Jason Ritter, who wrapped production on CBS’ already-renewed Matlock back in October, has lined up a “super” side hustle, on HBO’s upcoming Green Lantern series.
TVLine can confirm that Ritter has been cast in Lanterns as Billy Macon, “a good-looking charmer who does his father’s bidding,” the official character description tells us. “Capitalizing on his family’s reputation, he clings to his small-town ego and has everything to lose.”

HBO's Green Lanternseries has added another face, this time from a new television drama that has been making waves in the ratings scene. Set in the DC Universe, Lanterns follows Aaron Pierrer and Kyle Chandler as John Stewart and Hal Jordan, respectively, as they investigate a murder in the American heartland. If a new report is to be trusted, then one of the cast members from the hit CBS remake Matlock is set to join the first live-action series from the Dcu.
According to The InSneider, Jason Ritter has joined Lanterns and will play the husband of Kelly Macdonald's character, Sheriff Kerry, who was previously described as "a no-nonsense woman deeply devoted to her family and close-knit town." It's unclear how significant Ritter's role will be, but there is a chance there is more than meets the eye as the Green Lantern duo looks to solve an alien conspiracy.

NBC has given out a pilot order to the single-cam project “Stumble.”
The show is described as “A mockumentary about the ridiculously high stakes competitive world of junior college cheer.” The project was originally set up with a put pilot commitment at NBC in late 2024.
Jeff Astrof and Liz Astrof are writing and executive producing the pilot. Dana Honor is executive producing via Defining Eve Productions, with cheerleading coach Monica Aldama also executive producing. Universal Television is the studio.
Both Jeff and Liz Astrof, who are brother and sister, are veteran comedy writers and producers, but this marks the first time they have teamed up to create a series.
Jeff recently created the Starz series “Shining Vale” and previously co-created the NBC mockumentary series “Trial & Error.” His other credits include “The New Adventures of Old Christine,” “Grounded for Life,” and “Friends.”

HBO‘s Lanterns comes to light with the first image from the highly anticipated DC series, featuring Aaron Pierre (John Stewart) and Kyle Chandler (Hal Jordan) for an earthbound story inspired by the beloved DC comics universe. Today’s image shows Pierre and Chandler walking down a desolate road dressed in civvies. DC’s Lanterns follows “new recruit John Stewart (Pierre) and Lantern legend Hal Jordan (Chandler), two intergalactic cops drawn into a dark, Earth-based mystery as they investigate a murder in the American heartland.” Interestingly, the show from creators Chris Mundy, Tom King, and Damon Lindelof has True Detective vibes, making for a curious adaptation of the traditionally interstellar action comic book series.
Before you start manifesting tables to flip, the image has one element familiar to the legendary series. Looking closely at Chandler’s hand, you’ll spot a green power ring, the object that, once changed by Green Lantern’s Light,...

HBO's Green Lantern series has unveiled the first look at the titular intergalactic cops, and they look straight out of True Detective. Lanterns stars Aaron Pierre as John Stewart and Kyle Chandler as Hal Jordan, two of the most iconic members of the Green Lantern Corps from the source material. The upcoming Dcu series, which has been described as a boots-on-the-ground story about an alien conspiracy, is now in production. If the general vibe HBO is going for is indeed a gritty prestige drama, it's safe to say they nailed it so far.
HBO and Max released the first official image from the production of Lanterns, which is currently underway. And while the Green Lantern duo are not in their superhero outfits, both John Stewart and Hal Jordan seem to be sporting their power rings. While Pierre looks young and spry as John, Chandler perfectly embodies the veteran appearance of Hal.

Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage has lived up to the promise of a Young Sheldon spin-off going back to the franchise's multi-camera sitcom roots. Featuring the fan-favorite couple made popular in The Big Bang Theory prequel, CBS has found themselves another hit on their hands. Shortly after airing its first episodes, the network moved quickly to give it a full-season order. As the freshman season of Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage heads towards its final chapters, CBS has finally made a decision on a potential Season 2 for the recent ratings hit.
Deadline reports that Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage has gotten a Season 2 order from its parent channel. The news comes as the series nears the halfway mark of its 22-episode first season. It's unclear if the now-confirmed second season will be just as long, but fans should expect a similar episode count as long as the series continues to engross audiences on a week-to-week basis.

