The latest Solo Leveling: Arise game update has debuted a brand-new character -- the Dark healer Isla Wright -- as well as released a new webtoon that features not only her but also the surprise return of a previously introduced cast member.

Solo Leveling: Arise developer Netmarble revealed the latest update in its "Hunter: Origin" backstory series, focusing on the game-original hunter Isla Wright. Isla believes that she was cursed from birth, suffering bullying and ostracization before a critical event in her life causes her to rethink her perspective. The Netflix series is set 30 years after the events of the original series and it revolves around a boy genius named Ichiro Umoregi, who was raised by demons he investigates cases that are caused by demons with the help of his partner, Mephisto the 3rd. Akuma Kun just blasted onto Netflix, adding to its impressive anime catalog. Based on the highly successful manga of Shigeru Mizuki, the anime series chronicles the story of Ichiro Matsushita, an Akuma Kun who runs a detective agency, or, as he would like to call it, Millenarianism Research Agency, with his partner-in-crime, Mephisto III, a quirky demon with an unending love for ramen. The anime series is jam-packed with eccentric characters that would make you chuckle and think about the dangers of the world where demons co-exist with humans.

Ichiro Matsushita, known more commonly as Akuma Kun, was a child prodigy who was born every 10,000 years. He was the successor of Shingo Yamada, the last Akuma Kun, who was also his adopted father. Ichiro was friends with a half-human, half-demon named Mephisto III and was often called to fix the leak in his roof or unclog his toilet.

Akuma Kun is an anime series directed by Junichi Sato, and Fumitoshi Oizaki. The series is set to be released on November 9 on Netflix. It’s based on the manga by Shigeru Mizuki.

If you’re in the mood for a enjoyable Japanese animated series with a “retro” vibe, then you’re in luck because here comes Akuma Kun. He’s not the friendliest or funniest guy, but that’s why he’s quite amusing.

He has come to Earth to confront demons through pentagrams, curses, and more, but neither the demons nor society will make it easy for him or his assistant, Mephistopheles, who complains all day long.

Netflix has announced new series “Ooku: The Inner Chambers,” the first anime adaptation of a hit Japanese manga by Yoshinaga Fumi.

At the ongoing Anime Japan convention in Tokyo, the streamer also unveiled “Yakitori: Soldiers of Misfortune,” another anime series, adapted from a military sci-fi novel by Carlo Zen and set to upload in May.

Directed by Abe Noriyuki and produced by Studio Deen, “Ooku” is inspired by tales emerging from the Ooku women’s quarters within Edo Castle and imagines that gender roles are reversed. After a plague threatens the male population women take up positions of authority. The new (female) Shogun Yoshimune enquires into why the women adopt male names when taking power and starts to unravel other mysteries within the inner sanctum. The original manga was published by Hakusensha / Melody.
