We’ve gotten very little news of Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet since it was revealed at The Game Awards last year. Naughty Dog’s next big release has been long-awaited, but we know so little about it. But if this new leak from 4chan of all places is to be believed, we might know a lot more than we think.
According to an anonymous poster claiming to have worked in Quality Assurance from February to May 2025, the game could be a mix of The Last of Us Part II, Dark Souls, and God of War (2018). It’s a pretty crazy claim for sure, and one that we have to look at with skepticism. Because let’s face it, how often has a 4chan leak turned out to be real?
Details About Naughty Dog’s Next Game Just Got Leaked… On 4Chan
The leak describes Intergalactic as having a “nested sandbox” structure.

Elden Ring Nightreign has already proven that FromSoftware isn’t afraid to get creative with character skins. The game’s current roster includes everything from classic Dark Souls armor sets to more experimental designs that push the boundaries of what players expect.
But the community has bigger dreams. Much bigger. And significantly more feathered. A growing movement on Reddit wants to see one of Sekiro’s most memorable enemies strutting around as a Guardian skin, and honestly, it’s hard to argue against the sheer comedic potential.
Why Sekiro’s Rooster deserves its moment in Nightreign
Anyone who’s played Sekiro remembers their first encounter with those massive roosters. These aren’t your typical farm birds; they’re oversized, highly aggressive creatures that can absolutely ruin your day if you’re not careful. They’re also completely ridiculous in the best possible way.

Chrono Odyssey’s Closed Beta Test concluded a few days ago, but the controversies surrounding it persist. Now, the focus is on character customisation, which was nerfed because some of the characters created by players for the upcoming Mmorpg made the developers uncomfortable.
RPGs tend to have a vast character creation system. For example, Dark Souls had a robust character customization system, and the goofiest-looking characters were created, no matter how much it broke immersion.
Silly or not, you will don a badass armor to strengthen your stats anyway, so why bother? Still, the freedom FromSoftware gave to players didn’t go unappreciated. However, Chrono Studio is rolling back with the freedom to create characters for Chrono Odyssey.
“Strange and uncomfortable” characters led to the customization nerf in Chrono Odyssey
Looking at it from a gameplay perspective, this change makes sense because a silly-looking character breaks immersion, regardless of the outfit equipped.

Elden Ring Nightreign is FromSoftware’s latest title, and since it’s a roguelike game, there’s a lot of looting involved. And of course, not all loot in the game is equal. While there are pros and cons for most relics that you find in your expeditions, every now and then, the Rng gods just give you something crazy.
In the case of Redditor u/Miserable-Rock-949, they got a Grand Drizzly Scene relic with Improved Throwing Pot Damage, Improved Throwing Knife Damage, and Improved Throwing Stone Damage. For a relic that’s supposed to have three random Relic Effects, the combo of these three in particular feels like it was made for one specific kind of build.
This Elden Ring Nightreign player might’ve gotten the craziest relic
As you’d expect, when u/Miserable-Rock-949 posted their new relic and said, “This is hands down the worst relic in the game.

Elden Ring Nightreign turned out to be a massive success and proved you never bet against FromSoftware. Deviating from the traditional Soulsborne formula, it found its audience quickly and attracted countless Nightfarers to seize the night.
However, the game still has a long way to go, and fans are already up in arms with their wishlist for the roguelike multiplayer title. FromSoftware would do well to listen to them, as most of the time, the players are right, and their update wish list would serve as a Guidance of Grace for the developers to better their game.

We were all quite skeptical of Elden Ring: Nightreign when the game was initially announced. Seriously, no one expected this co-op roguelike to succeed, but here we are. So far, the game has been doing absolutely fine and continues to bring thousands of players on a daily basis.
One of the most fun aspects about Nightreign is how deeply it’s connected to the base Elden Ring game. You’ll come across a number of familiar characters, bosses, and even lore that ties to the main game. However, Nightreign doesn’t just reference Elden Ring.
What if we told you it also gives references to Dark Souls? Just take a look at the Raider without his armor on; doesn’t he look similar to Andre?
Dark Souls‘ Andre lives on in Elden Ring: Nightreign
It’s fair to say that the Raider is one of the best Nightfarers in Nightreign.

