Hulu's hit comedy Only Murders in the Building will return with Season 5. Already in production, the new season is staying consistent with its love for famous names.
After flaunting a long list of critically acclaimed actors throughout its first four seasons, that won't stop for the upcoming fifth season. Only Murders in the Building added yet another Oscar-winning actor to its star-studded cast. Per Variety, two-time Oscar-winning actor Christoph Waltz joined the series in a recurring role.
As usual, Hulu is keeping details for Waltz's character under wraps. So far, Waltz marks the second big guest star after actor and comedian Keegan-Michael Key joined the cast earlier this month in a recurring role.
Christoph Waltz won two Oscars for Best Supporting Actor, both for his work with critically acclaimed director Quentin Tarantino. The first one was for 2009's Inglorious Basterds, and the second for 2012's Django Unchained, which also won him Golden Globes,...

Well, well, well, the writers at Elsbeth are making sure they are one step ahead of viewers’ expectations. Rather than waiting until the finale again, audiences got a genuine murder mystery as a change of pace.
Despite the series’ formulaic approach, with episodic murderers and the typical case-of-the-week format, the hands behind the show continue to find ways to add pink sprinkles of chaos.
Elsbeth Season 2 Episode 3 brought us another suspect we will never forget. And we already know the show isn’t afraid to bring back a familiar face or two.
(Michael Parmelee/CBS)
And while “Devil’s Night” was an apt title for the Elsbeth episode, how much more fun would it have been if it was “Dude, Where’s My Gun?” or “Eternal Nighttime of the Blacked-Out Mind?”
Elsbeth tends to bring out the camp in people.

Simon West directed the film, while “The Last Son” scribe Greg Johnson penned the script.
The film follows aging contract killer Danny Dolinski (Waltz), who still believes he’s the best at what he does. Marvel One-Shots are a simple way to engage fans with short, budget-friendly films featuring key MCU characters between major movies. Marvel One-Shots can confirm the Avengers' continued activity and bridge gaps during Phases 5 and 6. The minimalistic nature of Marvel One-Shots allows for quick worldbuilding and character development without large budgets or complex storylines.
Marvel Studios already devised an effective solution to the McU's output problems, but it hasn't been attempted since Phase 3. Most content in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's timeline has been released since the beginning of Phase 4, with 23 movies released throughout the Infinity Saga and more than 30 projects either released or announced in the Multiverse Saga. While the McU's Disney+ shows have been generally well received, the large number of yearly MCU releases has saturated the franchise and kept each individual entry from reaching its full potential.
In order to streamline the MCU, Marvel Studios decided to decrease the franchise's output.

Which Brings Me to You is a dialogue-heavy rom-com set in New York that tries to distinguish itself from other films in the genre. Lucy Hale and Nat Wolff give it their all, but their characters' checkered pasts and the supporting personas introduced in the film may not be enough to make it stand out. The film mixes emotional drama with comedic moments, but the film leaves viewers wanting more of a climactic explosion in the story.
In this digital age of pseudo-enlightenment, quirky rom-coms are abundant. Many of the films are based in Los Angeles, a sort of safe bet in the unofficial U.S. capital of entertainment. If they're not set in L.A., then they're, of course, set in New York. Which brings me to...

Based on Bentley Little’s book of the same name, Prime Video’s The Consultant is a twisty murder mystery, a dark workplace comedy, and a sci-fi horror show all wrapped up into one. Following the death of CEO Sang Woo, mobile game developer CompWare gets new leadership in the enigmatic consultant Regus Patoff. Played with devilish charm and wicked cruelty by Christoph Waltz, Patoff is the boss from Hell — maybe even literally.
The Consultant follows CompWare employees Elaine and Craig as they unravel their new boss’s past, ultimately leaving us with more questions than answers. Who is Regus Patoff, and how is he able to get away with the things that he does? What is his endgame with CompWare, and what comes next? The Consultant hints at answers to these and many more questions but never answers them outright; instead, viewers must parse through the symbols and metaphors that hold the show together.

Over the years, one of the most impressive aspects of the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been how the universe managed to set up moments in subtle ways with each movie. In the past, this was reserved solely for after-credits scenes like Nick Fury's debut at the end of Iron Man. However, as the universe grew more, the concept of One-Shots started to become prevalent with the Blu-ray releases. These short films did everything from bridging the gap between movies to giving a glimpse at civilian life in the ever-changing MCU.
The first One-Shot, The Consultant, explained why Tony Stark talked to General Ross at the end of The Incredible Hulk. Meanwhile, All Hail the King set up the real Mandarin and Ten Rings, which wouldn't appear until years later in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. But in a short titled Item 47, the seemingly throwaway story actually...

