Are you ready to go back to the patch?

Landman, creator Taylor Sheridan’s hit drama about the wild West Texas oil industry, will return to Paramount+ for Season 2 on Nov. 16, the streaming service has announced.

The modern-day Western stars Billy Bob Thornton as Tommy Norris, the fixer for an oil drilling corporation. All day every day, Tommy has to deal with fatal accidents, legal problems, drug cartels operating on company land, and all kinds of other headaches — as well as problems with his firecracker ex-but-soon-to-be-wife-again Angela (Ali Larter), oversexed daughter Ainsley (Michelle Randolph), and headstrong son Cooper (Jacob Lofland). A landman’s work is never done. The series is described as “an upstairs/downstairs story of roughnecks and wildcat billionaires fueling a boom so big, it’s reshaping our climate, our economy and our geopolitics.”

Major changes could be on the way for Paramount+
Image
The company’s new owners are moving quickly to set up their vision of the streaming service’s future.

The new bosses at Paramount have a concrete vision for Paramount+, and it looks a bit different from how things were done under the old guard. That much was apparent on Wednesday, when several new Paramount executives discussed some of their plans with media members. The team has an ambitious vision, but unfortunately for Paramount+ subscribers, there could be some major pain points before the overhaul is complete.

Key Details: Here come the cuts: Paramount’s ownership change will result in layoffs, and possibly content removals. Open for business: Paramount+ will begin developing new titles from third-party studios. No streaming movies: Paramount+ shouldn’t be counted on to develop a ton of new streaming-only movies. Paramount swoops in to lock up UFC rights in 2026

Starting next year, numbered UFC events and Fight Nights will stream on Paramount+ domestically.

The new Paramount ownership group didn’t wait long to make a big splash in the sports arena. Key Details: Streaming and linear: Fights will be shown on Paramount+, with some simulcast on CBS. Paramount+'s live stream of CBS is my favorite feature
Image
This stream is only available to select Paramount+ subscribers, but it’s the best thing the app does in my opinion.

As will come as no surprise to readers, I have a ton of streaming subscriptions. Obviously, this is in part to keep up with the latest trends that audiences need to know about, but it’s also because I enjoy watching TV, and one of my favorite franchises to return to when I’m out of new titles to stream is Star Trek.

That means I’ve got to have a Paramount+ subscription if I want to keep up, though I’ve been plenty critical of the Paramount+ user interface in the past. There is one feature that makes the streamer stand out in my mind, however: a live stream of CBS that I can watch right from the Paramount+ app.

Ryan Reynolds, Taylor Sheridan and John Krasinski Among Hitmakers Paramount Skydance Needs to Keep Happy
Image
David Ellison finally has his prize.

On Thursday, the Skydance Media founder closed the $8 billion merger with Paramount Global that he orchestrated, enduring political turbulence and skepticism about the viability of the company’s TV and movie empire for over a year. In order for the deal to pay off, Ellison, who will serve as chairman and CEO of the newly rechristened Paramount Skydance, must maintain strong partnerships with the creative community. Before the sale, Paramount has lacked the financial resources of competitors like Disney and Netflix, but it has been the home of top talent. Keeping them happy and busy cooking up ideas for new film, TV and streaming franchises will be critically important if Paramount Skydance wants to outmaneuver other studios.

On the film front, look for the new regime to try to maintain or even extend some crucial first-look deals as Josh Greenstein and Dana Goldberg, who will oversee the studio,...

Yellowstone fans will have to wait longer than expected for the Rip and Beth spinoff
Image
Even though Yellowstone came to an abrupt end after five seasons last year, there's still a lot to look forward to in the still growing franchise from Taylor Sheridan. The story will continue with the forthcoming spinoff series Y: Marshals on CBS, which will star Luke Grimes reprising his role on Kayce Dutton alongside franchise newcomer Logan Marshall-Green.

Of course, the Yellowstone spinoff that fans have been most excited to get their hands on is the one featuring Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser returning as Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler. Taylor Sheridan’s Must-Watch 100% Rotten Tomatoes Series Circles Tom Hardy on Streaming Charts
Image
Taylor Sheridan has a trio of hit shows that are set to return to Paramount+ later this year, but one series that won’t be back with another season is still finding streaming success. Sheridan is the creator of 1923, the Yellowstone prequel show starring Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren as Jacob and Cara Dutton. 1923 Season 2 earned a perfect 100% rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, and although it aired its final episode earlier this year in April, the show has still been a consistent force on streaming charts. It’s even closing in on MobLand, the Guy Ritchie-directed series starring Tom Hardy and Pierce Brosnan. MobLand earned a much lower but still respectable 75% from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, and the show has already been renewed for a second season, unlike 1923.

Taylor Sheridan is currently hard at work filming the second season of Landman, which is due to premiere this December.

Every Taylor Sheridan Show Releasing This 2025 Fall, Ranked Least to Most Anticipated
Image
In 2025, fall television isn’t just crowded; it’s ruled by one man: Taylor Sheridan. The Yellowstone architect and TV powerhouse is back, and this time, he’s not playing coy. With three of his shows hitting Paramount+ before the year ends, Sheridan is staging an audacious takeover of the small screen, and Paramount has officially confirmed the storm is coming. From oil fields and mob wars to prison politics and crime dynasties, Sheridan’s slate is bursting at the seams and fans are already bracing for impact.

No exact dates for most of these have been nailed down (thank the looming Skydance-Paramount merger), but the company has already drawn the lines in the sand: Landman season 2, Tulsa King season 3, and Mayor of Kingstown season 4. Also, there’s one Yellowstone sequel spin-off that is all locked in for fall. While the latter remains under wraps, the first three series are coming in hot,...

Taylor Sheridan's Worst Movie On IMDb Came From The Director Of Commando
Image
Taylor Sheridan has carved a very specific niche for himself at Paramount. He's the mastermind behind "Yellowstone" and its myriad spinoffs like "1883" and "1923," which remain some of the best shows in the creative's oeuvre. All of his other shows, like "Landman" and "Tulsa King," have a distinctly neo-western vibe to them, which has clearly resonated with audiences. But before he was a taste maker, Sheridan tried to make a living as an actor, something that was easier said than done.

Sheridan still acts too. In fact, he had a supporting role as Travis Wheatley in "Yellowstone," but his bread and butter comes from behind the camera with his responsibilities as a writer, director, and producer. But acting used to be his main gig, showing up in episodes of "Walker, Texas Ranger," "Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman," and "Party of Five," to name a few.

However, his worst project, according to reviews on IMDb,...

Image
Taylor Sheridan's Landman has finally received its season 2 release window on Paramount+. The first season of Landman was a big hit for Paramount+ and cemented Sheridan as one of the most talented storytellers on television. Following Billy Bob Thornton's landman Tommy Norris, who must juggle cartel interests with the legal fallout from a fatal accident, Landman was well-received.

A combination of stunning scenery, powerhouse performances, and slick dialogue, Landman paints a mesmerizing picture of how the oilfields of West Texas shape geopolitical interests and make fortunes for many. Landman season 2 was given a renewal in March 2025, just two months after season 1 concluded, and now the season has a release window.

During Paramount's quarterly earnings call, it was revealed that Landman season 2 will premiere on the company's streaming platform in December 2025, as part of a slate of Sheridan releases. The show is set to be released after Tulsa King...
