First Image of Lizzy Caplan in Queens Of Country
It’s rare that a film develops the type of rabid fan-following unique to fare like The Rocky Horror Picture Show, but the creative team behind Queens of Country is boasting such a comparison. Having completed their post-production, filmmakers Ryan Page and Christopher Pomerenke (both from Blood Into Wine) are debating where to premiere the film. The announcement should be made sometime in mid-March. Queens of Country stars Lizzy Caplan (Cloverfield), Ron Livingston (Office Space) and Joe Lo Truglio (Superbad) and follows a small town Arizona girl (Caplan) seeking her soul mate, the owner of a lost iPod. Hit the jump to check out the first image from Queens of Country, featuring Caplan as Jolene Gillis. Here’s the first feature image of Caplan: Check out the full press release below: Feb. 6, Los Angeles -- Queens of Country, the irreverent Western tale of a lost iPod, line dancing and mistaken...

Trailer for ‘Queens of Country’ or My Boots Are Made for Running the Hell Away From This Film
It would seem unreasonable to suspect that anyone who saw last year’s Country Strong thought that the film would be improved with some jokes about mental retardation, but here we are. Coming from documentary duo Ryan Page and Christopher Pomerenke, Queens of Country has one of those on-paper pedigrees that sound like comedic magic — a cast that includes Lizzy Caplan,Ron Livington, and Joe Lo Truglio, a plot that sounds both sorta silly and kinda touching, and a score written by Modest Mouse frontman Isaac Brock. And then there’s whatever in sweet Hell this is. Caplan stars as Jolene Gillis, “the prettiest girl in a small Arizona town” who is obsessed with classic country jams (we’re talking all those real queens of country — Loretta Lynn, Tammy Wynette, Dolly Parton — so at least there’s a smattering of truth in the film’s title). When Jolene finds an iPod stuffed with all her favorite songs...

Lizzy Caplan, Ron Livingston and Maynard James Keenan can be found in this trailer for Queens of Country
So I figured out where the above picture of Lizzy Caplan came from. That lovely bouffant will be seen in Queens Of Country. I got to see this quirky trailer thanks to a good friend via facebook. The big draw for me was seeing Maynard James Keenan. Ya know? Band leader of Tool, A Perfect Circle, wine maker... Here he comes off a lot like Alan Cumming. No, that's not a complaint. The film is about a simple country girl who finds a mystery ipod that could lead her to her soulmate. Ron...

Five Rock Star Film Scores Modest Mouse’s Isaac Brock Can Learn From
By Zachary Swickey

Modest Mouse frontman Isaac Brock has been busy in the studio working on his group’s latest album – with Outkast’s Big Boi producing some tracks – but the enigmatic singer has just tacked another project on to his to-do list: scoring a film.

Brock has signed on to provide the audio accompaniment to a western comedy film (don’t see those very often) called Queens of Country. The movie is to be directed by Ryan Page and Christopher Pomerenke – the same fellas who brought us Blood Into Wine, a wine documentary starring Tool’s Maynard James Keenan. Rather appropriate since the singer is set to appear in the film as the antagonist – a bigger role than the cameos he’s used to.

Meanwhile, the lead actors are Ron Livingston, Sex and the City’s Jack Berger and star of the cult classic Office Space, and Lizzy Caplan of my favorite canceled show,...

Queens of Country Gets Isaac Brock Score
Queens of Country (2012)
Isaac Brock, Modest Mouse front man and songwriter, will compose the score for the upcoming feature film Queens of Country.

Ryan Page and Christopher Pomerenke, the writing and directing team behind the film, are best known for their music documentaries including Blood Into Wine, The Heart Is A Drum Machine and Moog. The pair have placed an equal amount of importance on the scores to their films with both The Flaming Lips' Steven Drozd (The Heart Is A Drum Machine) and Maynard James Keenan's Puscifer (Blood Into Wine) having contributed to their films.

Queens of Country stars Lizzy Caplan and Ron Livingston with supporting actors Joe Lo Truglio and Maynard James Keenan. The film centers on Lizzy Caplan's character Jolene and a lost iPod, which the obsessed country music fan is convinced belongs to her soul mate. Jolene quickly finds herself in a hilarious adventure of mistaken identities,...