Workplace dramas are all the rage right now, thanks to films like “Blackberry” and shows likes “Severance,” “The Consultant,” “WeCrashed,” and “Industry.” But who paved the way for works like that? That’s right, Don Draper and “Mad Men,” a series that remains one of the highlights of 21st-century TV. So it’s comforting, in a way, to see Jon Hamm back in a cubicle for “Corner Office,” a new dark comedy hitting theaters and Digital/On Demand next month.

"They don't care about you! You're a number in a column on a spreadsheet...!" Lionsgate has revealed the official trailer for an indie film called Corner Office, a workplace comedy in the same vein as Office Space and "Severance" with a few tricks up its sleeves. There's been many of these corporate-work-sucks series recently, such as "The Consultant" and "Glamorous" and "WeCrashed" and "Industry", along with all the classics like "The Office". This premiered at last year's Tribeca Film Festival, and played at the Raindance & Fort Lauderdale Film Fests. In this office satire, Jon Hamm plays Orson, a straight-laced employee at a big, generic corporation who discovers a blissfully empty corner office to get away from his colleagues. But why does this seem to upset them so much? What is really going on? Starring Danny Pudi, Christopher Heyerdahl, Allison Riley, Shawn Macdonald, and Sarah Gadon. That is one magnificent mustache on Hamm,...

Aeon Flux director Karyn Kusama is grateful in a way for the harsh feedback she received for the film. Released in 2005, Aeon Flux was a live-action adaptation of the animated series of the same name. It starred Charlize Theron as Aeon Flux, a skilled warrior in a post-apocalyptic future leading a group of rebels in Earth's last surviving city. The film was a box office bomb and was shredded by the critics, holding a 9% score at Rotten Tomatoes.
Per THR, Kusama recently reflected on Aeon Flux in a roundtable discussion with some fellow directors. She recalled how she was fired from that project during post-production, only for a Paramount executive to invite her back after saying, "I really hated your version of the movie. But believe it or not, I hate the new version even more." While Kusama says that remark ranks high with the most backhanded compliments she's gotten in her career,...

The intersection of late-stage capitalism and late-stage Peak TV has made prophets of people normally fixated on profits.
It would be borderline madness if, on a weekly basis, the Walt Disney Co., Warner Bros. Discovery, Amazon and Apple were to send shareholders an email with the subject line: “The End Is Nigh.” But the television industry, which has normally explored issues of class with the same skittishness it reserves for religion, has started to treat the economic realities of our American experiment with far more pessimism than you would expect.
The irony is plain: These content producers/unlikely doomsday preachers are putting out a steady stream of shows about the corrosive impact of a system that treats workers as interchangeable cogs existing only to fatten the bottom line; at the same time, they’re raising subscription prices on loyal customers and killing off completed productions that employed hundreds for tax write-offs.

Prime Video lists its new show, The Consultant, starring Christoph Waltz, as a dark comedy, but we aren't finding much funny about it at all, to be honest. Two-time Academy Award winner, Waltz has never been creepier, and the laughs are few and far between in this dark portrait of a mysterious consultant who shows up one day to replace the violently gunned down CEO and founder of Comp Ware, a Los Angeles-based gaming app company. You may have thought Waltz was at his creepiest in his 2009 breakout role as German SS Officer Hans Landa in Quentin Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds. But, in fact, you probably still haven't seen the actor more bizarrely twisted and sinister than in The Consultant. This Waltz character brings some seriously cringe-worthy moments in a rare foray onto the small screen.

In this weekly data series powered by Parrot Analytics, we look at the top breakout shows of the past week. Breakout shows are the most in-demand series that have premiered in the past 100 days.
The CW’s “Gotham Knights” had a strong premiere as it entered the breakout shows ranking with 16.9 times the average series demand, a whopping 146% increase since its first episode aired on March 14, according to Parrot Analytics‘ data, which takes into account consumer research, streaming, downloads and social media, among other engagement.
Even though makers of the video game that carries the same name and is set in the timeline hastened to distance themselves from the show after an ill-received trailer release, television’s “Gotham Knights” appears to have overcome the controversy. It could even prove to be another example of why tapping into video game IP has become such an important strategy in Hollywood.

