Prime Video’s violent superhero series, “The Boys,” may be ending with season five, but prequel series “Vought Rising” is just getting warmed up. Two new faces have joined the cast.

Deadline reports that “Euphoria” actor Elizabeth Posey has joined the cast, while Variety reveals Posey is joined by “Blue Bloods” actor Will Hochman.

“Vought Rising” will also star Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash, who play Soldier Boy and Stormfront, respectively. The pair will also serve as producers on the upcoming series.

Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins have joined the fifth and final season of “The Boys” as guest stars, reuniting with their fellow “Supernatural” alum, Jensen Ackles.

Details on their roles are being kept under wraps.

“The Boys” creator Eric Kripke has long expressed a desire to cast Padalecki on the satirical superhero drama, telling Variety last year, “I feel like I have to complete my game of ‘Supernatural’ Pokémon and I have my one big one — very big one — left to catch.” He later told Variety he was talking to Padalecki about a role on the final season, saying, “I love him and you try to work with people that you love.”

In addition to Ackles, who plays Soldier Boy, “The Boys” has also featured “Supernatural” actors Jim Beaver (playing Robert Singer), Jeffrey Dean Morgan (playing Joe Kessler) and Rob Benedict (playing Splinter).

Prime Video and Eric Kripke essentially hit us with a good news, bad news one-two punch when it was announced that The Boys would be ending with its upcoming fifth season. Obviously, the bad news was that the fan-favorite series was tapping out following its next set of episodes. On the other hand, the good news revealed to audiences that this wouldn’t be the last time they’d step into the Kripke-created universe, thanks to a newly minted spin-off that was already heading towards production. Previous off-shoots, including The Boys Presents: Diabolical and Gen V, have already given audiences something different, and it appears that Vought Rising will do more of the same. The upcoming title will feature Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash as their deplorable “heroes” Soldier Boy and Stormfront, respectively, and take viewers back to the titular company’s early days.

Amazon's TV adaptation of The Boys stars everyone's favorite foul-mouthed Englishman: Billy Butcher, played by Karl Urban. After his wife was assaulted by Homelander, she disappeared, which caused Butcher to become exceptionally jaded — and really, who could blame him? His low tolerance for idiots combined with his loud mouth and lack of filter often makes him hilarious, even if the cause is tragic.

The Boys' writers gave him some great quotes that have had viewers doubled over laughing and in tears during many of his nihilistic, comedic rants, especially in the first two seasons. As the drama and action continues to ramp up in the Prime Video series, it's all but guaranteed Butcher will have more than his share of hilarious things to say himself. Given his history, he'll have to go all out to top himself in the upcoming final season of The Boys. He's had no shortage of gems already.

Netflix has announced that the Duffer brothers will be exploring the Upside Down in cartoon form in a Stranger Things animated series. Stranger Things is one of Netflixs biggest hits, revolving around a group of D&d-loving kids who discover monsters lurking in their own town. The show draws influence from 80s sci-fi classics, like E.T. and Altered States, to tell stories about supernatural forces invading the American suburbs. Netflix is clearly interested in keeping the franchise alive after the flagship series ends its run, and that includes a cartoon.

The Duffer brothers, the creators of Stranger Things, will serve as executive producers on the animated spinoff alongside Shawn Levy, Dan Cohen, and Fanboy & Chum Chums Eric Robles.

A lot happened during the season 4 finale of The Boys. Among them was Ashley Barrett taking a shot of Compound V after hearing that she was on the list of people Homelander wanted dead. The problem with taking any V is that the results are random. You could become as strong as Homelander, as fast as A-Train, or end up with hammer hands like Groundhawk. Unfortunately for Ashley, taking the shot was the only way to save her life.

After Ashley takes the shot, her head grows and her wig falls off. It’s like her brain was growing out of her skull. It’s easy to think that she’ll develop telepathy or telekinesis. Telepathy would keep her a step ahead of Homelander at all times. However, another way to stay alive is to become invulnerable. Jack from Jupiter is the only character in The Boys comic book that can do that.

Season 4 of The Boys has officially ended with a lot of shocking revelations, more gruesome killings, and a country which was thrown into deeper chaos. With Billy Butcher on a murderous rampage to get his revenge on the chilling Homelander, the 5th and final season of the show is being set up delectably.

Vought Rising joins The Boys‘ college-set spinoff Gen V and the animated show The Boys Presents: Diabolical in Prime Video’s franchise. After showrunner Eric Kripke joked they were introducing a new talent, Jensen walked onstage to the delight of the crowd. That’s when the star confirmed he is returning as a series regular for “The Boys” Season 5. As exciting as this news may be, it was a bit expected for some fans as the return of Solider Boy was teased in the Season 4 finale.

Ackles then announced the upcoming “Vought Rising.” Set in the 1950s, the show will track the “humble” origins of the superhero corporation Vought International.

Antony Starr is practically invincible in his role as the super-powered Homelander in Prime Video’s The Boys.
