Bradley Cooper and Will Arnett, whom both have known each other for a long time outside of Hollywood, have built quite the resume with an abundance of acting and producing accomplishments, and now they're set to come together on a new project. Per a report from Deadline, the two of them are developing and starring in new film Is This Thing On? from Searchlight Pictures, with Cooper to also direct the feature.

Is This Thing On? is the latest creative collaboration between Will Arnett and Bradley Cooper, and as it's very early on in development there are very few details available in terms of the plot or any other rumors of casting. Costume designer Michael Clancy, who worked on My Big Fat Greek Wedding and Ray Donovan, has died. No further details are currently available but Deadline will update this story accordingly.

His friend Naomi Wolff Lachter remembered Clancy and celebrated their friendship via Instagram with a collection of photos. She referred to him as “a true original” and a “brilliant artist.” Clancy and Lachter both worked on the 2010 series, Running Wilde.

You may know that director Kevin Smith's first film Clerks spawned the Clerks animated TV series in 2000, although it only ran for one season. What you may not know is that, five years earlier, the indie hit was actually adapted for a live action TV pilot, starring Jim Breuer as Randall Graves and Andrew Lowery as Dante Hicks. Update: Marvel has officially confirmed that Joe and Anthony Russo will indeed direct the two-part Avengers: Infinity War movie, due out in 2018 and 2019. Even just five years ago, Anthony and Joe Russo were carving out a pretty healthy career as directors on doomed TV shows like Carpoolers, Running Wilde, and Animal Practice, about a veterinarian whose best friend is a monkey. Of course, they did also work on good shows like Arrested Development, Happy Endings, and Community, but the point is they were just small screen guys doing simple sitcoms with small casts and zero special effects. Will Arnett already stars in Arrested Development and Bojack Horseman, and now he's getting a third Netflix project, just in case he was thinking of leaving the office once in a while. It's an eight-episode TV show called Flaked, and it'll star Arnett as an L.A. lifestyle guru who falls for his best friend's crush. Arnett's writing the show alongside Todd Margaret's Mark Chappell, and Mitch Hurwitz is helping executive-produce — it's the Running Wilde reunion fans have been clamoring for for years!

Even though the fourth season of Arrested Development ended in a cliffhanger and the promise of a movie, creator Mitch Hurwitz is now moving to develop a new comedy series for Netflix.  Additionally, Hurwitz "will develop projects with other creators as a non-writing executive producer and will consult for Netflix on comedy series," according to Deadline.  While Netflix remains in a licensing rights arms race with other streaming services (Amazon Prime just netted HBO content), the popular streaming service is making progress when it comes to original series.  They're doing well in dramas with House of Cards and Orange Is the New Black, so now it looks like they're trying to bulk up their comedy roster. It's worth noting that while Hurwitz found critical acclaim with Arrested Development, his other series Sit Down, Shut Up and Running Wilde both flopped.  However, Netflix also provides more creative freedom than network television.

Those people (and TV critics) wondering why Will Arnett would take a role on a CBS multi-cam sitcom with a running fart gag in the pilot, for crying out loud, even if it is exec produced by Greg Garcia, need look no further than Forbes’ just-out list of the highest-paid TV actors. It’s topped entirely by CBS comedy stars. Sure, we loved him on Arrested Development, and yes, we cheered whenever he’d pop up to sabotage Jack Donaghy. But with the short-lived Fox series Running Wilde under his belt, and the mismanaged Up All Night to his name, Arnett is dangerously close to becoming known as a product of a successful TV series who simply can’t get it done on his own. And he’s not alone.

Chicago – There are very few recurring weak points in the CBS lineup. They’ve been dominating total viewers for years with mega-hits like “NCIS” and “The Big Bang Theory.” But there is one thing they haven’t been able to figure out — something to partner with “Tbbt.”

After failing miserably with shows like “Rob!” and “How to Be a Gentleman,” they gave up and just moved “Two and a Half Men” to Thursday nights. That worked and so now they’re trying to expand the empire by pulling the night’s big hits apart and launching two programs in between. Neither are good and one is horrible. Ah well. Maybe they can move “2 Broke Girls” to Thursdays too.