The Consultant season 1 brings a conclusive end to Patoff's tenure at CompWare but also makes room for some potential season 2 storylines. Based on Bentley Little's novel of the same name and written by Servant creator Tony Basgallop, The Consultant, on the surface, is a gripping thriller series that captivates viewers with its absurd workplace satire and strong performances. However, on a deeper level, the Amazon show also raises some thought-provoking questions surrounding the skewed nature of material human ambitions and their co-relation with morality.
After portraying an intense game of politics and deception between Patoff and his employees, The Consultant season 1 ends its storyline on a satisfying note. Exclusive: Following the success of Netflix’s Wednesday and Oscar contender Elvis, Andrew Mittman has renewed his overall deal with MGM Television.
Mittman, via his 1.21 label, has re-upped his exclusive deal with the studio, fresh from the launch of Amazon’s Christoph Waltz-fronted series The Consultant.
It’s three years since Mittman struck his first deal with MGM Television.
Last year, he promoted Kai Dolbashian to Head of Development at the company.
It’s a sign of intent for MGM, which was restructured in November after its acquisition by Amazon, in a move that saw Lindsay Sloane become Head of MGM Scripted Television and new roles for Rola Bauer as President of International TV.

Search the whole of planet Earth, and you'll find no one who disputes the incontrovertible fact that Christoph Waltz makes an impeccable villain; Amazon certainly agrees, since Waltz leads Prime Video's new thriller series The Consultant. One performance so magnificently bloodcurdling, it's almost supernatural (Colonel Hans Landa in Inglorious Basterds), was all it took to induct him into the movie villains hall of fame and bag his first of two Academy Awards. Naturally, the American movie system lined up at his doorstep. But Christoph Waltz should get to play good guys too — as he does so well in Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained.

The possibility of The Consultant season 2 has been addressed by series star Nat Wolff. Based on the novel by Bentley Little and written by Servant creator Tony Basgallop, The Consultant premiered on Prime Video in February. The story follows Regus Patoff, who is played by Christoph Waltz. A mysterious fixer who arrives at CompWare, a mobile gaming company, after the bizarre murder of its CEO, Patoff essentially begins to run the company. The only two people that even consider standing in his way are Elaine Hayman (Brittany O'Grady) and Craig Horne (Wolff).
In an interview with TV Insider, Wolff was asked whether the thriller series would be back for season 2. In his response, he acknowledges there's more story to tell, but added that The Consultant season 1 is able to stand on its own. The actor is asked about what's next for Craig and Elaine, and he offers his perspective on their relationship.

Warning: Contains Spoilers for The Consultant.
Christoph Waltz is known for portraying some memorable big-screen villains, but his character in The Consultant, Regus Patoff, is even scarier than his most iconic movie antagonist. The Consultant offers a satirical look at how corporate cultures often rest on a foundation of lies and slander, and are led by those willing to put everything, including their morals, on the line. While The Consultant offers more thrills than chills with its underlying mysteries and supernatural undertones, it gets genuinely terrifying when Christoph Waltz plays the menacing Regus Patoff.
The Consultant's opening moments establish that Patoff is a ruthless, devilish authoritarian who cares little about his employees' well-being and will do anything to save CompWare's business. As the Amazon horror TV show progresses, it becomes evident that Patoff is more wicked than he initially seemed, as he starts pulling the strings of his employees' personal...

Warning: Contains Spoilers for The Consultant.Christoph Waltz's Regus Patoff in The Consultant is literally and metaphorically the devil in a human disguise — here's how. In its eight-episode runtime, Amazon's The Consultant presents many jarring mysteries, satirical digs at capitalism, and moments of shock-and-awe entertainment to keep viewers on their toes. However, its primary appeal comes from Christopher Waltz's brilliant portrayal of the enigmatic titular Consultant Regus Patoff.
Although something about Patoff seems off when he ruthlessly fires employees and gradually invades their personal lives in Amazon Prime Video's The Consultant's opening moments, nothing suggests that he is anything more than a flawed human. As the show progresses, though, his ability to stay up all night every day and the constant monotone in his voice hint that he is closer to being a machine than a human. What initially seems like a battle of man vs. A.I.