Spoiler Alert !!!This article contains spoilers for Act 1 and minor spoilers for the late-game of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Please be cautious.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has some scary bosses, but nothing quite compares to Lampmaster. The boss may seem easy at first, because of his slow attacks, but it’s a beast during the second phase. Why? Because it can completely wipe out your team with just one attack. Pretty heart pumping, huh?
Furthermore, it is not an optional boss initially, which makes it unskippable. To make matters worse, it’s not the only time you’ll face it. Why does this game contain so many hard bosses? Pretty sure the title of the game doesn’t read Dark Souls. Anyways, let’s tell you how difficult the boss is.
That one-shot attack is very scary in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33!

If you're looking for the next great RPG to dive into after The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered, one has just seen its full release today, May 23. Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon has just left early access, has great reviews on Steam (and from our review-in-progress), and is getting a lot of endearing Elder Scrolls comparisons.
Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon is a first-person fantasy RPG from developer Questline, and has a Very Positive rating from more than 4,500 reviews on Steam, with recent reviews even achieving Overwhelmingly Positive. Multiple users cite a distinct Elder Scrolls flair, comparing it to both Oblivion and Skyrim in its gameplay and open-world exploration. Fall of Avalon takes the bulk of its narrative cues from Arthurian legend, but is set 600 years after the mythic king has died, resulting in a dark fantasy world that has similar vibes to Dark Souls or Elden Ring.

In what may truly be the Dark Souls of movie adaptation announcements, Deadline reported that A24 confirmed today that director Alex Garland is writing and directing a live-action adaptation of FromSoftware's 2022 action RPG, Elden Ring . Bandai Namco Entertainment will also partner to produce the film. Andrew Macdonald and Allon Reich of DNA Films are attached to the project as producers along with fantasy author (and Elden Ring main story developer) George R.R. Martin and Game of Thrones co-executive producer Vince Gerardis. No further details about the film adaptation were revealed at the time of reporting. Although cinematic video game adaptations have been a thing for over 30 years now, it feels like we've entered a new era of such films. What's certainly true is that their popularity has only grown, and as more and more of these games get brought to the big screen, the opportunity for variety within the films themselves and the possibilities of who's behind them increases. As evidence comes the news today (via Deadline) that Alex Garland is partnering with A24 and Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc. to bring a live-action "Elden Ring" to cinemas in the near future. While Garland has lent his talents to numerous films in various capacities — a big example being the upcoming "28 Years Later," which he scripted for director Danny Boyle — it seems that he won't just be writing the "Elden Ring" adaptation, but that it will be his next film as a director, too.

Arise now, ye Tarnished, for the call of an Elden Ring film adaptation speaks to us all! FromSoftware’s global hit open-world dark fantasy RPG is officially heading to the big screen, as the rumors of A24’s involvement have been confirmed. The much-lauded indie studio is developing the project with one of their regular partners of late, Warfare and Civil War director Alex Garland, confirmed to write and direct the feature. Given the magnitude of the title, it's poised to be one of the most expensive and daunting projects A24 has taken on to date. Publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment jointly announced the feature with the production company on Thursday.
Garland's Elden Ring will be produced by Game of Thrones mastermind George R.R. Martin, who famously contributed elements to the game's story and worldbuilding. The news hardly comes as a surprise, considering the widespread interest in adapting the game to the big screen,...

“Civil War” and “Ex Machina” director Alex Garland is again teaming with A24 on what could be one of the most ambitious and expensive projects either the director or studio has taken on. Garland will direct for A24 a live-action feature film based on the acclaimed video game “Elden Ring,” and we only hope it’s less punishingly difficult for Garland to make as the game is difficult to play.
Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc. and A24 announced the news on Thursday that the “Elden Ring” movie based on the FromSoftware game from Hidetaka Miyazaki was in the works. Garland is both directing and writing based on the mythological story as written by “Game of Thrones” author George R. R. Martin. Martin is also producing the film alongside Peter Rice, Andrew Macdonald and Allon Reich from DNA, and Vince Gerardis.
“Elden Ring” is an action RPG set in an authentic dark fantasy world.