After emerging from its cancellation cocoon as 15 imperfect-but-overall-entertaining butterflies, Arrested Development has returned to its natural state of hibernation, sleeping off the Forget-Me-Nows while Mitch Hurwitz, Ted Sarandos, and Brian Glazer take turns trying to coax their creation back out of its chrysalis, whispering words like “conversations,” “interest,” and “willing.” Hurwitz may not know the magical combination of words, dollar signs, and scheduling that will bring the show back out of its diamond-dust-encrusted shell, but he has a good idea of what it will look like—in terms of puppet content, suggestive architecture, and Running Wilde alums, at least ...

In this week's Empire Podcast special, the man behind the much-loved cult classic sitcom Arrested Development, Mitch Hurwitz, took the time to talk about the making of the show's recent resurrection, as well as what to expect from the potential follow-up, a.k.a. The Arrested Development Movie.The idea of an Arrested Development movie has circled the internet since the show was still on the air, but it's only since Netflix brought back the Bluths that it seemed like a genuine possibility. The first season of ‘Arrested Development’ in seven years hit Netflix in its entirety at 3 Am on May 26. If you’re like many others, you’ll be skipping the Memorial Day cookouts to stream the whole season as quickly as possible. But before you do that, here are a few crucial details to recall so that you can hit the ground running.

It’s been a long time since Fox closed its doors on Arrested Development, the cult comedy that has morphed into a cult classic since going off the air. Long before she slipped into her first Manolos or a dashing man's arms, Carrie Bradshaw was fabulous.

Even when she was 16 and a high-school junior, Carrie, who grew up to be the center of HBO's celebrated series "Sex and the City," was delightful. Her spirit shines through in The CW's "The Carrie Diaries," premiering Monday, Jan. 14.

AnnaSophia Robb plays Carrie. She doesn't look like Sarah Jessica Parker. Rather, she projects something more elusive, Carrie's personality and hints of the woman she would become.

"It was almost next to impossible" to find the right actress,  showrunner Amy Harris tells Zap2it.

"We auditioned 300 very talented actresses. There was a through line I had to find, connecting young Carrie to old Carrie. In The CW's "The Carrie Diaries," premiering this January, fans are transported back to a time where Carrie lived with - and talked about - her family, and the new series features the legendary character's little-known sister, Dorrit.

FX has placed a 13-episode order for The Americans, a Washington DC-based period drama starring the Felicity actress and Brothers & Sisters‘ Matthew Rhys.

Living up to his promise to infuse his struggling network with more original programming, the CW Network has picked up five new pilots to series. The Sex And The City prequel The Carrie Diaries, the Green Arrow reboot Arrow, a Beaty And The Beast re-imagination that shares the same name, a mystery thriller called Cult and a medical drama First Cut. It’s 1984, and life isn’t easy for 16-year-old Carrie Bradshaw. Since their mother passed away, Carrie’s younger sister Dorritt is more rebellious than ever, and their father Tom is overwhelmed with the responsibility of suddenly having to care for two teenage girls on his own. Carrie’s friends – sweet, geeky Mouse, sarcastic and self-assured Maggie and sensitive Walt – make life bearable, but a suburban life in Connecticut isn’t doing much to take her mind off her troubles.

Here’s the winners list: Sex and the City prequel The Carrie Diaries, comic book adaptation Arrow, the fairy tale update Beauty and the Beast, the medical drama First Cut and the investigative drama Cult are all receiving series orders.

The one somewhat surprising omission from the pickup list? The Hunger Games-esque drama The Selection. We also have new detailed official descriptions of each new show below:

The CW has picked up five new hourlong series for fall, including the Sex and the City prequel The Carrie Diaries, a reboot of Beauty and the Beast and the superhero saga Arrow. Also getting a green light are dark thriller Cult and medical dramedy First Cut.

Conspicuously missing from the pack is the Hunger Games-esque The Selection.