Combining horror with satire, The Consultant brings new life to workplace politics, inequalities, and drama by portraying how in his pursuit of improving a firm's revenue, a peculiar management consultant shows no qualms about wreaking havoc in the lives of his employees. Despite having horror ties, The Consultant works better as a mystery thriller that slowly builds up to its climactic revelations.
From the details surrounding Regus Patoff's origins to the supernatural aspects of his characterization, the Amazon TV show intentionally leaves some narrative elements to the viewer's imagination. However, at the same time, The Consultant's ending also drops clear indications of how Patoff ingeniously fulfils his capitalist motives by using toxic rules and regulations to skew his workforce's moral compass.

This weekend sees the return of some high-quality shows – one of which is back from a hiatus that began in 2010 – and the debut of some new ones. If you currently work from home and have anxiety about going to the office to work, “The Consultant,” a new series on Prime Video, will make you rethink your life choices. Based on the best-selling horror novel by Bentley Little, the eight-episode series stars Christoph Waltz as Regus Patoff, a business consultant with a sadistic method of restructuring businesses.
Created by Tony Basgallop (“Servant”) and executive produced and directed by Matt Shakman (“WandaVision”), the series is more of an interpretation of Little’s book rather than a direct adaptation. As a result, it leans more into sinister themes of the lengths people will go to for money in corporate America.
Waltz’s chilling performance highlights this series as he embodies Patoff, a mild-mannered boss who never raises his voice but can manipulate those around him to do unspeakable things.

Nat Wolff has been really famous a couple of times. The first was in 2007, when his show The Naked Brothers Band (based on his real-life musical group) became Nickelodeon’s most popular kids’ series — that was the kind of fame that got him bullied at his New York City middle school. Then, in 2015, he led Paper Towns, the big-screen adaptation of John Green’s blockbuster YA novel — that was the screaming-teen-girls-following-you-on-a-global-press-tour variety.
Now he’s preparing for the release of a series that features his first starring TV role — and a run alongside Parker Posey and Hari Nef in an off-Broadway adaptation of The Seagull/Woodstock, NY — and feeling further from those days than ever. “A couple of girls followed me home from rehearsals the other day, and it made me realize I barely think about being a child star,” says the 28-year-old over late-morning shrimp tacos in Times Square.

In Prime Video’s series, The Consultant, Academy Award-winning actor Christoph Waltz makes the transition to his first American television series as Regus Patoff, a mysterious and fearsome character. Best known for his Oscar-winning performances in Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds and Django Unchained, Waltz is a standout when it comes to slow-simmering, almost giddy, villainous roles. In The Consultant's first few episodes, Regus Patoff (played by Christoph Waltz of Django Unchained's fame) seems peculiar because of his ambiguous position in CompWare's corporate hierarchy. He presents himself as a mercenary with no skin in the gaming world, and even makes shallow promises and ridiculous claims about reviving the company's business. Warning: Contains Spoilers for The ConsultantAmazon's The Consultant borrows many narrative elements from its original Bentley Little novel but directs them towards a totally different ending — here's why. On the surface, Amazon's The Consultant is indistinguishable from its source material. Like the Bentley Little novel, it focuses on a gaming company called CompWare that is in dire straits and can only be saved from its imminent downfall by a consultant named Regus Patoff.
In Amazon's depiction of The Consultant's workplace satire, Regus Patoff initially seems quite similar to his source material counterpart: he ruthlessly fires employees, erases the lines between their work and personal lives, and evens pits them against one another. Christoph Waltz (of Inglorious Basterds' fame) does an incredible job at portraying the intimidating demeanor that Little's Patoff brings to CompWare's office. However, as The Consultant progress, Patoff's character drifts further away from the book's version and consequently...

HBO's hit anthology series "The White Lotus" is not only known for its clever satire but its ensemble cast. The first season, which premiered in July 2021, centers around a group of guests staying at the fictional White Lotus resort in Hawaii. While Murray Bartlett, Connie Britton, and Jennifer Coolidge make up the older cast, Sydney Sweeney and Brittany O'Grady represent Gen Z on the show by playing a pair of college-aged mean girls named Olivia and Paula.
You may recognize O'Grady from previous shows like "The Messengers," "Star," and "Little Voice." And if you miss seeing her on "The White Lotus," you're probably wondering, what is she up to now? Well, apart from landing one of the lead roles in the new dark comedy series "The Consultant," O'Grady is now married. The actor and her longtime love Ben Huyard tied the knot in September 2022. Luckily for us, O'Grady has shared...
