanger, it was clear that no one was expecting the show not to make a comeback for a season 5.
Derek Haas told TVLine he was just as sad as the fans about the reason CBS decided not to continue the series, which followed FBI agents who went to various countries to solve crimes. He also praised the addition of Chicago P.D. actor Jesse Soffer as Wesley, who Haas called a “dynamic cast addition” to the series.
He said that he has plenty of respect for everyone at CBS involved in the show, as well as those with Dick Wolf Entertainment and said he “trust[ed] their instincs.” However, he had no reason why it was cancelled and did not think...

Ever since it kickstarted its run in 2020 as a police procedural television series following the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) Fugitive Task Force (Ftf), FBI: Most Wanted has managed to rank among CBS’ breadwinners. If anything, it has contributed mightily to the network’s success and viewership. Currently, Dylan McDermott is leading the show.
Talking about McDermott, the actor has been doing a pretty good job so far as he embodies the character of Remy Scott in the spin-off show of Dick Wolf’s FBI. But while fans may know him for his dark, wry sense of humor onscreen, the actor’s real-life choices could actually leave you amazed. Like how his favorite TV show is a Barbara Eden gem!

Fans of Law & Order: Svu were devastated back when season 12 ended with the departure of actor Christopher Meloni, who played Olivia Benson’s partner, Elliott Stabler. Lalo Schifrin, the Grammy-winning composer of “Mission: Impossible” and film scores including “Cool Hand Luke,” “Dirty Harry” and “Bullitt,” died Thursday of complications from pneumonia. He was 93.
The Argentine musician was among the first to apply a broad range of musical ideas to film and TV scores, from jazz and rock to more modern and complex techniques of orchestral writing. His heyday was the 1960s and ’70s, when he produced several film and TV scores that are now regarded as classics.
In November 2018, Schifrin became only the third composer in the history of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences to receive an honorary Oscar. Clint Eastwood, for whom Schifrin composed eight scores, made the presentation “in recognition of his unique musical style, compositional integrity and influential contributions to the art of film scoring.”

FBI: International co-creator Derek Haas has stated his confidence that the show was not canceled due to quality issues. The second spinoff from the FBI franchise debuted in 2021, and ran four seasons and 78 episodes before its cancellation earlier this year. FBI international's original cast featured Luke Kleintank, Heida Reed, Christiane Paul, Eva-Jane Wolfe. Eventually, One Chicago alum Jesse Lee Sofer took over Kleintank's leading role. The show followed the FBI's international team, headquartered in Budapest, who protect threats to America coming from Europe. Despite decent ratings, FBI: International was unexpectedly canceled after four seasons.
Per TVLine, Haas has stated his belief that quality was not behind the show's unexpected cancelation. International was axed back in March, alongside fellow sister spinoff FBI: Most Wanted, and Haas revealed his disappointment at the cancelation. However, he also stated that, although he's unclear about the reasons for the show being canceled, he is confident...

With its conclusion after four seasons on CBS this May, FBI: International — canceled by the network along with fellow mothership spinoff FBI: Most Wanted back in early March — co-creator Derek Haas is opening up about the company’s decision to ax the series.
Speaking to TVLine, Haas said, “I was so sad to hear about the cancellation because I loved [Chicago P.D. star] Jesse Soffer [International‘s new lead] as Wes on the show and really thought it was a dynamic cast addition in Season 4.”
He added of his thoughts on the matter: “I have no insight into why it was canceled. I love [CBS Entertainment President] Amy [Reisenbach] and [EVP of current programming and daytime programming] Eric [Kim] over at CBS, plus all my good friends at Wolf [Entertainment], and trust their instincts. So they must’ve had reasons that had nothing to do with the quality of the show.”

TV has always been a numbers game — or so we thought.
Traditionally, when a show flopped in the TV ratings, it got the axe. End of story. But lately, even hit shows pulling in millions of viewers have been cut short for reasons that have nothing to do with performance.
Whether it’s behind-the-scenes drama, budget woes, or baffling network decisions, these shows all had the numbers, but still got canceled.

Let’s dig into the ones that never should’ve been sent packing.
The Society – Netflix
The Society was a smash hit — a Lord of the Flies-style teen drama brimming with potential.