MercurySteam’s Blades of Fire throws players into a world where every swing of steel carries consequences. You take on the role of Aran De Lira, a solitary blacksmith whose quiet life among the pines is shattered by a friend’s brutal murder at the hands of a despotic queen. From that moment, you’re tasked with unraveling her curse that turns living steel to stone, using nothing but a magical forging hammer and sheer determination.
This action title draws heavily from the Soulslike tradition—labyrinthine map layouts, punishing checkpoints, respawning foes—yet it carves out its own identity through a weapon degradation system that nudges you away from comfortable playstyles. There’s no experience-point progression here; instead, you harvest materials from fallen enemies and forge new weapons on the spot.

In a rare occasion for the Soulslike genre that spawned from the popularity of the Dark Souls games, Lies of P will be breaking a celebrated and often controversial tradition for the genre. Lies of P was released in 2023 and was highly regarded for its combat, RPG mechanics, Victorian Gothic atmosphere, and visuals. A sequel is in development and a Dlc expansion called Overture is releasing this summer, which will come with some interesting new gameplay options.

While it does not exactly take after the Souls genre in the traditional ways, the recent hit Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 does bring the parrying and dodging fun to the party, despite being a turn-based RPG. With its beautiful visuals and Soulslike combat, the title already walks a tightrope between challenge and reward.

Perhaps, that’s why now we have a mod for the game with a twist that could either turn your playthrough into a sequence of perfectly-timed parries that could one-shot you if missed, or a walk through the park even against the hardest of the bosses.

The world of Hidetaka Miyazaki’s Dark Souls is known for its nightmare-inducing bosses, some of them being brilliantly designed beasts that you can’t help but give a thought even after putting the controller down. But amongst every other enemy, one seemingly elegant boss has recently gained a whole new identity thanks to a rather uncanny resemblance.

Unfortunately, for now, there is no Dark Souls movie on the horizon, something that would have retold the classic Hidetaka Miyazaki punishing experience through another medium of expression. Moreover, while there might not be a movie in the works, the better part is that nothing is stopping the fans from making their own fan casts if a Dark Souls adaptation had to be made.
Perhaps, at the top of this fancast list would be Dwayne The Rock Johnson as Oscar, Knight of Astora, a choice that, at first glance, feels like a meme, but is surprisingly a well-chosen role for the actor.

Even the most fearsome characters of the Marvel Cinematic Universe aren’t immune to the challenge Hidetaka Miyazaki’s Dark Souls 3 poses. One of these is Ben Mendelsohn, the actor behind the Skrull leader Talos in Captain Marvel and Secret Invasion. He recently revealed that he rage-quit the infamously difficult RPG after being absolutely destroyed by one of its most formidable bosses.
For those wondering what boss could have stopped the Skrull leader? Well, the answer is the Nameless King. He is widely regarded as one of the most difficult bosses not just in Dark Souls 3, but in FromSoftware’s entire catalog. Stepping into the arena, players face a two-phase battle involving some of the fastest, hardest-hitting combos in the series.

You can’t change my mind on the fact that Bethesda’s seminal classic Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is still the titan of the RPG genre. It’s been 14 years since the release of the game, and it’s still a title that will shock you with its hidden secrets in the fantasy world of Tamriel.

Even though Hidetaka Miyazaki’s Soulsborne games have given me a similar level of joy, I believe they’ll be better off learning a few tricks from Skyrim before Elder Scrolls 6 finally releases.

Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra has officially been hit with a delay, and it will no longer be released in 2025. Rise of Hydra was originally slated for a holiday 2025 release, thanks to the game's Black Panther voice actor, Khary Payton, saying: "We’re still working. We’re planning on 2025… We’re thinking like a Christmas situation. But I'm so excited." Rise of Hydra will be set in occupied Paris during World War 2, and will feature four playable characters: Black Panther, Captain America, Gabriel Jones, and Nanali.
According to developer Skydance Games on X, Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra will now be released sometime in early 2026. The game's delay has been cited as a desire to "add more polish" and deliver the best possible experience. The message from Skydance Games also promises "some exciting things" in store, and more information should be coming soon.

While known for his brilliant storytelling capabilities and world-building, Hidetaka Miyazaki doesn’t really excel when it comes to making his games accessible to a vast group of gamers out there. His “patience and pain equal reward” mentality made him deliver back-to-back timeless classics that really offer nothing but suffering when it comes to combat and boss battles.
Getting back to the accessibility part, if you’ve ever had a hands-on experience with any Soulsborne title, whether that be Dark Souls or Elden Ring, you’d know that FromSoftware does not fool around when it comes to difficulty. So, where do differently abled gamers, who are perhaps not able to play the same way as others, fit in this equation? Especially when it comes to the hardest Souls game, Sekiro.

An overview trailer for Elden Ring Nightreign has given the first look at many of the Nightfarers' alternate cosmetics, including some inspired by iconic outfits from Dark Souls and Bloodborne. The so-called Fashion Souls movement has sprung up around FromSoftware's games, and many sets of armor from the studio's RPGs have become iconic, and now make their way into the co-op roguelite.
Bandai Namco's overview trailer on YouTube for Elden Ring Nightreign covers a lot of ground, but one of the more exciting reveals for longtime fans includes outfits inspired by previous FromSoftware games. Players will be able to equip the Faraam set from Dark Souls 2 (the armor featured on the cover), Solaire's outfit from the original Dark Souls, and hunter garb inspired by the outfits in Bloodborne. According to the trailer, all cosmetics will be earned in-game by spending Murk, a currency earned from playing.

As a true FromSoft fan, one can’t really ever have enough of the Souls genre, whether that be straight brilliance from the studio itself or imitations that have set out to make a name for themselves, defined as Soulslike. Fortunately enough, one such title is exactly what players will rely on if, by any chance, Elden Ring Nightreign fails to perform after it’s finally out by the end of this month.
Hell is Us is an upcoming title made by Rogue Factor, and its first trailer, released last year, already had us excited. While it wouldn’t be fair to call it a complete Soulslike, the game does dive into similar dark themes with a semi-open world exploration that fans are going to love, in case they don’t end up liking FromSoftware’s next project.

When Nintendo finally revealed the Switch 2, none of us expected FromSoftware to be a part of the release live stream. Once again, Hidetaka Miyazaki is doing something unique with the upcoming 2026 Switch 2 exclusive, The Duskbloods.
The game is to be an exploration of the PvPvE sub-genre of games, a rare departure from the signature style of the studio. Best known for Elden Ring and Dark Souls, Miyazaki recently explained the motivations and reasoning behind the idea of this shift.
Hidetaka Miyazaki is really being creative with the multiplayer aspect of The Duskbloods
Miyazaki describes the game as a PvPvE title (Player versus Player versus Environment). He explained why he found this approach liberating in a recent interview with Nintendo.
Yes, I’ve always found the PvPvE structure very interesting. It allows for a broad range of game-design ideas, while also letting us leverage our experience of designing challenging enemy encounters.

We have seen Hidetaka Miyazaki put across a lot of gross stuff in his iconic Dark Souls trilogy, making it hard to imagine something to be “too disturbing” for his tastes. Yet, even in a franchise infamous for its monstrosities, there was one boss concept that crossed a line not because it was too frightening but because it lacked an emotional core.
The moment came during the development of Dark Souls 3, when artist Masanori Waragai submitted an early design for an Undead Dragon boss that was so revolting, series creator Hidetaka Miyazaki outright rejected it.

There are a lot of iconic boss designs in Dark Souls 3, and all of them made their way into the game after a deliberate design selection process that the art directors and Hidetaka Miyazaki came up with to ensure no bias.

