Horn Dog

One of Bill Plympton's most wonderful creations in recent years is his dog series--"Guide Dog", "Guard Dog" and "Hot Dog". "Horn Dog" is yet another film starring the same incredibly luckless and stupid dog--and, like the rest, it's extremely funny. In this installment, the dumb dog is feeling frisky and wants to have his way with a cute female dog in the park. But, time and time again, he thinks of ways to woo her but also imagines horrible consequences--such as in "Guard Dog". Finally, he grabs a violin to play a tune to melt her heart--and horror naturally ensues. Well written and featuring Plympton's usual beautiful line drawings--this one is well worth your time and is a must-see for his fans. Unfortunately, it is NOT included on Plympton's DVD "Dog Day"--which DOES have his other three dog films I listed above.

A small, nondescript dog running wild in the park spots a beautiful Afghan and falls instantly in love; every attempt to woo the lovely beast goes wrong.

It's another of Bill Plymptons cartoons --- usually referred to as 'Plymptoons' that enliven a happy audience almost every year. His protagnists always want something they can't have, and strive mightily to get it; shooting themselves in the foot or worse, like THE COW WHO WANTED TO BE A HAMBURGER, getting their wishes. This one has three gag sequences, which are very funny.