Quick LinksWhat Is 'Raising Hope' About? Why 'Raising Hope' Is Worth Watching
Everyone loves a good family sitcom, right? A feel-good premise, likable characters, and strong humor to balance it all out. Arguably, the biggest family comedy on TV today is Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage. That makes sense, as it's set in the immensely popular Big Bang Theory-universe. But if you're looking for a more underrated family comedy to binge, put this early 2010s Fox sitcom on your radar.
Raising Hope ran for four seasons on Fox from 2010 to 2014. It followed a young, single father trying his best to raise his baby daughter with the help of his family. The Chance family was your average lower middle class bunch just trying their best to get by in day-to-day life. Are they the most stable group of characters? Well, not exactly. But they do love each other,...

What do you do when the last spinoff of your favorite Canadian sci-fi show ended ages ago and you've worn out your DVD box set rewatching it? If you're as obsessive as I am about my favorite franchises, you might just want to catch up with all the show's stars in their most recent projects. Luckily, when it comes to the cast of "Stargate Sg-1," there are plenty of great post-series movies and shows to choose from.
The long-running "Stargate" saga, based on Roland Emmerich's 1994 movie, has fizzled out a bit in recent years, due in part to apparently complicated rights issues. At its height, the franchise included several TV shows and movies, plus novels, comic books, games, and a web series. None of them were quite as beloved as "Stargate Sg-1," which was nominated for nine Emmys and kick-started the careers of several of its stars. Others involved...

Over the years, weve seen a ton of odes to Alfred Hitchcocks work, and with a collection like his, its easy to see why. From North by Northwest to the iconic Psycho, Hitchcocks work has inspired directors and filmmakers across genres. With more classic picks like Castle Rock and You, youd never guess that one of the best Hitchcock tributes came from an episode of Raising Hope. At first glance, Greg Garcias the shows creator style is distinctly different from Hitchcocks. For one, the latter was not a funny man and created some of the most intense on-screen moments in film history. However, a little tapped inspiration here and there always makes for an interesting watch.

Joe Egan, who co-founded Stealers Wheel with Gerry Rafferty and co-wrote and sang on the enduring hit “Stuck in the Middle with You,” died July 6. He was 77. The news was shared on the late Rafferty’s official Facebook page, but no details were provided.
“Very sad news that the other half of Stealers Wheel, Joe Egan, passed away peacefully yesterday afternoon with his nearest and dearest around him,” read the post on the page run by Rafferty’s daughter, Martha. “I will always remember him as a sweet and gentle soul. May he rest in peace.”
Egan — who originally dreamed of soccer stardom — and Rafferty met as teenagers at St. Mirin’s Academy in their hometown of Paisley, Scotland, and formed Stealers Wheel in the early 1970s. Their first two singles stiffed, but the third would become a rock and pop standard.

There’s very few sacred cows left and sometimes a remake can help. Something...

“This is not a TikTok, it’s a SickTok”, the 43-year-old actress and comedian said in a video she shared on TikTok after undergoing surgery for the disease.
“I had lung cancer surgery yesterday,” Micucci said from the hospital. “It’s really weird because I’ve never smoked a cigarette in my life so uh, you know, it was a surprise. But I guess it happens and so the greatest news is they caught it early, they got it out — I’m all good.”

Some of the best romances are unconventional ones between two artsy or peculiar people. TV characters who are their full authentic selves can be a bit eccentric. However, that means that they attract and keep people around them who truly understand and appreciate them.
Sitcoms and tongue-in-cheek dark fantasy TV shows are great settings for exploring odd characters. From strange royals loosely inspired by history to surprisingly altruistic civil servants, there is a match for every person. Sometimes two people with completely disparate personalities shock audiences when they get together, but they somehow make sense and excellent writing ultimately sells the romantic pairing.

1968's "Planet of the Apes" is one of the most legendary sci-fi movies in cinematic history. Co-written by Rod Serling of "The Twilight Zone" fame and directed by Franklin J. Schaffner, it spawned a franchise that is still going strong to this day.
It all started, however, with the story of astronauts landing on a mysterious planet filled with intelligent apes, only to discover that they were actually on Earth in the distant future. Led by Charlton Heston, the film boasted an incredible cast — not to mention some legendary practical makeup effects that helped bring the apes to life. Unfortunately, when a film is more than 50 years old, not many people from the cast are going to be around any longer. Luckily, a couple of key cast members are indeed still here to help keep the legacy alive.