Another day on this dirt planet floating in vast space, another greedy tactic by a massive game studio. This time around, it’s FromSoft that’s raising the bars of bull turd in the gaming industry. As if people didn’t have enough to flood the universe with it.
Really? A 200 bucks worth whistle FromSoft? Of course, there’s gonna be some idiot who’ll buy it. Remember the horse armor set that began the idea of microtransactions? Be prepared for macrotransactions if that idiot isn’t stopped from kickstarting another canon event.

FromSoft isn’t hated on usually, but this is out of line. The Soulsborne games are amazing, and Dark Souls 3 and Bloodborne still remain close to the heart of the community.

FromSoftware’s multiplayer spin-off of their most popular franchise, called Elden Ring Nightreign, is just around the corner, with just nearly another month to go before it launches. The co-op survival game happens in another version of The Lands Between, where a group of three players has to survive three nights, each ending with a boss fight.

From the Dark Souls trilogy to Elden Ring, as someone who has walked down the gates of hell placed masterfully by Hidetaka Miyazaki, the Souls games are not just a genre but a rite of passage for every gamer who dares to step inside.

We’re on to the second season of HBO’s smash hit The Last of Us, a show that’s become a crossover success among gamers and non-gamers alike. I’m conflicted about this, because on one hand, I loved the story of The Last of Us games and wanted everyone to experience it. From the moment you step into Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, you’re thrust into a world where art measures life itself. Each year, a mysterious figure known as the Paintress inscribes a number on her towering canvas, sealing the fate of everyone that age. You command a small band of explorers—each facing their final year—on a mission to confront this looming arbiter of death.
The setting feels like Belle Époque France seen through a dream: ornate metal bridges dissolve into underwater forests, and drifting whales glide beneath gothic spires. There’s a hush of melancholy in every sunlit clearing, as though the world itself is holding its breath before the next brushstroke of doom.

In Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, players start out in Belle Epoque Paris, where the Art Nouveau architecture is bathed in warm, fading sunlight. But something is very wrong here. The Paris of Sandfall Interactive’s video game is strangely frozen mid-apocalypse, the debris of an extinction level event in progress floating in mid-air. Our main protagonist, Gustave, and his sister start using magic to careen across rooftops in order meet with his beautiful ex-partner, Sophie, and the pair are seemingly on the verge of reconciling during a citywide celebration full of music and roses. Except that’s not what the day actually is.
People are leaving their personal belongings in the street for others to claim. Families are huddled together. Gustave and his love are less wistful than solemn. And then you find out why, in an elegiac sequence where a giant, seemingly feral woman, the Paintress, crawls up to a...

The town of Wickham, one of your first destinations in Mandragora: Whispers of the Witch Tree, is split in two by a foreboding gate. After months of rampant speculation and leaks, Bethesda Game Studios has finally confirmed that the Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered is real, with plans to reveal the game on April 22, 2025. It’s fair to say that the remaster is one of the worst-kept secrets in the gaming world, as reports around it have been circulating for months.

Players were hyped as, finally, an Assassin’s Creed game was reported to take place in Japan. However, it seems like the development of the Oblivion remake flew right under the radar.

FromSoftware is well-known for developing some of the best Soulslike games of all time, but it all began with 1994’s King’s Field. This game was only released in Japan, but its success convinced FromSoftware that it must let the rest of the world experience it, so King’s Field II was released in North America as King’s Field.
These two games played a key role in laying down the foundation of the franchise, which is often labeled as one of the best classic video game series of all time.

The last main game in the series, King’s Field IV, was released in 2004 for PlayStation 2. Most believe that FromSoftware hasn’t developed a King’s Field game since then; however, in 2004, it released a King’s Field mobile game in Japan, followed by the “Additional” series for PSP.