Keri Russell was seen heading back to her home in Brooklyn after running errands yesterday. The actress wore a striped top and jeans as she took advantage of the springlike weather and some downtime between projects. Her current movie, Austenland, is in postproduction, and it was announced earlier this week that Keri is set to make a return to television as she recently signed on to play a Kgb spy in an arranged marriage in the upcoming FX pilot The Americans. Keri Russell has agreed to star in the FX period drama pilot The Americans. The project comes from Falling Skies’ Joe Weisberg and Justified showrunner Graham Yost and centers on two Kgb spies posing as a married American couple in the suburbs of Washington DC in the 1980s. The drama in the show comes not only from the spy aspect, but also from the fact that the couple has two children who are unaware of their parents’ true identities. Their relationship grows into a passionate and genuine relationship, but they’re constantly tested by the escalation of the Cold War and the “intimate, dangerous and darkly funny relationships they must maintain with a network of spies and informants under their control.” Deadline reports that, following prolonged negotiations, Russell has signed on to play the wife. This is one of the more promising pilots currently in development, and Russell is an interesting choice for the lead.

"The Americans" follows two Kgb spies, Phillip and Elizabeth Jennings (Russell), who are in an arranged marriage with two children. However, the children know nothing about the lives their parents lead. Phillip has not been cast yet.

The young actor’s name is Austin Butler and you may have spied the blond on Lifetime’s The Bling Ring. According to Deadline the young Carrie Bradshaw will be acted by AnnaSophia Robb of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Bridge to Terabithia, The Reaping and Soul Surfer.

I still find it hard to believe the CW is going ahead and making a prequel pilot to HBO’s Sex and the City, and even more unbelievable they would cast someone like AnnaSophia Robb as the young Carrie Bradshaw. That’s not at all a comment against Robb. She’s a terrific young actress and has done very well for herself in the realm of feature films. However, I simply cannot imagine her as playing the iconic character of Carrie. In my eyes she doesn’t look anything like Sarah Jessica Parker, the actress who originally played Carrie, and that’s a big deal for me.

But the die has been cast and this is the result we’re stuck with. I’m almost certain I’m going to be nearly alone in my dislike of this casting choice. Judgment should probably be reserved for when the pilot is actually watchable,...

Ok, world is a bit of a grandiose term – we’re just talking about The CW here. The network has made its decision to cast AnnaSophia Robb as the lead in The Carrie Diaries pilot, the proposed prequel to the HBO Original Series, Sex and the City.

Robb will play a young version of role that made Sarah Jessica Parker [more of] a household name during the original’s six-year run from 1998 to 2004. The CW pilot, based on Candace Bushnell’s novel of the same name, will explore Carrie’s formative years, starting with her senior year in high school, as the resident of a small town that is first venturing into the dangerous world of love, sex and relationships. Think Carrie prior to the insanely expensive shoes and before her popular writing gig for the New York Star.

AnnaSophia Robb, the star of 2011 emotional movie "Soul Surfer," will play a younger version of the iconic television and novel character in a pilot for The CW, a rep for the network confirmed to Access Hollywood on Monday.

Stefania Owen, the daughter from the now-canceled Fox comedy "Running Wilde," will play Carrie's little sister, Dorrit, 14.

The storyline will focus on a high-school aged Carrie, following the death of her mother, as she is raised by her father in Connecticut.

Regardless of whether or not there's a third "Sex and the City" movie, the hit franchise is far from being over. The CW has ordered a pilot of "The Carrie Diaries," based on Candace Bushnell's novel about a teenage Carrie Bradshaw, and now the network has found an actress to fill Sarah Jessica Parker's stilettos.

AnnaSophia Robb has landed the starring role in the prequel pilot, Entertainment Weekly reports. The series is set in the 1980s, when high-schooler Carrie first discovers her infatuation with New York City.

The 18-year-old Robb is mostly known for her work in movies, most recently starring in "Soul Surfer" and other kiddie fare like "Race to Witch Mountain," "Bridge to Terabithia" and the remake of "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory."

"The Carrie Diaries" comes from "Gossip Girl" creators Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, and costars Stefania Owen ("Running Wilde") as Carrie's 14-year-old sister Dorrit.