Avatar: Fire & Ash already has all the hype in the world for it after the blockbuster success of James Cameron’s Avatar: The Way of Water. The two films followed the 2009 film, Avatar, which happens to be the highest-grossing film ever. While Dark Souls 4 remains a dream that will never be fulfilled, thanks to the iconic FromSoftware franchise getting the perfect closure 9 years ago, there is another video game out there that Xbox Game Pass subscribers can play to cope with the loss of a title that was never headed for launch to begin with.
Developed by Team Ninja, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty doesn’t just borrow elements from the Soulsborne formula, but it channels the very essence of what makes it a cult classic, including the gothic elements and the punishing combat.

Gone are the days when appreciating your favorite video game meant posting a simple Steam review, as the standards nowadays are set higher by fans, none other than that of Hidetaka Miyazaki. The renowned director is known for pioneering the massively popular Soulsborne genre, with his most recent hit being 2022’s Elden Ring.
As his first open-world venture, the game was, as one could guess, extensively vast. It featured a map called The Lands Between that, honestly, made other open-world maps feel just like Dlc extensions. What’s crazier is that this vast map has now been remade inside Minecraft by a fan.

Sony’s exclusivity stunt with Hidetaka Miyazaki’s Bloodborne is sure to be jotted down in the history of the gaming industry, given how it chains one of the best Souls titles behind the walls of IP laws. Fortunately enough, FromSoft learns from its mistakes, or so it seems with the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive, The Duskbloods.

Not only is it lined right up with the development of Elden Ring: Nightreign, another multiplayer title by the studio, but he also needs to make sure it does not end up facing the same fate as Bloodborne.

As perfect as Hidetaka Miyazaki’s Dark Souls 3 is, fans of the iconic franchise can’t help but long for a 4th installment. And while it is a distant dream that seems even more impossible than a Bloodborne port on PC, players might finally have a solution to get a final closure on FromSoftware’s signature franchise.
Mods have been carrying the PC world of gaming for the longest time, and Dark Souls mods are particularly popular for filling in the gaps the studio couldn’t at the time. The one we are going to talk about puts forward a version of the third and last game of the trilogy that might as well be called Dark Souls 4.

Maybe it’s because of a sense that we are expendable parts in the great capitalist machine, that the endlessly repeating death trope has been increasingly respawning in movies – from Edge of Tomorrow to Mickey 17 and now this Canadian sword’n’sorcery caper. With its sisyphean vibe and implacable mood, it also owes a fair bit to the Dark Souls video games; though it’s not a masterpiece on that level, it nevertheless has a grim self-conviction that grips despite its low-budget limitations.
Paladin Bhodie (Jeremy Ninaber) – who apparently asked the barber for the Gondor bob and beard trim – agrees to enter a cursed realm to rescue red-haired maiden Avalon (Kristen Kaster), who is central to a humanity-saving prophecy. Needing to collect three magic stones to open up an exit portal,...

As much as FromSoft likes to claim that multiplayer games are not going to be the studio’s main focus in the coming times, their recent announcements have us believing otherwise, all thanks to a partnership with Sony that nobody saw coming.
Lined up right against each other are Elden Ring: Nightreign and The Duskbloods, two multiplayer titles currently under development by the studio. While this undermines previous claims, it further puts it in a position of uncertainty where the success of these titles can be the deciding factor of how FromSoft will approach future projects.
Elden Ring Nightreign is accompanied by another multiplayer game | FromSoftware FromSoft is now a hypocrite: All thanks to Sony
Our favorite studio, headed by none other than Hidetaka Miyazaki, has been on a roll recently. In the past decade, from Dark Souls to Elden Ring, it has seen much success, and it seems unstoppable for now.

During each location along The Great Circle's route players must constantly be aware of their surroundings if they hope to survive, especially on higher difficulties. Whether sneaking around heavily fortified camps or scavenging enough resources and weapons to get by, there's always one trusty tool waiting to be used.
The Combat isn't the only area that saw innovative changes made to the world of archeological adventuring, as The Great Circle managed to easily solve the dreaded yellow paint dilemma. Excelling at balancing the line between accessibility and challenging gameplay, The Great Circle aims to put players in the shoes of the legendary archeologist in every way possible, aided greatly by its first-person perspective. Aside from Indiana's...
